As an Indian Muslim, I have always heard the Hindutva brigade speaking of Gazw-e Hind. But never ever knew what it actually meant. Thankyou Sheikh Yasir Qadi, for explaining it in simplistic terms. What is happening in India is truly moving towards genocide, not in immediate future. But 'otherization' of Muslims has become law, which was never the case until now. Please include us in your Dua.

I'm from South India (Kerala) and I had never heard about this hadith. And I realise that not many of us here know about it. I came to know about this through a friend who's working in New Delhi. I agree with Dr. Yasir Qadhi that it could be talking about the dynasties up until the Mughals. But also it's not impossible to happen in the future too. As to my understanding, the timeframe in the hadith maybe focusing on the end times. For a group to be with Eesa (As), it would be in the future. Because when Eesa (As) was sent to the Jews, nobody accepted him as the Messiah despite having disciples. Moreover, Eesa (As)'s mission is yet to be accomplished which is why there's a Second Coming. With this theory, the Gazwa Al Hind could be a future event when you read the hadith altogether. Allah knows best.

To be technical, the Mughal empire was dead by 1750. All that was left was a figurehead title and a seat in Agra. Another side note- Biryani came from Iran. The Mughals spiced it up and made it better. A lot of our culture is turco-persian.

Dear Dr Yasir Qadhi. I respectfully disagree with some of your Analysis. Past conquests of Hind do not follow the Islamic interpretation of Jihad. They were done for personal reasons, for land, wealth etc. As you mentioned, the people of H Dynasty became Ismaili so how has Allah bestowed such greatness to people who did not prescribe to Islamic Jihad? Those people used these Hadith for their own purpose in order to get people to fight for them in their personal cause. Gazwa Al Hind will happen when the Muslim people of Hind are pursecuted and call for the Muslim nations to come and help free them from tyrani. I also believe, after much investigation, that the two incidents mentioned in the Hadith of the arrival of Jesus and Gazwa Al Hind will take place either together or one after the other in close succession. This is, of course, just an educated opinion as no one knows for sure when these two incidents will actually take place. Can you shed some light as to why you think the other conquest of Hind were according to Islamic Law of Jihad please. I respect your views and knowledge greatly. God bless you.

I got one question as well: is there a hadith about prophet muhammad SAW asking ALLAH for more time for the Ummah? and allah gave 1/2 a day extra. So the ummah had 1 day but ALLAH gave 1/2 day extra because our beloved propbet said 1 day is not enough. ALSO, if that hadith is true then what does 1 day equals to in our time?

I am a Punjabi and I am a muslim. All I want to tell both sides Pak and India that I am not an outsider neither I am an Arab or Afghani. My ancestors were probably Hindus who converted to Islam, and that is true with the huge population of Indian and Pakistani Muslims. SUMMARIZED NOTES 📝 Ghazwa E Hind There are 3 Ahadith in Sunan Al Nasa'i which are actually 2 hadiths since two from the three of go back to same transmitter so are considered to be one (which is in Sunan Al Nasa'i- Book Of Jihad - Battle of Expedition of India - Hadith 89 ,90 , 91 or 3173, 3174, 3175 from Sunan Al Nasa’i) The most authentic books of Hadiths are Bukhari and Muslim No.3 in terms of Authenticity is Sunan Al Nasa'i No.3 in terms of Ease of Use is Sunan Abu Dawood No.3 in terms of usefulness is Jami’ Al Tirmidhi In the Book of Jihad, Under the Chapter The Battle Expedition of India, Hadith 89 and 90 have a similar text which go back to one Sahabi Jabr Ibn Ubaidah who is narrating from Abu Hurairah عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ وَعَدَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم غَزْوَةَ الْهِنْدِ فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتُهَا أُنْفِقْ فِيهَا نَفْسِي وَمَالِي فَإِنْ أُقْتَلْ كُنْتُ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَإِنْ أَرْجِعْ فَأَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ الْمُحَرَّرُ Jabr Ibn Ubaidah narrates only these two Hadiths which put a question mark on him and making a verdict on the authenticity of the Hadith becomes difficult. Sheikh Albaani classified the Isnaad is weak Similar Hadith in musnad Imam Ahmed which adds Sindh as well to Hindh and is narrated from Abu Hurairah with Imam Ahmed being the 4th person Imam Ahmed - Yahya Ibn Ishaq - Baraa - Hasan al Basri - Abu Hurairah But Hasan Al Basri did not meet Abu Hurairah RA, (Some narrators would drop some person in the Isnaad for trust reasons- this is a type of tadlees which reduces the authenticity) Generally two different weak chains of a same hadith make the hadith a bit stronger (Hasan li Ghairihi) but this cannot be done because of the mentioned reason above. A different Isnaad of the same Hadith is mentioned in the kitab al jihad ibn abi Asim (contemporary of imam ahmad) -Hadith 291 Abd Al samad - hashim ibn Saeed - kinana ibn nubai (Mawla Saffiyah RA)- Abu Hurairah RA This chain is also weak but now we have 3 different chains for the same hadith (one from Nisa’i, one from Imam Ahmed, one from Ibn Abi Asim) The hadith 91 or hadith 3175 from Sunan Al Nasa'i seals the fate عِصَابَتَانِ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أَحْرَزَهُمَا اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ عِصَابَةٌ تَغْزُو الْهِنْدَ وَعِصَابَةٌ تَكُونُ مَعَ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ' There are two groups of my Ummah whom Allah will free from the Fire: The group that invades India, and the group that will be with 'Isa bin Maryam, peace be upon him. Narrated from the Prophet SAW by Thauban who was the freed slave of the Prophet SAW and became a khadim of Prophet SAW and he narrates over 90 narrations and mainly he narrates on the signs of day of judgment However this has already occurred At the times of Umar Ibn Al Khattab RA and Uthman RA ships were sent to Sindh region to to see the conditions back there At the times of Hajjaj Ibn Yousuf Al Thaqafi, he sent an Expedition to India which were recorded in a book Chachnama written by muslims in Arabic which talks about the history of India and Muslims ( we only have a persian translation of the original work) Muhammad Ibn Al Qasim was sent by Hajjaj Ibn Yousuf and he ruled for few years and came back, meanwhile they developed the city of Mansoora, ancient city of Multan etc. Habbarith dynasty then took over but they became Ismailis, was taken over by Mahmud Ghasnavi then Ghurid Dynasty then Delhi Sultanate then Babar then Mughals then the Britishers come The muslims who came did not colonize but the muslims who came developed India and adopted the culture and became Indians, there was never any religious tension between Muslims and Hindu until the British.

Shaykh Yasir Qadhi is severely mistaken in few places especially when he says that "a book that is considered to be the first book ever written by Muslims of India regarding the history of India from the Muslim perspective, this is called the Chach-nama, the Chach-nama, I'm not inventing the name because it talked about the Chach-dynasty and I'm inventing that is real. There was a dynasty call the 'Chach dynasty'".[1] The book in question, 'Chach-nama', isn't a history book as has been rightly identified by Manan Ahmed Asif. He writes, “Chachnama is not a translated history from Arabic into Persian. Rather it is a work created in thirteenth-century Uch and reflects the political and social concerns of Qabacha's court in Sind [...] Chachnama does not fit the genre of conquest narrative, by examining it against the earliest Arabic conquest texts.” [2] It would be better if Muslims do not use Chach-nama - a 13th century book - as an 'history-book' especially for the conquest of Sind when we have something better i.e., the Arabic and Persian historical sources. For example the 9th century book of Al-Balādhurī "Kitāb Futūh Al-Buldān", is a more reliable source when is comes to the conquest of Sind; it states the following giving almost the same background the Shaykh gave, “al-Ḥajjāj appointed Muḥammad ibn-Hārūn ibn Dhirā‘ an-Namari, and during his administration the king of the island of Rubies sent to al-Ḥajjāj some women who were born in his country as Moslems, their fathers, who had been merchants, having died. He wanted to court favour with al-Ḥajjāj by sending them back. But the ship in which they were sailing was attacked by some of the Mid of ad-Daibul in the barks (bawārij), and was captured with all that was in it. One of the women, who was of the tribe of the banu-Yarbū‘, cried out, “O Ḥajjāj!” al-Ḥajjāj heard of this and exclaimed, “Here am I.” He sent to Dāhir asking him to set the women free, but Dāhir replied, “Pirates over whom I have no control captured them.” So al-Ḥajjāj sent ‘Ubaidallāh ibn Nabhān to raid ad-Daibul, but he was killed. Then al-Ḥajjāj wrote to Budail ibn Ṭahfah al-Bajali, who was in ‘Umān, ordering him to go against ad-Daibul. But when Budail met the enemy, his horse ran away with him, and the enemy surrounded him and killed him. [...] Muḥammad ibn-al-Ḳasim. Then al-Ḥajjāj put Muḥammad ibn-al-Ḳasim ibn-Muḥammad ibn-al-Ḥakam ibn abu-‘Ukail in charge, during the reign of al-Walīd ibn ‘Abd-al-Malik. He raided as-Sind.” [3] Note, "the island of Rubies" mentioned above refers to modern-day Sri-lanka. Chach-nama is a problematic text with much unhistorical rather fictional material - it has been used by Hindutva-vaadis and Islamophobes to malign Muslim-rulers of the olden times especially Muhammad ibn Qasim. Similarly, the Shaykh is wrong when he states that Bahadur Shah Zafar II was exiled to the land of Nepal, when actually he was exiled to "Rangoon" which is known as "Myanmar" (Burma) today. That's overstretch to say there was no religious tension in pre-british india. I mean, i don’t believe hindus were not outraged when Aurungzeb demolished their temple and built a mosque over it as a token of humiliation. Riots were non-existent because muslims were ruling and had upperhand.

21:27 Having done a PhD, and as a masters' student myself. I expected you to do better research. The Britishers took over from Sikhs and Marathas and other Dharmic Empires who had already ended the Mughal rule in India. After the 3rd Anglo-Sikh and 3rd Anglo-Maratha Wars Btw ! Secondly, Your statement about Indian culture being unrecognizable if not for the Islamic influence is laughable at best. All our national mottos are in Sanskrit, which is the de facto civilizational language btw. Other than that check out our national flag, the national anthem and the national song. One dish Biryani and a few monuments don't define the cultural ethos of a land. Therefore, India is a civilizational land of the Vedic Culture. The Sanskrit and the Sanskriti expounded therein. And I don't really know if Ghazwa-e-Hind ever happened or not, because there were many areas of India still resisting and outside the mughal control, even during its zenith under Akbar. So, by definition, you could not achieve what was written in your texts. Further, you know it is impossible or unthinkable for you or any muslim country to challenge India, so in an attempt to sheepishly run away, you say that "Oh it already happened under the mughals, we don't have to do it, pheww, thank allah !" So yeah, Not sure about Ghaze e Hind, but pretty sure about something else, which indeed is a lived reality for the people of India - Jai Hind !

It's so nice of you discuss these hadeeths in detail, but Shaykh isn't it your responsibility to analyze the very concept that forms the core of the (matan) of any of hadeeth and see if it directly goes against the Qur'an. In this case isn't the Qur'an very clear that Allah does not allow invasion of lands whose people have not invaded your land and property? Are Muslims allowed to wage war against countries at their will?

The fact that many Pakistani Muslims say to Indian Muslims that Pakistan’s creation is correct is eventually regarding the two-nation theory. However, I personally do agree with the speaker that in this time of crisis and oppression one should not taunt the other side. BUT there is a huge and very noticeable difference between being a nationalism and religion. The indian muslims are still advocating that nationalism is superior than our religion; Islam, which is quite daft honestly. The more they prefer nationalism over religion, they more they would suffer and be oppressed. India has worked out from 1947 to the present day only due to one factor: By providing equal and justified opportunities to Indian Muslims in the government of the country. Whenever the indian muslims are neglected to be the part of the government, India will be divided once again! I pray to our almighty Allah that He may help and bless all the muslims of India.

20:00 to 24:00 is highly debatable. The truth is that the Mughals ruled India and oppressed the Hindus. If the Mughlas truly cared about the Hindus and those of Dharmic faiths they would not have imposed the "jizya" or forcibly try to convert Hindu maharajas to Islam. I do agree that India wouldn't be India today without some of the contributions of the Mughals but it is highly debatable whether they did this for the Indian people. Their contributions were mostly for themselves.They wanted to rule the Indians and enslave them. Regarding Ghazwa-e-Hind...perhaps you don't think it will happen again in India (which is fine). You say that ghazwa e hind has already happened, but there are so many islamic clerics in India (you can just Google this) speaking about how they plan to fully Islamize India.
