I remember watching this on the Sub Pop VHS thing in high school and thinking "This is what my 20's wiill be like." Well, I wasn't wrong.

I picked up Black Love at some record store near Westerly Rhode Island in the early 2000s. The art instantly attracted me. I had no idea what it was. I've been a big AW fans since then.

I love this song, and this video, also. Although discretion is needed, it reminds me when MTV used to show this video clip late at night. And, of course, my youth at alternative underground clubs in São Paulo, Brazil back in the early 1990s.

I love how by the 2nd time the camera pans back to the guy tying off in the 4th stall, he’s the LEAST of our interest. Like- the first time the camera pans the stalls, they’re all kinda cliche but THEN you see HIM & it’s like, “🙄 ok yeah I get the picture of the theme or whatever🥱🫠” and then it pans back AGAIN and it goes from “oh damn…” to “ohh kayyy🤔” to “WTF is even THIS!!” And then AGAIN at the end it’s just him being tacky boring and cliche ‘dramatically’ tying himself off and it’s like, 😐 ok dude you’re the LEAST of my curiosities right now, lol. I just love stuff that’s THIS intentional. And there’s so many layers in this whole video- I’m not good enough at trying to convey. But I’m glad this exists and I just love Afghan Whigs so much🤌🏾💕🔥 BUT whether I did or not- this vid takes the cake and is def a whole piece
