Fascinating. i guess behind the alter ego which is "built" mentally, there's our true essence, the light of our soul/essence of individual personality, which can't be "buillt", but rather "carved out", by cutting away the parts of us which aren't truly us.
I totally loved your summary, you are a blessing to the world. Your mind map tools are amazing and have such stickability powers, I can just visualise the whole book in my mind.
Now I have to go read it! I was curious about it and your video really sealed the deal; gonna buy it. I also subscribed because you do a great job presenting and organizing the information.
Thank you, this is so inspiring, i will definitly have fun with it! Just wondering though, is it better to make several alter egos/super heros that are each specialized for the different aspects of life, or is it better to make just one that is amazing at everything?
Great job Ethan... and thanks you for what you do here... Joe Dispenza, Grant Cardone... they've put out some good stuff. Todd Herman's Alter Ego, hard to top as a favorite.
im writing my book like this too, my artist development coach where i will say ive worked with legends in the music industry but i cant name them cause of a non-confidential disclosure lol
If someone wanna see if this work, Tyson Fury spoke about it, and, actors/actresses use this. The process is called creating a character. An easy read is ‘sanford meisner on acting’
@@ak.8161 it does. I guess the author did quite good of an explanation. The mechanism of this is that instead of focusing on ur self-doubt voices, you focus on playing the part. So that gets you to take input less personally and more objectively
I will have to watch it again as I understood that the " alter ego" was Clark Kent and it was created by Superman in order to live an ordinary life among ordinary people but now after seen comments saying they wanna have batman as their "alter ego" makes me confused, is your "alter ego" your best or worse version accord to the book concept ?
Awesome recap of the book Ethan! Thank you for this mind map. It was extremely helpful and helps me tie it with concepts I have been exploring in the past to help others. I started creating my alter ego good sheet as I listened to this video. I’ve used this technique before at the gym where I being out “the beast” as I call her and she dominates the workouts. It’s time to bring her out into every other area of life with different qualities.
this dude is the smartest guy to sell a book, he lied about working with big names and said 'for their safety i have hidden their real names' but names others real identities to fit his role, good book but dude lying about helping big names, even in his interview i caught him slipping up
Thanks a lot for the recap! What bothers me is that the author doesn't seem to go into much detail on how to make the connection with an alter ego, in case if someone is just having a hard time identifying themselves with it. That sounds great in theory, "just assume you're someone else", but how exactly, if I'm not good at self-persuasion? Also this book and the concept seems to be somewhat of a rip-off of "Superbetter"
Perhaps you are right that I didn't share enough about the 'How-To' part of adopting the Alter Ego. Will keep that in mind for subsequent books. Also I haven't read Superbetter so I cannot comment on that.
Ethan Schwandt - The Mind Map Guy it was actually in the comment section but that’s how I found this book but he talks about that he’s 2 people George st Pierre and then with his mask on he’s GSP.
omg, i have sort of done this since 1997,(i just did not know it before today) - due to alot of bad things happening, i was always full of fear.. then i inventet an alter ego.. from then to now! i can talk with people being the focus, i have not got that fear anymore.. i have taken a test as my alter ego.. and scored high, even though i did not read up on the subject.
Thanks for this amazing summary. This is my first video I've seen of yours but can't wait to check your others out now. This was very helpful and a great format of explaining the book!
Thanks Mark! Happy to have you :) Can I recommend a good book to go with this one? I really enjoyed How to Think Like a Roman Emperor. Seems to me like Marcus Aurelius is as close to a 'Superhero' as we get here on earth.
Loved it man....I am really bad at understanding the deep stuff but you made it clear.Umm...There is a book called the 1% rule it talks about falling in love with the process. The thing is I don't like studying and I think this book will do something. It would be nice if you would put it on your schedule soon.Btw I'll be binging your videos in my free time ..
Sure sir! After I'm done watching your videos on Learning and Procrastinating...I do second one a lot while I hardly do the first one😅 .....BTW Thanks for the response. I'll make sure more people come to know about you....you are doing a God's job for us readers 🙏.Thanks for making such in depth videos on lesser known books ....nobody on RU-vid is doing that.
@@EthanSchwandtTheMindMapGuy Thank you Ethan. I got the mindmap and have also finished the video. I look forward to apply these principles to my own life. Thanks.
Agreed its a GR8 book. Listened to the audio 3 times. Still lots to learn and apply from it. Loving this Mind Map Ethan. Your videos are superb. Please keep doing them 😊
Ethan Schwandt - The Mind Map Guy I call her the beast. She steps out from my darkest side to dominate what I need to get done. I’ve used her mostly at the gym to work out harder.
