I recently read an article that said Gypsy had said living in prison was more free and fulfilling for her than living with her mother and how she was so happy now even though she was behind bars. That speaks for itself.
PickUpTheDarnBook Yeah I saw that video gosh her story is so haunting yet intriguing it really makes you want to find out more I feel so bad for gypsy having to go through all of that I think she should have got therapy instead of jail time
I think the scariest part about this is that there’s probably more people being abused the way Gypsy was right now than we think there is. We would have never found out she was never disabled had she not met Nick
Hypochondriacs are in there Millions and they have kids , they will be Millions of kids out there suffering just like this poor girl . The World is the Asylum and the Doctors and Enforcement don't care unless it comes out to the open .
Gypsy Rose was on Dr. Phil telling her story. I felt for her, being trapped, abused, and in the mind set that you have been sick your whole when it was actually all a lie.
Are literally all parents in western world this bad??? I know I sound dumb, but thru internet one thing that I've gathered the most is that people in the west git shittiest parents. Like as an asian I just don't get it
No-one is talking about Nick's life sentence that he got for this girl when he should get psychological help. The guy did a heroic act by freeing gypsy.
i agree, i know the tv show does not present things exactly like they happened but i felt really really bad for Nick. He’s mentally ill and i don’t think anyone took that into consideration when they gave him that sentence. I honestly believe he deserves better
Thankyou for saying this! In interviews with him he seems like a good hearted but lost and lonely kid who needs psychological help more than punishment. I really feel for him.
Think about the fact that this isn't the only case of Munchausen by Proxy. There are other victims that are still stuck in this trauma right in this moment.
This happened about 5 minutes from my house. It's weird driving by there on the way into town. Last time I saw it, the ramp was still there. I don't know how anyone could live there.
Am I the only one that believes that the girl was actually innocent ? Like she's been through so much physical and emotional abuse that the only way she thought she could leave that vicious circle was by murdering her mother.
Me and my mother do believe she is in the wrong place she doesn’t deserve to be in the place where she is now But we also believe the mother is not right off by being murdered Gypsy should live with her father and step mom and get the therapy she deserves Dee Dee deserves to be in the place where gypsy is right Now
She is a victim for sure but no crime shiuld remain unpunished I guess... but the ones who really deserve to be behind bars are all those doctors who just believed her mom... so sad
it wasn’t all the drs. her mom would move from dr to dr until something made the result she wanted a reality. plus her mom was a very smart and cunning person. she would say that the files were lost in different hurricanes and other lies that could be very much true
I like how Gypsy was extremely honest though, she even pleaded guilty and she only has to serve 10 years, and she's happier in prison. I guess she's felt more free than she ever has been.
Its unbelievable how you can fantasize a killing like this. She can pretend she is happier than ever in a prison but the fact she prisoned herself more after a disgusting plan she came up with by manipulating a low IQ person to do the job for her should be a reason to give her life in prison. Killing people is wrong even if its your abuser. It gets you in trouble. You talk to someone professional that not everything is what it seems in my life and get the help.
@@SSaNNEE100 this girl was literally treated like a seven year old child who was homeschooled and had to go everywhere with her mother. How would have been able to ask someone without her mother knowing and possibly the mom killing her first?
@@aperson7151 Her mom didn't even know about Gypsy's laptop and phone at first or Nick. Clearly she could of called them and ran out the door. She could walk.
If you didn’t know, this is actually based off of a true story that happened recently, a few years ago. A mother made false medical records for her “disabled” daughter. She gave her daughter shots/meds/feeding tubes/wheelchairs for false medical issues. Eventually the daughter fell in “love” with a boy online and talked him into killing her mother. So they did.... and now she’s in jail. And miraculously- stands on her own two feet despite “needing” a wheelchair when her mother was alive.
i thought her acting was absolutely awful in the kissing booth but she’s really proved to have potential talent in this and i’m really looking forward to it !! i wonder how the genuine gypsy reacts when it comes out !! she doesn’t deserve to be in prison she has reasons !!! lots of them !!!
Bhawna03 shame she signed up to take part in that movie because it’s really was dreadful and it going to project on other people that that is how she can act because it was a very popular movie but hopefully she can prove herself again in this movie
The fact that she is actually happier in prison makes be feel so awful for her.Her own mother made her life a complete lie and did so many things to her just to get money and attention that is sick.
Lets talk about how they played them so well. Joey King nailed Gypsys voice, Nick did an amazing job by acting like this kinda pervy mysterious creepy old man vibe, and Patricia NAILED acting like DeeDee. The way she smashed the computer, the way she screamed at Joey, or the way she pulled Joey in the wheelchair, so much emotion!! It really showed that nothing is EVER what it seems.
This looks amazing, I can’t wait to watch it! Does anyone know if Gypsy will benefit in any way (monetarily or otherwise) from all of the shows/documentaries being made about her life? I’m not sure how that really works, but the poor girl has been exploited her whole life and I really hope she is taken care of when she is released.
Barbara Ribe yeah I read somewhere that she gave information to them for the show (I think it was this show anyways) and was involved somehow, I just wanted to know if they were paying her. I honestly hope so, idk I just hope she can have a better life after her release.
this is the most mindfuck series I've ever seen. This whole story is shocking me and I have already watched and read everything about this case and this is one of the most insane thing I've ever heard, seen and read. I still can't get over the fact. Life writes the "best" stories...
AppleGang brunson The girl is being drugged and abused by her mother fault and her mother scams people with it. If you want to know a spoiler scroll down. Oh and She kills the mother. We see the story unfold. It’s a great show
I’m obsessed as of today. I didn’t even know they made a show about it!! What?!?? I just finished the documentary about 20min ago then RU-vid’d some more and discovered the show!!! So excite.
Ive been following up on this case since I saw her on dr phil. It’s painful to know she was pushed so far by someone that was supposed to protect her. Shame
I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for what I'm about to say but..... I don't blame gypsy. She was stuck in a horrible place with a manipulative mother and she couldn't get out.
It's insane seeing how far of an actress Joey King has evolved to. I remember seeing her in the Romona and Beezus movie and I adored that movie, and now seeing her in this is just insane. She's going places for sure.
She had an extreme case of munchausen by proxy, its unfortunate that the system failed her daughter for so long that Gypsy felt that she had no other choice.
Haven't been a fan of Joey King at all especially as of late but this looks like it's about to prove everyone wrong. Don't know a ton about this story but from what I'm gathered it's one that needs to be told and shared to the world. Munchausen Syndrome is a real disease and this very well looks like it's going to capture that. Overall this looks very riveting and disturbing and I can't wait to see how it turns out!
@@MrElionor Basically it's the belief that a mother constantly thinks something is wrong with their son or daughter and keeps them heavily medicated and weakens them until they essentially do develop some sort of illness. If you've seen Sharp Objects last year that was also a very accurate interpretation of it.
@@KevinFalkmrbroadway456 That may be the plot of the movie but that is not what Munchhausen is that is when you harm yourself and make yourself sick for attention
MrElionor no. it IS about Munchausen By Proxy. the daughter wasn’t doing it for attention. it was the mom forcing her to act sick. you should research it more because it’s actually a very interesting story.
@@heleynaaaa Well Munchhausen by proxy is different from just Munchhausen I was actually saying the daughter does not have have Munchhausen syndrome was I wrong?
This is why abused victims are scared to speak up for them selves because they think no one will believe all of the abused they received from the abuser.
Most people are talking about Joey, but can we talk about Calum for a moment? He played the character Nick so well, even up to the way he walked and even his hand movements. I know that sound kinda weird but it’s so true, he really did an amazing job.
i live right in the middle of the area where the real life events of this happened. before gypsy killed her mom, they’d used to go to walmart, where MY mom worked, all the time. they were very well known by the community because of their talent of standing out. my mom tells me that she used to see them at walmart constantly while she was working. she didn’t think anything of them at the time. just that they could always be picked out in a crowd. until one day, they stopped coming and it was announced that gypsy had killed her mom. it makes my spine shiver knowing how close all of that happened to me. now there are shows and movies being made about it
Wow! An now the whole world gets to see her story and some of us love her honestly i personally do and that doesn't mean im happy her mom passed away, no! i just love her cause shes such a good person and at the time she had to do what she had to do and that was the best option that could come to her mind i hope the lord forgives her ill even pray for her forgiveness and i hope she lives a happy, healthy positive life when she comes out ,i even love the fact that the movie comes out on my birth month and it's just 2 days away from my actual Bdy.
Imagine this if Dez became a criminal in The Act: Bekzod (talking to Dez; ashamed): Dez. Well, uhh. Duty well uh. Well, your behavior is unusually turned into a delinquent for the last few days. In the upcoming episodes, It was you who killed Kristin Parker (played by Patricia Arquette who portrayed as Dee Dee in The Act) as revenge for hurting Ramona's soul and sending a public message to Facebook that Dee Dee is dead. What would your friends and the judge think about you? Austin & Ally Fanboy (yelling at Dez; ashamed too): Why?! Why did you do that?! Bekzod (to Austin & Ally Fanboy): Not now, Ted. Wait until I'm done here. Bekzod (to Dez; felt guilty and distraught): You are officially discharged as my idol. Bekzod (to Austin & Ally Fanboy): Okay. Now Ted. Austin & Ally Fanboy (yelling at Dez; feeling ashamed): Why?! Why did you do that?!
Been with them for 2years and used Netflix for about the same. I'll say you won't be disappointed with them, especially when you use ALexa. Krazy right?
I cant wait until this comes out! I've done a lot of research on this case and have watched a few documentaries about it too. It's so interesting and I feel like Gypsy had a justifiable reason for killing her mother. She was mentally and physically abusing Gypsy and forced her to believe that she was severely I'll when she really wasnt.
This past months netflix hasn't have any good new content. Every netflix original is a version of Riverdale in differents generes... I'm not 15 I don't like my shows to be written for 15 years old kids.
At first I watched the real life documentary, then I watched this show over 10 times just because of how great the acting is, the way they portrayed the storyline, wicked crazy ride, such great casting for this show honestly
Still kinda sad that Gypsy are in prison. Yeah she is very guilty of her mom death but... The only choice was either her mom gone or she's gonna be suffering forever .
bacon froyo the police wouldn’t believe her, her mother signed some documents that prove her child is psycho. So whatever she tells them wouldn’t be believed, as a matter of fact telling the police would make things worse.
She got 10 years in prison irl which is so dumb when she was getting mentally and physically abused her whole life. If she didn’t do something about it she would of been the one dying.
@@alex_limelight1792 Just search Gypsy Rose Blanchard. As far as I know two documentaries exist about it, and i'd recommend watching both because you get a lot of info out of one that you don't get out of the other and vice versa. The first one is called Gypsy's Revenge and the other is called Dead Mommy Dearest or something like that.
Patricia did an amazing job on this! They all did. Sad story...Gypsy was extremely abused. On the outside looking in, one would think all she had to do was just leave. Especially with her mom's health failing. But I truly believe that her mother placed so much fear in her for years, that she felt she had to take drastic measures. Proof that mental chains tend to be harder to break than physical ones.
I LOVE the part where she says “she’s never gonna let us be together” and then it shows nick in the red light. I get chills every time. I wish the real gypsy and nick could see this trailer tbh. The whole thing is completely mind blowing
Glad to see this movie! This happened in our town & I have been following ever since the murdered occurred. I feel so bad for her,I can't imagine how she must have felt. I don't agree with the decision that she made but I can't imagine how relieved she must have felt to get away from her abuser.
I don’t think Dee Dee was portrayed very well, in the act she appears quite creepy, like if you met her you would think something wasn’t right. But in videos and interviews of Dee Dee that I’ve seen I think she seems much more believable and friendly, you can see why she got away with it for so long
@@yes-vm1op not really, in the scenes with just gypsy and Dee Dee make sense but it’s the way she interacted with the neighbours and doctors ect. She didn’t come across in the way the real deedee did. I get that it’s dramatised but in the tv show it feels like everyone’s being completely oblivious to the warning signs but I don’t think it was exactly like that
one of my distant relatives met gypsy and her mother at a childs cancer facility in new orleans. she has pictures of her gypsy and dee dee together. She says that she never would have imagined somthing like this could happen
This is so sad but so real. I've lived through similar atrocities with many of my foster mothers. Now I'm making a movie about it so I can educate others and protect children from abusers. I had to speak out from a child's view about the dangers of strangers caring for me. My book Adoption Not an Option gives a voice to children like Gypsy and me who are in the hands of predators. The Act is so heart wrenching and deplorable.
Everything about this case is heartbreaking. I don’t understand how someone could get such a harsh sentence when the jury knew how badly she was abused.
Her mother robbed her of her life so thats what her mother got in return. People keep saying killing is wrong but in a universe where chaos rules... death is inevitable and no human truly knows what is right or wrong. While we slaughter animals by the thousand, u dare say what is right and wrong.... make ur own choices.
At first I had this on an ad and I was like: bruh let me watch my video. and then afterwards I was like: actually this good. and now I want to watch this xD
The real documentary blew my mind & here is remake!! I am stunned with joey king acting skills. She looks almost identical to gypsy. Hats off for her outstanding skills😊
