Wow! I thought American Bandstand was so cheezy as a kid...I didn't know The ALARM was on it (apparently twice). Got to hand it to Dick Clark to not only give them time for the songs but actually talk to them as a real person.
Most tv-appearances anywhere at the time was playback/lip sync, or at the best with a live lead vocal. I became a fan seeing them on national tv, but was horrified when I found the show again in the Archives a few years ago. Not only was it different than I remembered, but the second song they played (Spirit of 76) was so badly cut and edited, I guess the band must have had a hard time keeping straight faces.😔😳
