I got a pair of these. Yes they need to be reprogrammed to the PMR-446 frequencies using Chirp otherwise they may interfere with emergency services. Nice video. Thanks. The frequencies for the U.K. are on Wikipedia.
I have a couple of the Zastone X6 version of these and I absolutely love them. Amazing distance with great audio and they also have a scan feature on channel 16 same as the Baofeng 888s,which is another great radio. But the size of these with the power and features they have is a bit of a treat for a great price. It's kinda funny to have a good speaker mic on it that is bigger than the radio but why not, right?
For the money AND the fact they are so programmable, with good battery life and great audio, its difficult to top them, I have a pair of modded Intek MT5050s and other than voice encryption, these are just as good.
If you program these to proper band frequencies they are amazing. I am able to hit a repeater near me with it on high power with no problems. For vehicle to vehicle they are also excellent. They can do CTCSS and Offset.
Hello, uhm, i got the Zastone version of these years ago, and i’ve decides to start using these for a while, i dont know anything about radios, but i was wondering, do you know how i could modify the antenna so it has more range to receive and send signals? Or how to mod them in any way, i havent been able to find info on these either, Thank you in advance! Also, i tried pressing the + button for a while to hear other frequencies, but i only hear static. These radios have been great! Btw great video, i might try and program the radios
Hi. Short answer is you cant modify the antenna. As you say yourself, yours are years old. It might be a lot easier for you to buy 2 Baofengs OR buy two Quansheng UV-K5 radios which are FAR more moddable....
@@Cornz38 Thank you for answering! It sucks i cant modify the antennas, i might take your advice and buy newer ones or that model you suggest! I was trying the radios out, after years, and i had some wired headphones near, i noticed that qhen i got the radio near the wire, the sound got a bit staticy, and when i connected the wired headphones and microphone that came with the radios, i Thouht the radio got a bit more signal, but i do not know it that was just me
