Morticia and Gomez would never treat or talk about their kids that way. And Morticia was never a miserable, sulky person, she just found happiness in the macabre. They butchered her character for the sake of plot.

Exactly. In the classic movie Cousin Itt's wife, Margaret, dress a lot of pastels and pinks and stuff and they never considered her less of an Addams. They accepeted her and she accepted them. The cool thing about the Adams is that behind the macabre looks they are actually a lovely family. It makes me sad to see morticia being portrayed as an cliche mother but in black clothes

@@nomdeplume2213 IKR..i just watched the classic 60s version and there's an episode about Pugsley suddenly wanting to become normal and joining boyscouts and camping and playing sports and them especially morticia was devastated but they never showed it outright to the kids..she just expressed her concerns to a psychologist and was very supportive of her son by buying him more 'normal' stuff as if it's just a phase..she never chastised him directly and was always so pleasant about everything..same with the whole family even in the 90s animation..thats like the very essence of this show, but this animation ruined it

@@superdol18 Well, the difference is that in the movie Wednesday was actively trying to anger and irritate Morticia out of sheer boredom. That and how in this movie's world, the Addams were chased after everywhere they went, so she's a little more concerned as well.

I love how they use the color pink for the confetti, and when Wednesday changes her look. It's a nice nod to the original Addams Family TV show set. In the OG the only way to get the colors to actually look grey and dull in the black and white series was to use a lot of pink, it just showed up on the camera better. It's really interesting how that works, like in WandaVision, for the black and white episodes they had to make Vision blue and not red, the red wouldn't translate to black and white well on camera.

Somehow I really feel like that wasn’t the inspiration, and it was just more of a coincidence. More like pink is just a stereotypical normal girly color. Unless they said that somewhere. lol

That's like saying "It's interesting how dogs became domesticated" and then just going "SCIENCE, you're wrong." The response makes no sense. Also I know color theory, I studied it for 5 years actually. Doesn't make it any less interesting, in fact the more I have studied it the more I find it INTERESTING. lol.

6:45 the start of my goth lifestyle in a nutshell. I started out in middle school, but my school had uniforms. So thats what I looked like, but yellow, white and blue. And a lot of black nail polish, jewerly, and edgy hair. The dancing is also accurate becauze my mom put my painfully introverted self in choir. And in high school, show choir. Just imagine a raging goth black girl, singing which a bunch or normal people the lyrics to "525,600 minutes" from Rent so they could preform it at a retirement home.

I think a lot of people misses the message. Or at least the tone. People in the 90s movies sort of "Ignored" the Addams family, they found them creepy but shut up or moved along. When in real life, the first thing we would do with this people is "shame" them. Something that happens in this movie. And we see how the Addams are genuinely unequipped to deal with it. Morticia is not a bad mother, she is stressed for the things that are happening to them. Wednesday is a teenager, that will end up rebelling and she is "curious" about the "new" things that to us are normal. Meanwhile parker is charmed by Wednesday and her attitude.

Im so glad i didnt waste my time watching these... it goes against the entire premise of the original show. Tish was actually a good mother and wasn't depressed, she was perfectly happy and content in the dark things. Ugh.... this is so disappointing
