@@tubetop123 Yeah in the EU the Lightwhips were a thing various Force Users used, specifically The Nightsisters, the other Non-Dark Side Clans on Dathomir, and one of Vader's Apprentices Darth Lumiya.
Yes, something was lost. The funding that was used could have been used for the Lando series, another Ashoka or Kenobi series or anything better than the stupid Acolyte. They could even done something like the life of Revin. A WOKE waste of time and funding.
Its sad that star wars fans cant even appreciate how much legends stuff was put in there. Even making jokes of stuff which is around for DECADES, just because you people have not read as much as hard fans so you draw false conclusions every time. Its frustrating. Jeah Dialoges were not good. They werent under George Lucas too, they were awful. You People are hating too much on acolyte and you destroyed an opportunity of really freaking cool legends stuff which just can be put in there by star wars nerds.
As far as I can tell, Leslie made it for herself, she didn’t care about any of the fans during the creation, she just wanted to send a message at the expense of the story
Ya, they’re poor caretakers of our cultural heritage…all the way down to Snow White and Mickey. Walt would not be proud. In fact, he’d be disgusted and heartbroken. I’m kinda ish about Lucas, but I wish he hadn’t caved - or at least had sold it to a film house with dedicated fans…or at least some company with common sense.
Put it this way, The Stupendous Wave channel has brought myself and fellow Star Wars fans so much knowledge of SW lore that with all the videos you have made you could have had your own series and it would have kicked these mud scuffers butts that created the acolyte. Your lore telling brings great joy to us, we will always be here to support you so thank you Stupendous Wave
I think it’s safe to say that the show ended with evil twin and Greenbean being executed for their crimes while the stupid couple gets murdered by Darth Plagues, THE END!
@@applejuicejunkie316 how could we know they would throw garbage at us? You talk as if we were forced to like garbage. Lol. They break all the lore, troll the entire franchise, spit on the fans and call them the most horrible things, and yeah, for you they are the "good guys", uncomprehended. Poor things.
I’m so relieved. I’m going to pretend the first season was some kind of Sith propaganda as told by a coked up member of the Whills. It’s the same Whill that told us the story of the sequel trilogy.
Lol the Acolyte season 2 is just one 2 minute episode where Osha wakes up, says wow what a crazy dream, goes to work putting out a fire outside the ship, and then there’s an explosion which blasts her into the vacuum of space
Crazy that people are saying review bombs shut down the show when it just wasn't a great show. And it's a streamed show so they look at views not reviews.
One thing I remember Leslie when describing what her idea was for creating the show was that she wanted to focus on the sith and how they survived in the shadows for so long. Nothing about this show even focused on the sith whatsoever.
@@shinzonthetaLeslie literally says herself that this was the agenda of the show. She wanted to tell her mom-binary story about the sexism. If the story was great, I’d be receptive. The story was bad, the pacing was terrible and so many plot holes made this a truly forgettable show
@@bosstalk so honest question? Would you have came to that conclusion on your own without reading that interview? Why I made the comment about being chronically online is because it really does seem like the only people who give a shit about such things are the people fishing for clout on social media and comment sections. Like I get just not liking the show (while I did enjoy it myself there was plenty of things about it worthy of criticism) but it's wacky to me how people have to have everything being super ideologically friendly to them now. It doesn't follow logically that you have to agree with a authors intent to enjoy the work of said author. This shit mattering is what makes arguements like this for the "chronically online". Like for example, I am a big fan of the musician eric clapton. I know full well the guy was a covid vaccine skeptic(and went on a extremely racist anti immigrant tirade during a concert in the 70s)...does that make me enjoy his music any less? Fuck no. Does that make me like him on a personal level? No. That's normal....the weeping and gnashing of teeth over ever little thing online shouldn't be normal. Touch grass.
I’m not entirely shocked. It’s received some pretty terrible reviews and I think we can all agree that although it had some great characters (Sol, Qimir) the writing was terrible.
And of course the actress cries racism. The whole concept of racism has lost all meaning at this point. This show was made out of pure spite. There is no other explanation.
Tolkien's quote applied perfectly to the acolyte "Evil is not able to create anything new, it can only distort and destroy what has been invented or made by the forces of good."
@coachlong23 Still, you can't deny that this quote holds undeniable truth to it. The Acolyte and the Sequel trilogy apply to this. Both weren't new and not decently done. It was basically a bad retelling of the Darth Plagueis novel and Dark Empire storyline respectively. Not to mention turning Luke from Jedi legend to Jedi quitter.
@@coachlong23 it is utterly impossible for a sensible person to read this comment come to the conclusion you have. why is it that only the most indoctrinated extremists use terms like this?
Bruh he was running around telling Jedi “hey look at me I’m a Sith”. Plagueis should pull his skeleton out of his body using the force and then piss on the pile of flesh and blood.
He didn't run around saying that he only revealed himself because he had to cuz May was going to expose him he showed up wearing a mask and even says he's only there because he has to kill them all, which he did besides Sol who ends up dead anyways. The only people that know he's alive at the end are the twins.

@@purphexyon I can see where you’re coming from. I’m not interested in wokeness, and it’s hard not to be when it gets shoved in your face in every new form of media. @@taranfravel4402 Hey man, we gotta be better than the twt users calling us bigots. I wanted Acolyte gone because it was a bad show with bad writing, not because it’s made by women. One of my favorite anime of all time is Full Metal Alchemist and that was made by a woman, I don’t see why Kathleen should get any flack. She won’t be remembered for being a woman, she’ll be remembered for being a bad writer
As someone super late to the game who just beat Jedi Fallen Order I think it's very telling that my first thought at the end of it was "Wow, this was a better Star Wars Movie/Show than any of the actual movies or shows Disney has released, I would have rather watched this."
I'm okay if some people says they enjoyed the show, but saying it did not broke the lore or it was logical, better than this or that... There are problems there and I just feel sorry for them.

While I think it deserved to be canceled because of the poor writing, poor characterization (why should we care about these characters), questionable morality, and just generally bad storytelling and production. However, I argue the lead actress (Mae and Osha) were NOT the problem, early on I began to warm a little to Osha and at one point I had sympathy for Mae, but it didn’t take long for the script’s ineptness to make me lose interest or be annoyed by the choices they make (this is not the fault of the actress). So, I do feel bad about the actors loosing their job, but honestly the killed the characters I had any interest in anyway. What really makes me happy is this failure being recognized by Disney-Lucasfilm and I’m optimistically hopeful they course correct, focusing on storytelling and quality control of production. Honestly, it was jaw dropping that Lucasfilm and Disney executives green lit the release of the series because its storytelling and production (outside of light saber battles) was so sophomoric.
Only then for the kid to piss in the lemonade. And berate and label anyone who dare complains about the self-proclaimed and amazingly diverse and inclusive, piss-flavored lemonade as a racist, misogynist, sexist and homophobe.
No it’s like if your kid wants to sell lemonade with piss in it. In which case you take them aside, gently explain to them that they are a terrible, horrible person, they should be completely ashamed, and they should never try it again. Then you burn the lemonade stand down and make them watch so the lesson sinks in.
You have to wonder what the hell Disney is doing and thinking at this point. It has been a nose dive since episode 8. They've done a few good things since but they have irrevocably damaged the star wars brand
Disney is controlled by a council of dark lords of the sith and they want to admit everything, except their failures and that they are wrong in all their takes. Some leaders proved to be really narcissistic and delusional people, who lash out on the fans and have the maturity of a toddler.
I know many are saying “And nothing of Value was lost.” in my opinion we’ve been left with a net positive that season 2 was cancelled. The show was just that bad.
I agree everything you said, it funny how i used to watch your videos as a kid on my mom phone and now at age 22 agree with you how bad has star wars had fallen. Time flies by.
Canceling the show brings a slew of new problems now. Most importantly, they ended the season with Yoda being complicit in the murder and cover-up of his fellow jedi. Another character they have to explain is Ki-adi-mundi and his ignorance and complacency in the series. Unfortunately just canceling the next season isn't enough damage control...they have to pull the acolyte from their streaming service to even redeem Yoda as a good guy instead of everyone believing he has been evil for at least 100 years.
Cannot be happier. That terrible attempt of a show was beyond God awful. Just brutally bad. Not Star Wars. Not canon. And now not moving forward. Adios!!
19:51 one thing I disagree with in this video is this part. Say what you want about the show, and Leslie’s handle on it, but she clearly loves Star Wars. All the interviews and articles I read about her, she loves the franchise. There’s a video about her getting giddy about introducing a cortosis to canon. She called Disney & pitch Star Wars ideas. She’s consumed the extended universe. Hell, the fact that she knows what the gray Jedi fan theory is speaks volumes. Now, did that translate well in the show? No. However, I wouldn’t say that she didn’t care or wasn’t a fan.
She could slam her knee into the coffee table and somehow find a way to blame you because you aren’t a carbon copy of her and don’t look like her. At what point and how many signs do you need to tell you “hey maybe you shouldn’t be acting and maybe you should work on your mental health instead” but nope whine whine and have a psychotic breakdown.
It was like they wanted it to fail. So they can move us back, paying to go to the theater movies. Not all can do that. I prefer to watch them on my TV. As I have health problems that make it hard to go to theater. And covid is still a thing, and bad for people like me to be around a lot of people. I do not miss people getting up well, movie is playing in front me or having to run to the bathroom to end up missing a lot of the movie. Or some kid crying throughout the movie because they are tired and want to go home.
Let's take 5 seconds to share our condolences of the acolyte, and rejoice afterwards. Just like when SpongeBob told Squidward he's going on vacation from work
Let’s be honest, the Acolyte was a blatant attempt to replace Anakin. I wouldn’t have been surprised if their plans included making Osha the next chosen one.
@@charlesbird2897I used to be like that when it first came out but once it finished, I realized it was pretty terrible, and had a feeling this would happen. I’m little mad because now there are unresolved plot threads in the Star Wars universe, yet these threads wouldn’t have existed if the show wasn’t made.
In reality, ridiculously oversized hilts and more inconsistent behavior. How the hell do you stab smoke with a lightsaber and somehow it gravely wounds it?
If you want Disney to stop making garbage like acolyte. Stop watching garbage like acolyte Stop watching Disney Stop watching Disney+ Do not support this crap When people say stuff like " I'm going to watch it just to laugh at it" Do you think Disney cares if you laugh at it If they got views, they will keep producing it. Period.
Of course Disney cares. And the Star Wars fans that remain, depite being bashed, labeled and spit by Disney, also care about the franchise. You don't give up the jedi code when the Sith turn the Republic into the Empire.
If Disney cares about the fans and the franchise the script that George Lucas gave them for 7,8 and 9 would have been used. Darth Maul becoming the new villain and filling in the power vacuum from the collapse of the empire would have made at lot more sense and a lot more fans happy Instead they give us an unbelievable garbage DEI character that does the unthinkable without any training whatsoever. No learning curve, no flaws to work out and grow, no realistic personality flaws, just instant superhero...Rey, is Perhaps the worst character in cinematic history, then for toppers,Perhaps the greatest Jedi at least for that time, reduced to milking space cows, iconic characters like the great han solo disposed of like cheap garbage? Surely you cannot possibly say with a straight face that Disney and KK care about the franchise. Quite fray, I believe they hate the franchise
@@bigjimtenbillion I agree completely. I mean they care about their money and we care about Star Wars. And we are labeled villains and by their sycophant gen Zs who are afraid of criticizing anything.
@@danieldbdb well that's a lot of the problem, the younger generations don't appreciate Star wars and the characters we know and love. I was 7 years old when a new hope came out, I grew up with Star wars, when the prequels came out I was so excited, I took off work for all three for the opening day/week. Every question I had as a child who grew up loving Star wars was answered. These younger folk don't understand, because they don't have the connection we do. So it's just another movie to them, like for instance "the transformers" or " fast and furious series" that type of stuff, is just mass produced movies for the masses Star wars is in a completely different league, what Disney did with/to Star wars is criminal and unacceptable, when I saw episode 7 at the theater I was flabbergasted, I was so angry did not know where to start. They just completely butchered everything, and I mean everything, lore, canon, nothing was off the table for them & that's why I'm so angry, simple stuff the stormtroopers are all clones of jango fett, so the finn character could not have even existed, just disrespectful treatment of the source material. It's almost like they did it on purpose, I think we should all be done with Disney and Star wars and they'll have to sell to someone who respects the franchise, I didn't bother with episodes 8 and 9, didn't bother with "solo" , andor, the mandalorian or anything else, I wasn't about to trust them after what they did to Luke and Han, I had had enough.
@@bigjimtenbillion I couldn't agree more. Disney looks like some trolls. They broke the lore in so many ways. They make Star Wars like X-Men. Rey looks like a mutant, who was born knowing. That idiot KK cares more about empowering women and her political agenda than making good movies. She is destroying Star Wars and pulling the victim card to blackmail Disney so they get horrified of being cancelled by the SJWs in case they fire that narcissist. The problem with "marvelizing" SW, is that Marvel is shallow with no lore. People like Star Wars because of many other things. Disney took a huge bump, because those idiot kids just go to the cinema and watch a "superhero" movie with swords and that's it. Don't consumr anything else. So the narcissist realized she needs the old fans. And lashing out and slandering them in the most coward and desperate way to save her skin won't work. What director of any franchise lashes out at fans and still remains there? She is a coward and a woke manipulator. This woman is dangerous, a narcissist and a walking red flag.
The biggest concern i have is that disney will view this as branching out from the empire/skywalkers is a failure and give us more of the same crap we already have. I didnt want more acolyte but i do want more stories and tv outside of the skywalker saga. Lets hope disney sees the correct reason as to why this failed. Edit: I want to add I really appreciate that you are not celebrating this failure. too many people are cheering and speaking ill of the creative team and actors which that is completely uncalled for. Either be constructive in your criticism or don't bother but don't attack the people who are doing their job.
Or, we can say whatever we want. Do you have any idea how much good 180 million could do? Down the drain by woke arrogant fools who refuse to listen to the fans. I say let them have it!
At this point Disney should just give Star Wars to a studio that knows what thier doing. They do the work and take the blame and they get a cute of all profit.
