"The Addams Family," released in 1964, is a darkly comedic film that brings to life the eccentric and macabre world of the beloved cartoon characters created by Charles Addams. Lurch was my favorite followed by Morticia. Wednesday was cute. considering she lived with that Kooky family my favorite episode was when Wednesday was teaching lurch to dance.

My favorite characters were Gomez and Morticia. They combined bizarre tastes in food, art and education with sincere romantic love for each other. They were the role models I did not have at home (where my parents fought almost every day).

I remember seeing Vitto Scoti at the "Magic Castle" in Hollywood in the early 90's! He was also a performing member and of course very funny!!!

Some "square" (term used then for clueless people) executive canceled this show after only 2 seasons. It has become an icon of our culture since then, like Star Trek, which was also cancelled by some clown in the Board Room after only a couple seasons.

Fun Fact: Caroline Jones' Morticia walk was because they dressed her in an old-fashioned corset. Initially she was moving that way because the corset was uncomfortable, then she incorporated it into the character. Also, on the Mike Douglas Show she joked about not wearing underwear because the Addams Family set was so hot.
