Hey friends in this episode we deal with the aftermath of our outback drive from Coober Pedy along the Oodnadatta Track, We start with changing out a frayed fanbelt in Copley before going to Arkaroola, and then have a blown tyre that prevented us from going to the Flinders Ranges (for now). Finally we get to the bottom of that whining noise that we've had since Oodnadatta.
But it's not all working on the van - you'll see the Feral Platter in the Parachilna pub (Nigel took one for the team and ate that - not me!), the Midnight Oil house in Burra, a couple of good campsites - and the odd pub or two.
Please consider subscribing to our channel - we bring you travel guides and vanlife tips weekly with a peek into our lives on the road.

Wow, gotta admire the perseverance to find the source of the illusive squeak! Loving the big dirty thumbs up and positive attitude, Sue! Thank goodness for great mechanics who can fix the problem, and awesome blokes like Nige who turn their hands to anything!

Another great episode with some interesting spots. So glad you found the problem and it wasn't something ridiculous as far as repairs costs were concerned. I hope you had a lovely birthday. I'll be looking forward to next episode. 😊🤗

Jeez you’ve had some bad luck. Good that Nige is prettty handy with repairs around the van. I get a bit flustered when things go wrong too. Still, I Spose the little set backs you’ve had are far outweighed by the adventures you’ve done. You’re both living the life we all dream of. I also love the outback pub life, just grab a feed & drink and get to stay over. Glad everything g worked out. Enjoying your vids & appreciate the effort you both go to making these vids. Best of luck & safe travels 😃👍

Thanks so much! We hear so many stories of people doing major damage in these outback roads. I think we got off pretty lightly for what we put the old girl through. And you’re right, it was an amazing adventure! Thanks for watching and your comments. We really appreciate it!

That’s a good point David, we did replace the spare belt, probably a good idea to get another spare pulley too! Thanks for watching.

I know... we were seriously hoping that wasn't the case. Good news is we've driven a good 1000km since then and she's running like a dream again.
@nigeltindall1446

Oh for sure! If I'm honest, I think it was the thought of an $11,000+ repair that was the most mentally challenging thing to get around. We can support ourselves for some distance on the road with that sort of money. After draining out the transfer case oil (and not noticing anything sinister) I was quietly confident, but it wasn't until Dave the Legend confirmed that, that I could breath a bit easier! Lol. So indeed, the universe was smiling upon us there. Thanks so much for watching. Cheers, Nigel

The Prairie Hotel, favoured destination for Range Rovers. Once was a great outback pub. Shame.
@nigelandsueadventures
@nigelandsueadventures 10 месяцев назад
And tour busses!! There was definitely no “outback pub” atmosphere here. Can’t say we felt like sticking around. Nigel did enjoy the feral platter though.

@@nigelandsueadventures Sue, I forgot to mention how enjoyable both your and Nigel's presentations are. This genre is thick with dreamers, bogans, pretenders and people in search of their next disaster. You are obviously none of these, and a breath of fresh air. Thank you.
@nigelandsueadventures
@nigelandsueadventures 10 месяцев назад
@timdunn2387 thank you Tim! We would definitely rather avoid disasters, even if there are plenty of the afore-mentioned keen to watch that content! We try to keep it real.

We had a similar issue with the belts on our escort vehicles from the road into Oodnadatta ! Not surprising I guess hey given the conditions.

That was a crazy drive that day! I think we’re all lucky there wasn’t any more damage
