The African Goose from China? Origins aren't exactly known, but some point to China. Caleb and Jacob Norris tell you everything thing they know about the African Goose. #geese #farmlife #african
My partner and I go to this park in Massachusetts, and it has a bunch of animals. And at that park there is an African goose just like these ones and we absolutely love her. We just refer to her as “goose,” lol, but we crack up every time she’s being super talkative and honking a bunch.
African/Chinese geese are my favorite geese, they’re very magnificent, If I were to get a pet goose, they sure are vocal, I still have no idea why African Geese are called African even though they don’t even come from there. But if I were to get a pet goose I would def get one of those.
We have a flock of these at a city park. I don't know why but the way they walk with their heads up is so funny to me :) They get aggro pretty quickly though, like if you throw them some bread they get real pushy and noisy, demanding you give them more
I don't when my geese came after me I learned to crab them by the neck and hold him . And now they run from me , I refuse to be afraid of my geese and if I become afraid then I don't need to have any geese. Other geese that are not mine yes I am afraid because they are not mine and I can't fight back.
I’m surprised you think the females our louder! Both our ganders are DEFINITELY the loudest lol, our 2 girl geese are much more quiet, maybe it depends on the breed!
@@Gocubs2345 They're dark meat birds, so it's a bit like the dark meat on a heirloom turkey. My sister-in-law taught me to roast them stuffed with onions and apples. You can find recipes in older cookbooks and online. Really, it does just depend on what kind of goose you're cooking, how you cook it, and how old it was. Most young geese in the grocery stores in the US are Embden or hybrids and very young, so they don't have the fat that makes goose so tasty and wonderful.
Thank you for clarifying. Omg about time. I dislike hatcheries calling them just “African geese” they need to start using the term production to clarify whether a breed is mainly production or can be potential show bird type if bred to perfection. Btw one of the female does look a bit Chinese 😂.
This may be the video that’s persuaded me to go with this breed, mostly from the Willie Nelson comment. 😂 I’m between the African and the Chinese white. 🤔
Most domestic geese, of which Africans are one breed, are too large to fly for their wingspan. Some of the lighter females can "catch some air" but they can't get very high. They don't fly, but they will use their wings to help them run and run with flapping. It's very intimidating if you aren't used to them.
