You forgot to mention that in1880 in the US state of Delaware, the age of consent was actually 7 years of age. So I hope you get some Idea how strong this word is and how strong Allah says about the covenant that husband gives to wife. Now you tell me, what covenant you except a six year old chid to agree upon? Covenant is done with the agreement of both the parties. According to Quran, marriage is done only when a girl or boy reaches both sexual maturity as well as mental maturity. Now you decide whose word you are gonna trust upon? Allahs word on Bukhari / Muslim ' word? Please dont blindly say all the words in hadith book are uttered by prophet. Some are really fabricated and against Quran even though they are claimed as sahih. Quran is the only furqan. You need to categorize right and wrong based on Quran first. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) brought and proclomed the right for Arab women to accept or reject the offer for marriage. Its also known that he told his companion Abu Bakr, Aisha's father, to inform him, when Aisha is in the age of puberty, to offer marriage her. This must read the Quran. Quran 65:4 And those who no longer expect menstruation among your women - if you doubt, then their period is three months, and [also for] those who have not menstruated. And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease. "and [also for] those who have not menstruated." So in the Koran it is mentioned that one can have women without menstruation.

The problem is that people keep saying it was normal. There were some civilisations that practised human or even child sacrifice. Understand that by their standard it was normal but it still does not change the fact that it was morally wrong. Same goes for the prophet. Given that he was one, if not, the most important figure in Islam, he should have been a good example of what good moral is, which clearly in this case he is not.

Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allâh and to their husbands), and guard in the husband’s absence what Allâh orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband’s property). As to those women on whose part you see ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allâh is Ever Most High, Most Great. Now you tell me, what covenant you except a six year old chid to agree upon? Covenant is done with the agreement of both the parties. According to Quran, marriage is done only when a girl or boy reaches both sexual maturity as well as mental maturity. Now you decide whose word you are gonna trust upon? As for your argument, then be assured that Aisha (ra) was a woman at the time of consummation of her marriage as proven by the hadith. In Islam, a female is either a child or a woman and she will become a woman as when she enters puberty. Therefore, there is absolutely nothing shameful about this marriage as you have described.

We know the Prophet ﷺ had more than 4 wives but for the rest of the men, it is forbidden and sinful to have more than 4 wives. Also, there is a difference between Sunnah and urf. Urf are things the Prophet ﷺ did because they were his custom like what he wore, ate and etc. Again, no one in the history of Islam has said it is a Sunnah to marry a 6-year-old. Also, I never said that we have Hadith explaining every verse in the Quran. To understand the Quran, we have a methodology that we follow. First, we understand the Quran by the Quran itself then by the Sunnah or hadiths, then by statements of the sahabah, then the tabien, then the classical Arabic of their time, then isriliyaat narrations. Allama Kandhulvi says that the words spoken in connection with Aisha's رضي الله عنها age were tissa ashara, meaning 19, when Hisham only heard (or remembered), tissa, meaning nine. If she was six when her marriage was performed, she would have been only eight years his senior, hardly making him eligible for adoption. That’s when they try and argue “it was normal for those days” etc. yes it was. My great grandparents were married off young but they were the same ages so as their great grandparents. But a 50 year old with a 9 year old? It’s one thing that’s keeping me on my toes about Islam (as much as I like a lot of it) the only reasonable explanation would be that the ages weren’t adequately documented. Ayesha. in one of the hadiths narrates she played with Dolls.when she got married..She was 6 or 7 and muhhamed was 53 years old.he consummated the marrige when she was nine.years of age. Narrated `Aisha: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for `Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.) (Fath-ul-Bari page 143, Vol.13)
