Living in Allston to work in Medical Center Area is so far away? I’m a student and I will only receive 1.500$ from my scholarship… thinking to rent a room there in Allston to be cheaper
Boston residential properties has an exemption so if you live in the property you bought, your real estate tax is lowered by about $3k per year. Assessed values are usually lower. I've lived in Boston for 13 years and honestly feel the the property tax is low.
Love these videos but I'd say the #'s are lower different for the adjoining Boston neighborhoods like Allston, Brighton, Watertown, parts of Somerville, etc.
I work in the boston area, but I bought a condo in Nashua NH (right on the border 35 mins away)... I bought this condo in the busy area where all the stores are. With my income I am very happy in NH, and with my income in Boston I could barely afford a room in shared housing. I got a cheap economical car for travels and work 3 days a week (full time). There are ways to make it and enjoy boston, you just have to be open minded and smart.
I agree completely. Boston has areas that aren't outrageous with price, and there's definitely a lot you can find if you're open minded enough to live outside the city
It's $7-$9 for a Bud Light bottle at a bar in Boston. The only thing we get a break on is gas, as we're not paying as much as you would in DC or LA, but odds are you can't afford a car, and if you can, you cant afford to insure it or park it as we have the worst drivers and roads in the country.
So the median was just for the city, but yeah it really depends. In Back Bay 800k might be a studio but if you look in Roxbury, Mission Hill, Dorchester, etc. it could buy a 2 or 3 bed
lol!! You’re going to sell a Roxbury/ Mattapan condo to someone from the Midwest ? You’re a snake oil salesman. There’s a reason why it’s nicknamed Murderpan
I was born and raised in South Boston. I live 10 minutes outside of Boston and there's a lot that was not said in these videos like if you rent in Boston and have a vehicle. Most apartment building's may charge you$2-$300 a month for a parking spot. Parking here is unbelievably hard. Like I said I'm 10 minutes outside of Boston and rent for a 1 bedroom is around $2500. The property taxes differ from town to town. But I know in my town they pretty much doubled! Because taxes in the country had hit a new high!
Has anyone any suggestion for a foreign trainee with no saving ending up 0 $ mid of the month😢 I even now can't move out of boston😂😂😂 any way to repair credit score asap? I am very much trying hard but credit score always below 700 and rent taking 60% of my salary not having a treasure or daddy money or be able to do second job. Going to live in a room also traumatic for me I am really clueless what to do
Is Boston, MA, or anywhere in MA, military friendly where is comes to renting and buy? I'm currently enlisted and might be moving here for my next duty station @living Boston
I will be moving in the Boston area in August or September. Will definitely give you a call 2 months prior to my moving day. Looking for something small & safe for around $1500 😅
Bostonians don't coddle bullshitters or bullshit. This has nothing to do with hostility. I'm calling bullshit on this false claimer. We don't want you in our city raising the already high prices as it is. You don't care about how transplants are making it difficult for my family to even afford the 2 bedroom apartment where 9 of them live. You also could give a rats ass about the fact that transplants post signs all throughout neighborhoods of people who lived in Boston their entire life saying for new policies to be put in place to continue to demolish and renovate certain areas so that they are more appealing to transplants. You could care less about anything having to do with Boston. Worry about your own home city. @@user-bz5io6ph8w
if you make under a certain income level, you can apply for affordable housing. a lot of midde income people depend on living with family, spouses, or multiple roommates.
@@tdotimothy1616 Prices are insane. Even making $100,000 it's really not possible to live in the city unless you have 2 roommates. I think any income less than $78,000 is considered "low income" in the city.
