Does it work with LED light, i've seen it may only be for incandescent

Yes, the specs are Max Load: 150W LED, 300 W Incandescent. Also be sure your lights are dimmable.

I think it good for people that have never installed a smart 3 way switch that you can install just the main 3 way without installing the satellite switch and in most cases without issue. Main works as a smart switch in the system and the satellite still works as usual.

Tp link kasa is my favorite home-automation brand ... Mi "casa" Su casa... That's where they got the name kasa "home".. I have to try and be the grammar police on the internet haha.. Awesome video as usual and fantastic revies. I have that dimmer!!

Hi Brett another good video. I see you took your brilliant control switch off for the demo. I have to say Brilliant controls and smart switches are awesome. Work with Alexa-homekit and Google.. Sonos control and all switches are dimmable and all have motion detection built in. Also you can set any smart switch when double tapped to control about switch or scene. I know they are on the expensive side but I candy say enough good things about them. Very easy to set up. They can also control fans as well.

Mine has been working flawlessly. I have one upstairs and one down stairs. Then I have 20 smart switches. You should do a review on the switches and how they work and what they cab do.

Hi Tech With Brett, we are manufacturer, our artificial blue skylight can produce the natural sunshine. We called it Artificial Sunlight Simulation Skylight. It allows you to set up the Light to replicate the gradually changing colors of the day so the sensation of daylight can be reproduced in settings where natural light is lacking.

Could you briefly describe how you used a computer to update the faulty firmware? Also, does this work well with non-dimmable lights?

Good question. They had me download an exe file that found the switch on my wifi and then I was able to push the update to it with the software. It was pretty simple, would be nice if the software was public. If you have a location where the bulbs don't dim there is a standard 3-Way Kit: amzn.to/36es9it (affiliate)

do you guys know of other 3 way smart dimmers that are good? I had some bad experiences w/ some of kasa's switches and disconnections in my previous house. I am cursed with my new house having a lot of 3 way switches. Prior owners decided every light should be able to be turned on/off from every part of the house :(

Hi, Brett good evening hope all is well! great videos! question it states that these TP Link 3-way switches do not come with a neutral wire, does this mean we would need to buy the neutral wire at a local electrical shop?

It does have a Neutral on the back that can be added into a Neutral bundle. You shouldn't need to buy anything extra.

Brett, Can you adjust the brightness prior to turning on like with the Kasa HS220? I still like Lutrons approach to 3 ways better, 1 switch + pico remotes. However I find it unacceptable that the Casettas will not remember and return to previous brightness. That is the only reason I went with Kasa over Lutron for single pole switches in my home.

Yes you can adjust the brightness and then turn the light on. I have a combo of both devices and it is kind of nice to have both.

Lutron is only smart dimmer I have found for 4 way locations. I have one 4 way and 2 3-ways, so stayed with lutron for those. Rest of switches are kasa, really like the switch operation, one big button.

@@supremancy I did and exchange on Amazon, bought it with Prime. After installing the new switch it worked fine. I never got a clear answer from them what to do, or what the problem was. Was it my lack of understanding, or their lack of explanation, guess we'll never know? I have a feeling it has been cleared up since, being that the replacement worked right away.

I do prefer the rocking style that these have with the satisfying click. If these were HomeKit compatible they might be the top recommendation. While the Lutron switch face is functional, it has taken some time to get used to, but overall I really like the Lutron system.

@@TechWithBrett in the Google home app, the thermostats will say error state but when I go to the thermostat itself it's still connected to wifi. The only way to fix it is to restart the thermostat itself. I've tried restarting my router and factory resetting the thermostats but I still have the same issue. Any ideas?

In Australia it you have to have an electrician do this because it is illegal to do it your self

I installed Kasa smart dimmers in 3 different places in the house and two of them have broken within 2 months. They are just more cheap junk designed to have a short lifetime.

This actually the first time I have heard of a Kasa switch breaking. Is the actual switch broken or just not operating? I would use the rest button at the bottom of the switch or turn of the power at the breaker to reset them and see if that helps.
