The All New Captain Kangaroo intro [better quality] 

No wonder this version of the Capitan did not last all that long. Only Bob Keeshan can be Capitan Kangaroo. This guy reminds me more of Capitan Ahab...

Used to watch this every day after Shining Time Station.

REMEMBER THE ORIGINAL CAPTAIN KANGAROO? It ran on CBS from 1955 till 1984. The "Captain" was played by Bob Keeshan. (B. 1927- D.2004) who played Clarabell the clown on the Howdy Doody show. After CK ended, he signed a contract to host the new Saturday morning series, "CBS Stoprybreak". Later, he became co-owner/ partner of the Bright Horizons/ Family Solutions franchised child day care Corp. In the mid 1990's, he was invited to appear on the All New Captain Kangaroo (above), as a guest star named "The Admiral". But after viewing a few episodes of the All New CK show, he declined to appear. Keeshan died in Vermont in 2004 and was buried in a New York cemetery.

OMG, I remember watching this show when it was on the Fox Family Channel, I remember humming to this intro, it's just so addicting

As I understand it they reached out to Bob Keeshan to be THE ADMIRAL but he wanted no part of it. Could of been next Generation thing. But I am sure he had his reasons.

Well, Captain Kangaroo had grown so rich, he wanted to retire. So he took me to his cabin and told me his secret. "I am not the Captain Kangaroo," he said. "My name is Ryan. I inherited this show from the previous Captain Kangaroo, just as you will inherit it from me. The man I inherited it from was not the real Captain Kangaroo, either. His name was Cummerbund. The real Kangaroo has been retired fifteen years and living like a king in Connecticut."

I haven't seen this show in years!

I totally remember seeing syndicated reruns of this show on I believe CBS or something.

I believe this was the first TV show I ever watched. And I was only 2 months old at the time!

I will agree that Bob Keeshan is the and only THE Captain Kangaroo. That said, and knowing I'm in a VERY small minority, this was a worthy try, one that should have gotten a Navy E (as my father used to say.)

This Captain Kangaroo doesn't fit for me, because this one seems more manly and rugged voice than Keeshan's original Captain Kangaroo was more softer and gentle voice for kids that made Keeshan a good Captain Kangaroo than this other actor which I feel sorry for him not doing good in this one.

BTW I'm INQURINING About another Old Skool Show called The Bozo Super Sunday Show, So if anyone remembers that show, would someone please upload it on here.
