Yeah. There's nothing wrong with a female lead, especially in canons like Star Wars, where having the force can pretty much cancel out many of the physical differences between men and women but, the empowered girlboss stereotype they keep pushing has to go.

@@Godzillafan1980 a lot of the novels and games from the extended universe are actually quite good. The post-Return of the Jedi world building is actually really interesting, thanks to Timothy Zahn, and there's a surprising amount of variety since it's not always just about Jedi drama The animated stuff is cool when you're twelve, but once you age past that it only survives on the power of nostalgia

I still think the prequels are absolutely terrible though....just in a different way. Badly written, badly aged CGI, overall a really "cartoonish" feel...and the prequels even contradict the original trilogy in several ways.

Hugh deserves some credit for that as well. Initially, they were refusing to greenlight another Deadpool movie. That changed when they found out Jackman actively wanted to be a part of it, because they're hoping that him being in Deadpool means he'll be open to doing more X-Men movies.

Most of Disney's money actually comes from their parks, with all of their shows basically serving as advertisements for the parks, which is why they've been able to keep pushing this garbage as long as they have but, they a fair amount of their money comes from merch as well. Their problem is they've reached the saturation point where they've made so much trash that people don't want their merch anymore and, it's causing them to lose attendance at their parks as well.

The Mandalorian S1&2 is probably the most financially successful TV series ever made. But they screwed it up. 😅

While Fox was acquired by Disney the following year (and FX came with it), _Shogun_ was insulated from being impacted by this because it was a co-production with Michael De Luca Productions. (De Luca is one of Hollywood's top heavies; he is now the co-chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, if you can believe that. De Luca is one of the very few people in Hollywood that Bob Iger doesn't dare piss off.) In other words, give me a break. Saying _Shogun_ was "produced by Disney" is semi-true in terms of rights ownership, but it is completely untrue in a _creative_ sense. Of course, that only applies to the first "season". Like the original 1980 ABC production, _Shogun_ was conceived from the jump as a limited miniseries. Now, the sequel-mad DIgerSNEYCORP is planning two more "seasons" of _Shogun,_ which sounds just peachy. Continuing the story is not _necessarily_ a horrible idea, but changing circumstances (and waning engagement by the creative principals) will definitely change things going forward. I suppose we should all get ready for the crappy CGI remake _Shogun of Pride Rock_ in 2030.

They were not cunning with the title of The Mandalorian. Favreau was backstabbed by Failoni when the later was promoted and outranked him and hijacked the show for himself. Favreau was the one who came up with the pitch for the series. S1 was the best because it was an experiment if a live action SW show will be successful, especially after the fiasco with the sequels. After the success of S1, which was its own thing with new characters, Failoni´s bad fanfic tendencies were already starting to show with his shoehorned Mary Sues from his animated shows. There was no need to put Ahwoka into The Mandalorian (despite the fact I liked her in it) and there was even less of a need to hammer Bo-Karen of all garbage pseudocharacters into it. I guarantee you if it was a brand new male character introduced as a manipulative power-hungry snake and rival for the darksaber S3 would end as Favreau originally wanted: with Din as the uniter and ruler of Mandalore and the rival as a corpse. The absurd excuse "anYonE CaN Be ThE ManDaLoRiAn" makes no sense because it wasn´t planned, it is Failoni doing his bad fanfic s*** with Bo-Karen and Hidalgo running damage control. THE Mandalorian means one particular person, Din Djarin who is literally called The Mandalorian in the subtitles. Bo-Karen wasn´t even a part of the series in the beginning. I don´t think she was supposed to be alive after the Great Purge. Everything she does in S3 (piles up stolen ships on developped worlds, runs around without her helmet, zero secrecy but zero consequences, everyone including Lizzzo knows her name and treats her like a queen...) directly contradicts everything established in S1 where the Mandos were the last survivors living in secrecy and random side characters were constantly commenting how rare they´re in the galaxy and also made it clear they only met the ones who don´t remove their helmets. The rewrites of S3 are painfully obvious and confirmed in an old interview with P. Pascal who was supposed to have the most of face time scenes in S3 according to the original script. Then the soy cowboy hijacked the show and hammered the square peg Bo-Karen into the round hole with a hydraulical hammer. Of course you can hammer a square peg into a round hole with a hydraulical hammer but you can´t expect the whole construction will not crack and collapse. Bo-Karen is and always will be a villain with severe NPD who deserves to pay in full for her atrocities. And that plank of wood who plays her is equally insufferable and manipulative, like when she was like "Din is still the main character, don´t worry guys" RIGHT AFTER Hidalgo and Failoni came up with ""anYonE CaN Be ThE ManDaLoRiAn" b*ll*hit and RIGHT AFTER her garbage-tier Mary Sue just stole everything Din achived in the previous seasons from him. Well, not everything because he still has Grogu but I bet Darth Felonious is working on that too.

Would be interesting to get a valuation of Disney star wars because I'm very certain it's not even covering its opportunity cost let alone producing profit
