I'll forever be bitter they havent released the original 3 hour extended edition of this movie. Extended editions are always better than the theatrical release.
Juan Seguin, the influential Texan hero would then be falsely accused of treason and forced into exile in the state of Tamaulipas, where he would eventually fight with the Mexican army against the American invaders.
Actually Mexico tried to reclaim The Republic Of Texas in 1845 when they already achieved independence in 1836 when they found out they wanted to join the United States which catapulted The Mexican American War in 1846
Our people never learned their lesson, first with the Natives who helped the Spanish defeat las Mexica were later betrayed, and so were los Tejanos. They were pawns and didn't realize it until it was too late.
It's sad that the American settlers who moved into Texas after independence was won didn't know about the contribution made by Tejanos during the Texas Revolution.
Bastante triste el sacrificio de esos valerosos soldados de la patria la mayoría llevados en contra de su voluntad por una causa que lastimosamente se perdió... El territorio nacional fue a parar a las manos del cruel invasor
BUT.....Yes, but the Mexicans returned again and took the Texan capital twice more. one with General Mariano Arista and the second with a French general nationalized as a Mexican named Adrián Woll, this Franco-Mexican took the city but had to withdraw due to lack of resources, so the Texans pursued him to southern Texas, but the Americans They fell into a Mexican trap and were massacred by Woll. This episode is known as the Dowson massacre.
@@Mrhistory7026 Nope, the war keep going till the year 1845, a mexican french general, comanded by santa Anna....he took again San Antonio. And he wasnt the only one, general Mariano Arista did the same thing.
@@Mrhistory7026 And guess what lad? The mexican army of Santa Anna, never had been defeated, in San Jacinto just about 900 houndred mexican soldiers and Santa Anna were defeated. Thousands of mexicans soldiers were under the comand of general Vicente Filisola at Morgan's point and San Antonio, Waiting orders.
Juan Seguin wasn't "forced" into exile, he left under his own volition. He was arrested and "forced" by Santa Anna to fight in the Mexican American War after which he petitioned to return to Texas, which was granted. He served as a county official and died over the border in Mexico. His grave is in Seguin, Texas, along with a life-sized statue to this hero of the Texas Revolution.
