I would have happily seen a light-coloured Akhal Teke in the Lord of the Rings movie, as Shadowfax, the king of all horses. An Akhal Teke would have been the best choice for that horse.
There are U.S. breeders: Google Akhal-Teke Association of America . Probably less expensive (assuming you are American) than shipping, but the Akhal-Teke is a very pricey breed. They are bred in Turkmenistan (where they originated), as well as Russia and Central Asia, Europe, the US, Uruguay, and Australia. Probably there are breeders in Turkey, as well.
