BEWARE: the roof stability bunker no longer works in 4.0 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-05ZpbXqeFU4.html No worries though, once the third floor is in place, the bunker no longer added to the minimum raid cost anyway. If you insist on having a bunker in the 2x2, swap out the existing ground floor for the Serenity ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-26_1JfhBPC0.html
Hey Wurst, do you know what setting affects the transparency of the external wall models when you're trying to place them? Mine is fully opaque and makes it hard to place them
He actually changed how 2x2s work. Definitely gonna surprise neighbours when I make a 2x2 to a fully fledged end game base. German engineering at it again!
You're one of the few rust content creators that my friends and I can talk about for ages, your bases are super solid as is your video production and I really really appreciate what you're doing. Keep it up man, much love
Just when you think to yourself "What could be done that hasn't been done already" Evil Wurst drops another one. Super practical with the 2x2 starter and love the "so you joined your teammates who already have a 2x2".
Very nice base build. love that you allways have so much detail in your bases. The no gap faktor is my favorite off this base, because i use it in my own Multi-Tc bases aswell. Would love to see more such bases in the future!!
Used this design and, while few groups attempted to online raid us, they all failed. I think we will get offline raided before the wipe but... you know, it's rust! Great design Evil Wurst!
This base is soooooo gooooooood. I really like how it can be made from a 2x2 that is incredibly useful when playing with people who dont build much and just put down a 2x2 start of wipe. I really like the base and I’ll be for sure using those ramps to the roof in one of my own designs they are OP. I’ll be using this base in my next wipe. 10/10
Yet another work of art! Wunderbar!!! I left a comment on Willjum's video of your duo adventure about starting a Rust podcast with you and him as the host. Between the two of you I think it would be a great new addition to the rust community. With your Engineering precision and his chill laid back outlook i think it would be a smashing hit. You could discuss building trends, new innovations, exploits and more. Also leaving the opportunity to bring on other rust content creators as guest for a further range of topics such as pvp, roleplay, storytelling and any other subject within rust you deem interesting. He responded on my comment in a positive way but on his recent vid told me he has yet to get in contact with you about it. With both of your busy irl and in your youtube content i figured the best way to help urge it along would be to comment here. I hope my idea will come to bear fruit and if not i respect whatever decision you or him make. As always, love your work.
Thank you, that's a lovely idea! My real life commitments, however, will now allow me to take on anything else. I already struggle mightily with just making base build videos
@@EvilWurst = ( how unfortunate, but as stated earlier i understand n respect it. If there is the opportunity for it later i hope you would keep it in mind.
Hi,I built this made it full sheet metal and full armor core/honey comb, only took a group of very good players (no joke) 72 rockets to get in... thank you for the few days this base lasted it was lovely
Trying this on Thursday. If I have any feedback/suggestions from trying it in a real wipe I will come back and update this comment (even thought I don't expect to ;) ). Thanks Mr. Wurst!
Okay so on account of the 4.0 changes I gave it a few wipes. Through this I learned the following about this design: 1) Large furnaces are very essential to this build. I would rush these and the compound as quickly as you can. If you are building this design as a trio or quad it will take quite a bit of farming to get up in time to be aptly protected from griefing (which is a concern with this base) People take notice of the design and seek to end it before it becomes too unmanageable. On 3 separate wipes this became an issue as different groups targeted us with TCs. 2) The missing roof bunker isn't a game changer necessarily and the design still stands up to a large amount of rockets. We were able to defend an online raid in our early on stages and that was all due to the second level of the base. It gave us a height advantage against raiders and for this I highly recommend rushing to two levels as quickly as you can and at the very least slapping some honeycomb on the portion of your base containing Tc and loot room. 3) With the addition of the triangle ladder hatch this base has immense possibility, especially with the recently found changes to roof stacking. Excited for what's to come
This base is a 11/10. Absolutely everything you need want and could use. I used this base on a weekly server for 4 wipes in a row and defended 7 online raids out of it. Stupidly insane base. Good job evil wurst. Can't think of a better 2x2 base that I've used
I've not even played Rust in a bit over half a year and this video still kept me fascinated. The amount of thought put into this build is astounding. I'm getting the Rust itch again!
With the new rust App this base design will be perfect! All you have to do is set up the alarms inside the outer layer and hop on. Looking forward to using this beautiful base in coming wipes!
Loved it! I've been playing a 2x2 roof bunker design EXACTLY like that recently and I was just about to see if i could make it similar to Hjune's 2x2 design.... You've literally done it for me!
I've been building this base more than 10 times, with some big personal adjustment. Absolute masterpiece, my team loves it and asks for it even if it's definitely "aged" now. Place 18 turrets and it took 8 people to raid it online (8vs3). Dude, I seriously want to thank you for your work, I look forward to building more of yours. Also, I believe you are the best creator on youtube in terms of explaining clearly how to build, precise, clear, concise, complete. Thanks, thanks and again thanks!
Again evil, you continue to push the advancement of building techniques and meta in the game. Happy to be with you since the start. This base has heavy AloneInTokyo vibes, and feels somewhat inspired by his aggressively innovative designs. Keep up the great work, and I can’t wait to see where the building community goes next.
your videos are so well made, I will probably never have the time patience or need to build this base but I sat and watched the video just because it's so calming watching you work your magic. great work keep it up!
Coincidentally I was just rewatching ur latest take on the 2x2 when this popped up on my screen. I'll try to make this footprint work next wipe, with a 2x1 tho.
I have to say, your bases are always so practical and have so much though and consideration put into the design; definitely going to be using this next month.
Thank you for noticing this! Indeed, it almost takes as much time to go from the raw design to the final polished design, as coming up with the raw design itself.
Now this is a great base. Strong for online raids, quite ok for offline raids too. I have seen some good multi-tc designs and I even made a few myself, but it always comes to one thing- you have to have so many materials ready when you start building, which is hard on official vanilla servers , especially for small groups. It is also hard to claim the flat spot for yourself, triangles Can be easily raided and taken from you and stronger builds are then in the way if you wanna start building in those spots. Making this base out of a simple/honeycombed 2x2 is one of the most useful things on a populated server Ive ever seen and I will definitely try it out.
Thank you! Yes, I think many people who watch YT videos focus too much on stats like raid cost and completely underestimate the importance of how viable this base is to build during an actual wipe! Thanks for recognising that!
@@EvilWurst you are right. After you reach a certain strength of a base , most people can't raid you(at least online). Those groups that CAN dont really care that much if it's 40 or 50 rockets, stronger base can buy you a bit of time but every base will get raided anyway. People only look at how many rockets it is, but there are other important factors too- for offline raids it is mostly external TCs, traps and turrets AND splitting loot into more rooms/bases. defense against online raids would be peakdowns, flank bases, towers, shooting floors, also turrets, beds that dont share cooldowns etc, lockers... I have never made a RU-vid base in 3+k hours of Rust, I only learn concepts from great builders like you and then I try to implement them in my designs. But I will build this one next wipe I think because of that 2x2 Core and how easily you can expand it. For example my last multitc design consists of 4 connected bases and a big tower in the middle, it has hqm suicide bunker in tower, 5 tcs and about 60 rooms with 60 boxes to split the loot. But the problem is as I mentioned before (I play vanilla official only, 1-3 ppl max in my group) to secure whole flat Area and defend it, or to get enough materials to build it(you need so many gears quickly etc). That means I Can only build the base in second half of monthly wipe when it cools down a bit. That's why this base from you is much more useful in an actual wipe than many people might think. Too many times Ive Seen people build Huge RU-vid bases from scratch and cry when they got killed 5 times with full inventories of mats while building, only to finally finish the build and get raided just after they went to sleep ;D. With your base you can stay in low profile honeycombed 2x2 , which is kinda secure and doesnt cause too much attention, while strong enough to secure the flat spot until youre ready to expand. I believe people should learn some of the concepts from you and other good builders and then try to implement them. You cant always build Huge clan base from scratch in 20 minutes without getting interrupted etc. Sometimes you have to adapt to terrain, blueprints you have etc. Thanks again for this design, one of my favourite Rust youtubers ;)
Hey evil, I'm really enjoying your base building videos, Half of the time I don't even build the bases but i implement your amazing ideas into my bases! I Recommend you to anyone, Keep doing what you're doing!!
@@YehNahYehAyy yes and no. If you split the loot in all the loot rooms, they need to waste a lot more extra boom to loot everything. As removing windows by getting to core TC is not possible with multi TC if they dont raid every external TC. I got raided in something similar and they only got TC loot. Which was like 1/3 of the loot. I could recover and retake over the base
just play for 16 hours a day, and then have friends that play on different hours to keep track of the other 8, or you know, have notifications on the new Rust+ app ^^
God damn. Me and my friends didn’t use to many of your bases because they were huge but this one is legit, probably gonna have to start using this instead of the bunker 2x2
Great to hear that! May I ask: it sounds like you find my bases too large in general. What about my solo/duo/trio bases or my starter bases? sites.google.com/view/evilwurstsbases
My love of your updated leech design, and this 2x2 have made me decide to try and meld the two. I think I’ve got a good start for the ground floor but I want to try some more tweaking before putting into practice. Thank you as always
With rust coming to console my friend and I will build this as our ultimate endgame. I'm so excited to finally be able to play the game I've watched so much of! Thanks for all the designs Wurst.
The name, intro, explanation. usage, utility, creativity, and truth that one spawns in a friends base which is 90% of the time a 2x2. All inside a 2x2. Evil for years now you keep surprising me.
@@EvilWurst I agree. Its a nice gap between the 2x2 and 3x3. I play weeklies with a 4-5 man and the 3x3 becomes too much work when we're trying to focus on pvp. 2x2 not enough storage for later on in the wipe. Can't wait to put this to use!
This base successfully defended itself from an offline raid for my group yesterday. We adapted it but 99% of our design is still EvilWurst's. They only made it as far as the floor just above the TC's 2x2. Fell well short on boom. We then added more to the design to boost the raid cost lol
