Excellent review. I wish more were like this. I got a real feel for the guitar without 45 minutes of licks. Thank you.

Strats are still the best guitar platform there is. Great demo great guitar. To Fender you could make this series even better if you also offered mahogany and korina bodies.

@@Ben-ll3iy I actually sold mine. I thought the pickups lacked character. I much prefer the American Professional 2 over this guitar. However I own custom shops, but was just saying if you are trying to stay within a budget. This particular one has the hotter pickups out of the ultra series, and still seemed to lack the brightness I liked out of the strats I have tried (these pickups are noiseless.) I would try one before purchasing and do some side by side comparisons on guitars you have your eye on. Depends on your playing style, I personally love the Cory Wong signature strat; also really like the American Original strats, prefer the 60's to the 50 for the classic sounds, which have been compared to being on par with custom shops. Hope that helps, all in all it comes down to your taste.

It's like having all the sounds of a Stratocaster, as well as the bridge pickup sound of a Les Paul or SG if you want that to!

Got mine (Ultraburst with rosewood fretboard) a couple of days ago. I was surprised that (on the back of the headstock) to the right of the serial number, there is now a little circle that has 'Fender 75' in it. I'm guessing that's for 2021 models? Anyway, one of the things I love about this guitar (and there are a few!) is that you can play 'clean' rhythm or solos, by simply turning down the volume knob, as you don't lose the high frequencies! So, like they did in the '60s and '70s, you don't necessarily have to use channel switching on your amp! Just leave the amp on a decent overdriven setting, and control clean and overdrive directly from the guitar volume knob itself! With the volume way down, clean soloing won't be as loud as full (for distortion), but it's still pretty decent!

Was really hoping this might finally be an HSS strat where, when you tap the humbucker and put it in position 2 (tapped humbucker and middle single coil) it would remain noiseless but, alas, no - as you can hear at 5:24 the buzz kicks in. Maybe it's simply not possible to resolve this but given I play a lot in position 2 on a standard strat then I'd be better off with an SSS Ultra. Not that this is anything to moan about but it would have been nice to have the humbucker there too.

What does double tap mean exactly?
@carlosmink
@carlosmink 4 года назад
You can split the humbucker into single coil BUT the "second coil" continue functioning to cancel hums to obtain the desired "noiseless" results... I prefer the SSS "vintage single coils" - the "hot" ones result on a more "muffled" sounding - away from a strat-like sounding...

@30smsuperstrat

@@davidkastin4240 you can do it by placing a variable resistor on the tap lead. Adjust the resistor to the amount of the tapped coil that you want left in and you're good to go.

How can you possibly do a demo of a guitar with a vibrato when you don’t even have the arm in place?
@JoeSzilagy
@JoeSzilagy 3 года назад
I just got mine a few days ago. I think those 'pop in' tremolo arms lose their stability real quick. Mine just dangles, but I think I prefer it that way, as I can just use it whenever I want, without it getting in the way. I was surprised that I could bend it fairly far down in pitch without it going out of tune very much!

I tend to agree for whatever reason the maple neck felt gawd awful but the rosewood seemed a bit better. Much more prefer the old Deluxe series after 2010 as far as necks go. I do like the new contoured body shape though

I agree I’ve been owning several American Stratocasters for over 20 years ........ and this ultra hss is the best one I’ve EVER had . Sounds incredible, playability is insanely easy and the build quality is second to none . Played it Yesterday through a JVM halfstack for 5 hours!!! Every sound imaginable lives in this rig ......... didn’t wanna put it down actually

@@ryanriviere6151 ........Agreed!! Don't know what the naysayers are complaining about but when I played this......It was on a whole, HIGHER level defining a Fender Strat. Maybe its just sour grapes on their part, because they can't afford it.....but, this guitar is worth every penny in my estimation. Actually, I thought it was going to cost more! And, I know what you mean, Ryan about getting lost in those 5 hours. Man, the same thing happened to me! And, positions 2 and 4 throw out some of the best spanks I ever heard coming out of a Strat!
