I used to drink in a pub(bar)called the Angell (yes it was spelled like that)in Brixton and in 1975 this tune was kicking. To anyone that remembers this bar the D.J.was Trevor Bailey and the owner was Tony Waller, both Jamaicans and both now departed R.I.P. My Girlfriend at the time was a Bajan and she used to call this tune the cowboy song due to the guitar interlude in the middle of the song - if you listen you can sort of get what she meant. Brixton was nice those times and anybody still alive and stii drinking and still in the area can be found in the wetherspoons pub,the beehive on Brixton road near the tube station. If any of you want to know what it was like to be black in Brixton in the 1960s or 1970s pop into this pub and have a chat with the old timers. Alas no music in this pub.
