"The Alvin Show on Nickelodeon" opening!

Here's what introduced me and my brother (Billdeco08) to the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise, when Nickelodeon reran the 1961 prime-time animated series "The Alvin Show" in 1994-1995. When they did, they plastered the Nickelodeon logo onto the opening sequence wherever possible, very similar to what they did with "Rocky and Bullwinkle," "Pinky and the Brain" and "Animaniacs." They would also cut one of the two musical numbers in each episode (to make room for more commercials, obviously). But it was still a great way to see the old series, and a great introduction to the Chipmunks!
Sadly in 1995, Nickelodeon removed nearly all pre-1980s animated shows from their lineup (with the exceptions of "Looney Tunes" and "Gumby," even though the latter showed the 1980s redubs of the older episodes), and this one was taken off the air as well, and hasn't been rerun anywhere ever since.
"The Alvin Show on Nickelodeon" intro (C) 1961, 1994 Bagdasarian Productions and Viacom; FAIR USE!

I remember Nickelodeon reran the 1961 prime-time animated "The Alvin Show" under the title "The Alvin Show on Nickelodeon" for about 1 year from March 7, 1994 to December 31, 1995. The show aired on weekday mornings, and later moved to Saturday mornings, and Sunday Mornings, and back to Saturday Mornings for approximately about 1 year. When they did, they plastered the Nickelodeon logo onto the opening sequence wherever possible, very similar to what they did with "Yogi Bear ("Nickelodeon's Most Wanted: Yogi Bear")", "Rocky and Bullwinkle ("Bullwinkle's Moose-A-Rama"),", "Charlie Brown" ("You're on Nickelodeon, Charlie Brown)", "Pinky and the Brain" and "Animaniacs." They would also cut one of the two musical numbers in each episode (to make room for more commercials, obviously). But it was still a great way to see the old series, and a great introduction to the Chipmunks! The network aired every episode as it originally was broadcast (save for the commercial plugs and Alvin's addition of his name to the closing). During this time, the show would air as individual cartoons and musical segments rather than full TV episodes were inserted into episodes of Weinerville until December 30, 1995. but sometime on December 1995, Nickelodeon would stop showing the full TV episode versions of The Alvin Show, but the individualized cartoon segment versions of The Alvin Show as part of Weinerville would still air on Nickelodeon until Nick ceased broadcast of The Alvin Show. I do remember the Nickelodeon intro, and I also do remember seeing the shorter version that aired during "Weinerville". Beginning in 1995, Nickelodeon dropped all pre-1980s animated shows (with the exceptions of "Looney Tunes", "Bullwinkle's Moose-A-Rama" and "Gumby", even though the latter showed the 1980s redubs of the 1950s and 1960s episodes). They had to dropped other animated shows from the network, but not just this show, but with stuff like "Nickelodeon's Most Wanted: Yogi Bear", "Underdog", the older Paramount and UPA cartoons from "Cartoon Kablooey", "Batfink" and "Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse" from "Weinerville", and this show and the individual cartoon segment versions of The Alvin Show that aired as part of Weinerville was taken off the air as well, and hasn't been shown on American TV since January 1996.

Was it ever explained why Alvin doesn't like Clyde Crashcup? I think I've only seen like three episodes of the series (which had Clyde with baseball, babies, and flight) and there's no direct interaction between them. Just Alvin frowning at him in the intro and being surprised when he found out he had to introduce Clyde Craschup.

B'casters sketch cartoon criteria variety.com/1994/tv/news/b-casters-sketch-cartoon-criteria-119525/ "Nickelodeon has its own Nicktoons -“Doug,” "Ren and Stimpy, "Rugrats” and “Rocko’s Modern Life”- each with its particular appeal. When it comes to acquired cartoons, the kids’ network is looking for some of the same things. “We look for humor-based, character-driven cartoons,” says Diane Robina, VP of acquisitions. “We go for more evergreen classic characters: Bullwinkle, Underdog, Looney Tunes, Muppet Babies.” Coming to Nick in April are “Beetlejuice” and “The Alvin Show,” featuring the singing chipmunk. Robina also buys shorts for specific slots. One spot for them is “Weinerville ,” a comedy show hosted by Marc Weiner, who often appears with his head through a curtain over the body of a puppet. Animated shorts used on the show are “mostly gems that have been hidden,” Robina says, among them Mr. Magoo and Gerald McBoing Boing. They fit the look of “Weinerville” because of the “big bodies with little feet,” she says. “I don’t think Looney Tunes would play in that spot.” Nickelodeon’s preschool fare generallly runs to stories with a moral, she says, with hand-drawn characters. It often comes from abroad, such as “The World of David the Gnome,” produced by Cinar of Canada and BRB of Spain, and animated segments for “Eureeka’s Castle".

Often times plastering their logos over the traditional openings/intros of those old cartoons. They did that for Looney Tunes, Yogi Bear, Rocky and Bullwinkle and Animaniacs. And originally, it was just the old cartoons, they didn't do this kind of this for Underdog, Muppet Babies, Beetlejuice, Gumby, The Adventures of Tintin, the 80's/90's Alvin and the Chipmunks, Tiny Toon Adventures, neither did Inspector Gadget, Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, Garfield and Friends, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, or any of the live-action shows. Keyword originally. The most imfamous example of that kind of thing would occur in 2000 with their run of Pinky and the Brain, with the intro is altered to the point of absurdity.
@susanfit47

Is there any other way that you can upload the intro and outros to Cartoon Kablooey, (the earlier version aired the late 50's-60's Paramount cartoons, and the later version aired the UPA cartoons, at the same time when the show was re-aired, but the show was now consisted of the material that was used for Weinerville, so it was anything from UPA or Paramount that cluttered the half-hour block) that Nick used to show in the early-to-mid 1990's (1990-1991; 1993-1995)? Thank you.

Do you actually have all 26 episodes from Nickelodeon now (they cut one segment per episode, for whatever reason). Some episodes have the Nick intro, some do not (one episode that I do know is "Alvin's Cruise"). Is there any other way to upload episodes of The Alvin Show on Nickelodeon online?

They need to bring "The Alvin Show" back on Nick. "Alvin" was a regular feature in "Weinerville" and the series even made its way onto the Nick schedule in the mid-90's, along with its 80's spinoff "Alvin & The Chipmunks" (we can still see that one on Cartoon Network, I believe, so just the original would return to Nick) though since they have the new series...Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks.

To be fair, Nickelodeon did try to still stuff their logo to shows intros of shoes they made aswell. Rocko and kablam have small segments in their intros where suddenly a bunch of Nickelodeon logos come flying in for no reason.
