I met you 12 years ago as my 10th grade history teacher, and here I am today eagerly waiting for my z4 m40i to reach the dealer and looking up z4 reviews because of it. Still teaching me history lessons 12 years later. You’re still the best Mr Raiti
Have seen it last saturday in showroom here in Warsaw. Its gem, details and finish gives this feeling you are looking at little gem, not a car. Its so well made and designed. Price here was 65 k€. Damn a lot of money. I would never buy it but its beautiful.
Excellent video Joe! I bought a new 2000 BMW 328i sedan in November 1999 and kept it for 16 years and it had 108,000 miles when I finally had enough of the high repair costs and traded it in even though it still looked brand new. It was a very smooth and great driving car with enough rear seat room to put a car seat in and and also over the years haul everything from a dehumidifier to a 300 lb. olympic set of weights to a bale of straw in the trunk with the rear seats folded down. That BMW was a fantastic car but if you buy one I strongly suggest to not keep it too long after the warranty runs out unless you don't mind spending a small fortune for repairs.
Worked for a Beverly Hills Talent Agency from 1989-2009 taking their company vehicles to the dealers & mechanic shops as well as fueling them. Having the opportunity to Drive top end German imports was a blast to say the least. The company would sign a 3 yr lease so they had no maintenance cost except for tires (BMW's only). The Beemers were their favorite & it's easy to understand why once you got into one & drove it! Ever-since that job I've had a very special appreciation for German automotive engineering that in my mind is unchallenged!
Sounds like you had a fantastic job! I agree with you 100% and I was always given a BMW loaner car to drive while mine was at the dealership being repaired and they were all fun cars to drive but I liked my 328i the best. I don't regret buying the car but I do regret my decision to keep it as long as I did.
The bombay doors on the center console is so intuitive! Dont zonk it! U didnt realize that u can actually close one door and have it as your arm rest and have the other door open for your drinks!!
From what I heard there will be no additional M version of the Z4. I saw the car in person in Blue and in White and both care looked super nice. Nice to see the car has some actual physical buttons along with the screens. Audi has gone too far in removing buttons in the A8 and other models. Z4 could have better integration of screens though - Mercedes new models with MBUX have beautiful wide screens that look nicely integrated.
I've been listening to you for a little bit of time now definitely got my vote I love your enthusiasm amazing amazing job in a crowded Market you differentiate Yourself by genuine enthusiasm knowledge passion being real
@@timephire Not really, but love to follow up the jokes with a more dry one... What many have missed is that Toyota are more involved that just design and putting it over a BMW drivetrain. They have tested parts and spent a couple of years to get this is good as possible. This might be the best BMW in the range in 2019 also on quality.
I am considering a used one of these. Will be a cross country road trip car for me. Wondering if it is comfortable enough for the long trips. Seems so. Love the fact they went back to cloth for simplicity and trunk space. I had two first Gen Z4’s and loved those.
It looks to me like its more BMW, than a Toyota. I bought a used Z4 many years ago. The wife got two speeding tickets in the first week we owned it. Needless to say, she really loved that car. It had a 3.0 Inline 6, if my memory still works. This bad boy is a beauty, I'm really digging it! Maybe by 2021 or 2022 I will be able to buy a used one. too pricey for me, for a new one. Or maybe I'll pick up a used Z06 instead! great job, Joe, keep em' comin', thanks.
Toyota had ZERO to do with designing the Zed 4 (can't believe that was said). So that's not true. However, BMW had everything to do with designing the Supra
Dont know why this video has so many dislikes. I think they did a great job on the z4. The red really pops on this. This looks like a mini version of the 8 series just like the 370z looks like a mini gt-r.
Hey! I know this video is a few years old. I’m looking at the 2025 manual z4 40i. Do you think this car could be a daily driver in the Seattle area (a bit of snow in winter) Thank you Love your history lessons (I’m German ). Good job
You have to push a button to get to toggle between modes? Can you just pull back on the gear selector to toggle between modes? Finding a button while trying to drive aggressively is a pain in the ass
the car looks great but sadly doesn't come with manual. If you're like me then that's a deal breaker. At the same time I'm not a big fan of turbos. I know it's very popular today but not everything popular is necessarily the best solution
I love how America has the Zee 4 and Britain has the Zed 4, same cars, just in different sides of the pond lol. It looks nice, you can see similarities to the new Supra. Not for me though, both, even if i did have the wonga.
Nice video. Thanks! Alas, this Z4 looks like a TOY-ota not a Bimmer. I’ll take the styling on my retractable hardtop 2009 Z4 any day over this one. Unfortunately rag tops are not particularly functional here in Vermont, but if they were, I’d give anything to get the 2007 Z4 I traded on the 2009 back-real hydraulic steering can’t be beat. BMW is spending way too much effort courting the luxury market and not enough effort meeting the needs of enthusiasts. ☹️
Ok Great Cinematography, Editing, I would have liked it, if the editor had lightened up some of the cutaway, shots, where you were showing the front grill; aside from that, great editing. Audio, I get it that you're in a showroom, ( echo ); great script and knowledge of product All the best Shaun of NYC ( Ok last Comment Lol )
What??! I thought u couldn't put a double exhaust on a 4 cylinder(according to videos on youtube)...why couldn't they put a double exhaust on my 2011 focus?
This whole collaboration thing does not amuse me at all.... it makes BMW feel a bit less ..... BMW.... anyway, good review, starting to get hooked on your vids Mr Raiti :) and I must say that you really keep them coming, this is my 2nd new vid today :)
Cloth tops get slashed by the jealous public..in this economy...I've replaced Two on an MG and Triumph ..Years ago...I liked the hard top convert ...makes more sense today
It looks great, but is very expensive and they should have kept the manual transmission as option. I rather get a Miata or a 124 Abarth or why not a 370Z with the manual that sounds amazing.
I'm curious if the Toyota version will be marked up cause it has a supra badge. Also when that z4m becomes available you gotta your hands on it. Keep up the good work
Great review! That thing looks incredibly roomie on the inside, which is great! That being said, what's up with Z4's hips getting smaller and smaller? The Z3 M still looks more sporty than this car because of its back end and those deep dish wheels.
Thumbs down on the design. Z3 and previous Z4’s looked better. I’ve owned 2 BMWs. I’ll probably still get an E93, but this brand really builds the ultimate leaking machine.
OMG !!! Why would you mention the German war? Yes, all wars are horrific, but you are selling cars. Yes, I hate Germany, of the war, but again, cars. Thank you for telling about what BMW, stands for. And very big "Yes" I love BMW cars. All the best Shaun of NYC
“The outgoing Z4 had a bunch of crazy lines...” Right... and looks much better, especially the hard top and the set-back cabin, longer hood, and longer wheelbase with shorter overhangs. I can tell by looking at it, this car will have a somewhat choppy ride like my previous 135i. Fun, but my 2016 Z4 is more composed and handles better. I do like the integrated screen over the pop-up screen, despite the “cool factor” of the pop-up. The interior is nice, if a little boring like most of their newer stuff. But the biggest loss is the top, going to soft-only, and the loss of the rear windows.
