Bands always have, and still do, write their own songs though. There are also more pop singers that write their own lyrics than there were when this came out...
@@Dandy37I mean even some of the older artists had others write songs for them like meatloaf. Its a matter of performing them and having the song match the artist. If the artist doesnt really vibe to the music the same way the writer does its not quite the same. Some of Meatloafs biggest hits were not written by him but he was good friends with the writer. They likely understood eachother enough that meatloaf could perform the music with the same level of understanding or emotion as the writer. We have too many artists who use tech to boost the sound quality of their voices too. I dont mind using tech in music as long as your creative with it. Thats why I never minded most europop or eurobeat and other techno music. I liked mr. Roboto by Stix. I liked the futuristic robot sounding like stuff Will.I.Am got into with The Black Eyed Peas towards the end of their great era. It changed their voices in a creative way that kept it authentic sounding rather than like they were using a voice changer to have a decent voice and reach notes they normally couldnt. Its the difference between an artist and a con artist in the music industry. Unfortunately, a lot of music these days that isnt fake is drowned out by pop idols popularity and relentless fans or the cultural isolation that comes with many types of rap. So you wont often hear about some new talented metal artist or rock artist unless their work is included in something to spark that connection with social medias algarythm. Orchaestral? Forget it. You will hardly ever hear someone or some brand promoting a orchaestral bands concert. If I told someone I was going to listen to a state symphony perform beethovens 4th they would look at me like "wut? Are you joking?". They expect only band geeks or old people to be into it. Sadly how it goes in modern culture.
+Jimel Tolentino Everyone calls our computers and technology musical instruments but we should be sticking to actual instruments that require a little more effort than clicking buttons to make a beat.
This song hits different now at 30 years old than it did when I was 13-14 when I first heard this song. People have come and gone, but the music with the memories remain.
Honestly, an open-field concert at night with this band would be absolutely breathtaking, ending the performance with this song with fireworks shooting across the sky.
At 32, I was 16 when this song came out. All of the people that I knew then are all gone. I thought we would be in each other's lives forever, but that isn't how life works. We can dream, we can wish, and we can want, but sometimes it's not good enough. After that year, I made the best friends of my life and am still friends with them to this day. But to my old crew, there is not a day where my heart doesn't find you. I'm sad that it's over, but I will always be proud that I lived it.
Im 25 and can still relate to this message so much. Always remember hearing old timers when i was young saying how much they miss being a kid. I finally know what they mean.
The same exacting happened to me. I had a lot of great friends and had many great times together. They're all now gone, either because I walked away for something stupid they did or because our lives just drifted apart. I always heardof people being lifelongfriends and I thought the same would go for me. It does make me sad that it's as if those memories didn't mean anything. I wish them the best and I know I'll never forget
In 2006 when this came out people missed the music from the 80's and 90's. Ten years from now someone will say something simillar to you but about a current song.
The fact that Tyson, the lead singer, said that he wrote this song because his roommate was annoying him so much he wanted to kill him, and the whole thing sounds like a dramatic breakup, is honestly top-tier 😂 I only just learned this. I had no idea when I was listening to this growing up, it's always been a song that's held a lot of meaning for me. It feels almost fitting that I found this out when I'm older and, frankly, less angsty 😅😅
I'm listening to this right now and it made me realize that I have to move on now. When darkness turns to light." This line always struck as the beginning of something better. Darkness is leaving and light is replacing it; light's connotations for me are always something happier. I love this song so much.
Randomly woke up with this song playing in my head reminding me of 9 years ago skateboarding in my basement with my old friends. I really wish I could see them again
BeeGeeDubs I wish i could see them for my first time. Unfortunately, their not touring where i live so i can't. If you already saw them live, you're super lucky. My dream is to see them live.
will never forget this song. this song was top on radio in 2007 when I bought my 1st DSLR camera and embarked on a 8 year career as a wedding photographer... great memories.
Everyone says that about their own era of music lol. Our parents said that about music a couple decades older than this and years later the kids now will be saying that about the music nowadays. It's all biased perspective haha
yeah but... the music now... it's like artists can't even open a dictionary to find real words to put in their lyrics so they just muble and let the beat in the background drown out their shitty lyrics lol
Woke up from a sound sleep in 2006 to this song on the night my uncle died. He was my favorite, i was his favorite.. always and forever, your little German girl💕
I was just thinking how much better of a time that year was..I was 15. I remember watching MTV Music Videos in the middle of the night and this song would play often.
@K99TakesNoBS its terrible these days. im grateful for having grown up and seeing both sides. The parody is extreme. Music peaked during the 1990 - 2006 era. its only gone downhill since. people forgot about the love and good feelings. You can always live through music though. go back in time. Timeless !!!!!
Same! I was in eighth grade when this dropped, so AAR were one of those truly vital bands of my middle school and high school year. Just five seconds of this song is like a time machine for me
Timely comment! If you guys like AAR and It Ends Tonight, we think you'd like us also. We're a new American acoustic pop punk duo. Thank you for supporting independent music!
I drew up in a rough neighborhood and I was the only black kid that was ever listening to music like All-American rejects and my friends would think I was weird but honestly I’m soo glad I never listened to them and kept true to myself
You sir are a bright fellow. Despite people trying to make you listen to music that'd they stereotyped you to listen, you listened to what you wanted to listen!
Really? OMG, people always trying to fit others into stereotypes. There's so much nice music out there, why listen to what everybody else listens to...
This song inspired me to make a song that is inspired by love. If you want to listen to it here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3Wo0zFPt_t0.html Thank you!
I was in a terrible place when I discovered this song, years and years ago. I've been so close to the end so many times during that time, hope this helps someone out there. Maybe things seem to be falling apart now, but they will get better. Carry on mate, we've all been there. Good things take time.
Thank you❤ the love of my life just broke up with me, considered drinking a whole handle of Jameson tonight, thankfully I did not, but you're right my life feels like it's falling apart and I'm so lost💔 I saw your comment at the right time, thank you for the motivation

The older I get i think less about myself and more about other people and to me that is so much more rewarding than my ideas at 14 when I listened to this. We all grow up and get older and face diffrent problems. I am greatful that I'm still here to make a difference.
anyone else watching not only this, but TONS of early 2000s music because covid has you in your feels and disconnected from your loved ones. i find solace in this. i hope im not alone
Your subtleties They strangle me I can't explain myself at all. And all the wants And all the needs All I don't want to need at all. The walls start breathing My mind's unweaving Maybe it's best you leave me alone. A weight is lifted On this evening I give the final blow. When darkness turns to light, It ends tonight It ends tonight. A falling star Least I fall alone. I can't explain what you can't explain. You're finding things that you didn't know I look at you with such disdain The walls start breathing My mind's unweaving Maybe it's best you leave me alone. A weight is lifted On this evening I give the final blow. When darkness turns to light It ends tonight, It ends tonight. Just a little insight won't make this right It's too late to fight It ends tonight, It ends tonight. Now I'm on my own side It's better than being on your side It's my fault when you're blind It's better that I see it through your eyes All these thoughts locked inside Now you're the first to know When darkness turns to light It ends tonight, It ends tonight. Just a little insight won't make this right It's too late to fight It ends tonight, It ends When darkness turns to light It ends tonight, It ends tonight. Just a little insight won't make this right It's too late to fight It ends tonight, It ends tonight. Tonight Insight When darkness turns to light, It ends tonight.
Back on the 4th of July! I used to watch this video as a 12 year old kid im 25 now… used to geek out that they were at moapa where I’ve gone every year since a child. Song still puts me in my feels. God how I wish music was still like this. HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE 🎇❤️

My Older Brother William was 10 years old and I was 5 years old when The All-American Rejects released "It Ends Tonight" on September the 19th of 2006.
I feel like I'm 15 years old again 😆 wow time really has passed me by 😔 I still love this song ill be 30 this year it doesn't matter I still like this type of music.
I used to wake up to this song in middle school on mtv, my tv was my alarm clock. & you can set it to turn the tv on at a certain time & mtv back then used to just play music videos all morning. The good ol days 😔🙏
When darkness turn to light, it ends tonight.... As an adult this hit me to the core. I feel like I’m looking at my younger self so eager and ready to be an adult. If only we could just tell ourselves to slow it down & embrace it all.
As a child born in the 90s (1991) I can say with absolute authority that this song (and band) are legends and their music will carry on making people emotional for the rest of humanity's existence. It's perfect.
My big brother was born '91. I was '99 and I'm so thankful I had him there to show me the music and movies HE grew up with. My taste in music wouldn't be the same without him and I want my little boy to get the same experience.
Im 33 now… I remeber this song when I was 17 .. this song make me happy and sad at the same time so much memories… I comment here to remind me after 10 years, I still comeback here to listen to this masterpiece 😢 17/12/2022
