Nicely done. Thank you for the time and sharing. I also have the full set (I did get the 105 lol). And I also found they resolve slightly different to different manufacturers. So that’s interesting. I’ve used them on an ArriMini, Arri XT, Reds Komodo, Red geminiy, Canon C500ii, Kinefinity Mavo Edge 8K and my Sony FX9, all have a slightly different resolution (of course sensors) and the Meikes in general have looked quite good overall. And for sure a middle of the ground overall lens as oppose to having a ton of character. And thats good for their price range.

I've been looking for a long time for a video like this. Thank you.

If you could do a video on how to make a lens powergrade I would be greatly appreciative. I am struggling with my Rokinon set and the resale isn't there so I'm stuck with the buggers. A powergrade would be my next best bet. Especially how you got the metrics for color shift differences and contrast. Just an idea.

I got the 24, 35, 50 and 85 for more than half off! $2,000 plus tax and I think that made them more than worth it! I really wanted the Xeen because of the T 1.5 but price was the deciding factor!

@humcrush I've downloaded the power grades and imported them but they are empty?? I've looked to see if I could see the node tree too and there nothing in these?

The power grades seem empty. I tried applying the grade, nothing happens. When I choose display node graph, there are no nodes. Thanks for the video.

Is there a reason you have the EF mount lenses for use with your A1? Is it specifically so you can use the locking MetaBones adapter? Thanks for these amazing reviews you've done of these lenses.
@Humcrush
@Humcrush 6 месяцев назад
Versatility. If I switch to a Nikon camera or a RED or virtually any mirrorless mount, I only need buy a new adapter, not a whole new set of lenses. I also rent these lenses, and I can rent them to a much wider audience with EF mount than if I had E mount.

Did you get the EF mount and the metabones adapter for a mft43 camera? How heavy was the setup? I am thinking of tjis setup to or the s35 on the gh6. Thanks in advance. Longtime subscribers. 😊
@Humcrush

If you're shooting on a camera with an MFT sensor, I'd strongly consider using their native MFT lenses. They are even less expensive and so much smaller and lighter. But if you see a S35 or FF camera in your future and want to "future proof", then consider these. (I'm not using a SpeedBooster, I'm just using a passive locking EF to E adapter.)
@terrygriffin5201
@terrygriffin5201 9 месяцев назад
@@Humcrush Yeah. I was thinking that too. Since here is the breakdown: MFT 279 USD, S35 615 USD, FF 822 USD. What do you think? Also, does your power grade work for the S35 and MFT lenses too? I do mainly narrative and education videos for schools. I am looking at Meike and Dulens Mini Primes. I figure I only need 4 focal lengths: 16, 25, 50 and 85mm, but the 16 50 and 85mm should cover me. Any thoughts much appreciated.

@@terrygriffin5201 No, the MFT, S35 and FF lens sets are completely different designs, so the PowerGrades need to be unique.

I'm here for the grades, but actually for the Meike Cine M43 lenses, do you happen to have those? I saw the review of these lenses here on this channel around a year ago..

Be very careful buying the M43 lenses otherwise you might do what I did... I bought one, then another, then another. I now have 4 and I'm still looking to buy others. I wish they'd stop making new versions so I could keep some money in my pocket rather than spending it on their lenses. Rant over, they are terrific and you won't be disappointed!

I don't want to be wrong but once installed the power grades appear empty to me. am I doing something wrong?

Hmmm, I don't think there's a wrong way to install them. You'll either see them or you won't.

yes, I installed them correctly but they are empty... they don't have any correction nodes inside, strange but I tried several times on different systems@@Humcrush

So are these lenses boring or something? Like if they don’t have a “look” then what are they best used for?
@Humcrush
@Humcrush 10 месяцев назад
They're appropriate for the widest range of shooting. If you want to bake-in an optical look for a particular job, then you can use filters. Or you can degrade your footage in post, which is the route I choose more and more often.
