The Japanese terms for brother are Aniki and Nii-San. Neither of which have anything to do with the character of Anakin Skywalker mentioned above! 😂 Anakin is like a brother to Obi-Wan sure but his name is still spelled with an A. Let’s just be clear. If you are going to make fun of someone getting characters names mixed up then let’s actually properly say the characters names.
It's better then I thought in every way, I've had a hard time with Disney starcwars. I dislike more then I like but I actually enjoyed the first 2 episodes. Only fear I still have with the show is the same as I had prior to watching it. As an old EU fan who loves the plagueis novel this show has the potential to to totally ruin the chance of the story of plagueis from ever being integrated into canon.
So, Shan is just going to ignore the very words of Obi Wan in the first film, ' For over a 1000 generations the Jedi have been the guardians of peace throughout the galaxy'. IF the Jedi have been around that long, then this series makes no sense. ALSO, the use of the trope of stating one's PRONOUNS makes not sense because by the time of Phantom Menace no one was walking around doing that. It was like the way Valley speech became a thing in the 80s 'Totally', but by the 2000 it was cringe. Is that what they are implying this weird use of 'pronouns' is going to be? A fad that years from now we will all cringe upon hearing about?
literally this series can only work if every... single.. person who encounters the "sith" antagonist dies or is rendered unable to tip off the order on the sith's comeback. any other ending contradicts so many statements in the first 6 films. that's kind of why I was hoping they would go further back than 100 years (especially if they are going to make a new sith instead of the one that was alive during this time)
@OrionInSpace Roses are red, the sky is blue, we all shall die one day, Disney is a corporation that doesn't even care of our existence and Star Wars is a fictional Space Opera....learn to take a joke, you'll live a happy life. 🥂🍻🥂
@@OrionInSpace Well, I was just unsure because if you're judging some random guy's use of time while you're sat there commenting away with no sense of irony it's fairly amusing.
@@AustinBurke Disney has just ruined it for me, it feels more like Sesame Street than Star Wars.I tapped out finally after the first episode of mando s3. It’s almost hard to believe how much they’ve screwed up the entire franchise.
@@Seacai150 They really haven't. There's so much more good than bad. Visions, Ahsoka, The Thrawn Novels, Dark Disciple, Jedi Survivor, The Bad Batch, Rebels, The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2, Tales Of The Jedi, The Clone Wars Final Season, Solo, Rogue One, Andor, etc. are all great.
@@AustinBurke i agree, I will say I ABSOLUTELY LOVED andor and rogue one was great. I’ve watched both many times. I loved the writing, the acting, the story. Best of all it feeds right into the original trilogy and messes up nothing canon. I will be watching season 2 and praying they let Tony do his thing again.
I feel like with these franchises there's a lot of cool things they can do and cool places they can go story wise. But they refuse, cause they're too risk averse. It's a minor miracle something like Andor even got made.
I think my biggest worry about this series is the deconstruction Jedi. Meaning deconstructing the very black and white nature of the Jedi (good) and the Sith (evil). Maybe I’m just more interested in classic stories good verses evil and lately in media there’s been too much in the gray. It’s a very post modern view that I think has seeped too far into the zeitgeist. I’d like to see us venture back to the classic feel that made stories like Star Wars timeless. I’m not saying they can’t be modern and can’t have modern themes. But part of what makes Star Wars great is the good overcoming evil. That’s always the appeal to me.
@@DeathbySkullfxxx I’ve heard the name, but I never got a chance to fully play the games. Were there elements of what I just mentioned about morally gray characters?
Dude we have thousands of simple stories like that. Those got cliche. Why not deconstruct what the Jedi are about? We got an entire prequel trilogy of the Jedi being the heroes. But we can't have one that shows the flaws in their ways? Do ppl not want art to challenge them anymore?
@@mania4270 I’m fine with seeing flaws, certainly. But even the prequels pushed for that because they believed in a prophecy of balance of the force. I get those black and white stories got cliched, but now an era has come when the stories of Morally gray characters have also gotten cliched.
It's a different show with a different team behind the scenes So it isn't like Ahsoka Most showsbtypicallyvhave wonky first seasons The question is whether or not there is enough there the show can improve on progressively
@@shippendales8543the problem is they will take 2-3 years to hive us another season What's the point if it is wonky Like walking dead had some dead seasons i would still watch it hoping it will improve next year and it did Now i forget what even happened previously
There should be no Sith in the timeline of this show. If there is then no Jedi and Sith will live to tell about it. Is this were this show is going or will it break with established lore?
It’s sad to me that I can’t bring myself to get excited for anything Star Wars even if it’s my favorite film franchise ever. I just hope I can at least find some kinda entertainment in this…

Garbage writing. Another force-fed girl boss crap. The Padawan knows better than her Jedi teacher, who's portrayed as a back street frat boy. Way to go, Disney! Another waste of money.
This show is Star Wars CW. The acting is so bad no difference in how the twins act.. The sets are basically the theme park and day actors. I can't believe how bad this is.
I would wait till the how ends , if the payoff is good for the mysteries that is building out I would check out the show. Austin hopefully do a review when the show fully ends.
Wish they had any dialogue that built the characters bonds or just made them feel real. All dialogue is connected to a mission or plot point no natural talking or any normal conversation
To curb that Disney needs what they're creating to be consistent and consistently good, and not rely on the brand name alone. It's quite patchy at the moment. Reviewers are not generally willing to look stupid by tearing down something which is universally praised
If everyone looks looks on and say this is "not unique enough" - and, yawn the 'choreography' is so, "familiar"...that's going to be a problem, because, there's the "change" of perception and thinking that is lost in the plot
@@Deuteromis To me Disney (Dismal is what I call them) Studios Star Wars is a separate timeline from the EU and original Star Wars. They can do whatever they like in that case.
Thanks Austin for the great review. I’m intrigued to see what the show does and I hope the final four episodes stick the landing. I wish more Star Wars shows could live up to the quality of Andor so I’m hoping that overall this can be a solid follow up to Andor as we wait for season 2.
"They have no gay feminist agenda "......yeah they do have a gay feminist agenda ".....so what if the force is making babies for lesbians, you bigot. Star Wars is a joke and so are the people defending it
I thought the first 2 episodes were cool, I liked the character design of the acolyte, the ninja vibe. Didn't really like some of the choices they made, like some of the shots lingered way too long, and when the first time a ship crashes i was surprised that it didnt blow up since it fell from space?? overall its cool to watch so far, not crazy good, but idk im enjoying it.
See I can immediately tell how old you are. Film criticism is more than that… Requires at least a bit of nuance. How do you know to trust someone that says “it sucks.” You just gonna blindly trust people without an explanation as to why they feel that way? That’s a weird way to live your life. And scary tbh.
What's wrong with the Acolyte. What are you saying about the show? Are you saying that the story lacks depth because it's the same fight choreography's that we've seen with the lightsabers over and over again? Is that what you're saying? Are you saying that the political situation in the galaxy is unclear? Is that what you're saying?
The force is neither male nor female nor a pronoun. Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi : The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.
Well... it would technically be all that stuff and so much more other stuff because of the whole _binding everything together motto._ So... you didn't pick your words careful enough.
@@Unworshipediety No. I’m correct. It is an ENERGY FIELD. Just because it’s a by product of a living organism doesn’t mean it is said organism. This is Sci Fi , we have alien races who do not conform to a gender. So to say it is female or male is completely wrong. They’re alien races who also control the Force. Alien races who aren’t male or female. Do you understand now? A true sci Fi watcher knows this.
I think they should have really sold the _Acolyte_ idea from the get go. Like having the evil character in training doing something really evil. Dispatching another warrior isn't often seen as evil, more like just bad. Hopefully they have the Acolyte kill some grandpa's or children or something. We really need to feel the Darkside sithness like sooner rather than later.
Apple and Disney have a tendency to stretching the shows too long. They need to be like 4-6 episodes. Like Long films. The quality would be better and more impactful.
