The Amarna Letters are some of the most fascinating extra-biblical texts from the time of the Bible. Specifically, they paint a picture of the trouble the kings of Canaan were in as the Israelites began to take over the land.
I believe that you will find this fascinating and helpful as we dive into the world of Joshua and the conquering Israelites taking the promised land.
I am in debt to the research by so many archaeologists for the source material for this episode, but I want to especially thank the researchers at The Associates for Biblical Research. I highly recommend you check out the resources on their website regarding the conquest period and the Amarna Letters.

I’m curious how many of you landing here have heard of the Amarna letters before now? What about the “early” date of the Exodus?
@thevioletshowwithantichela6200
I have never heard of these letters. I can't imagine the amount of time and energy you invested in this presentation but I'm so thankful you did because this was just so exciting! The points you connected with Hatshepsut and her role, the archers mandate...God's orchestration of everything! So cool!! Thank you Darren for this ministry ♥

Yes and yes. This subject matter is the closest thing I have to a passion. As I mentioned in the comments, I FIRMLY believe Moses and Senenmut are one and the same. Senenmut disappeared from the historic record about the same time Moses fled to Midian, according to the Bible. Is it possible you could discuss Senenmut and his importance to Hatshepsut at some point?

That is very fascinating. I hadn’t considered that. Everyone seems to think they were lovers, but maybe he was truly the only beloved son of Hatshepsut, a rare commoner adopted into royal life.

An early Exudus (1440 BC or earlier) could only have happened in a vaccuum: An invincible, god-powered kingdom right in the heart of a province in which Egyptian control was at its height, lasting for 300-400 years? And nobody but Bible writers noticed, seriously? On the other hand, an Exodus, of smaller proportions could have happened in the wake of the Bronze Age Collapse (1190-1140 BC), when a 200 years long dark age took place. Why do biblical enthusiast *never* take into account the Bronze Age Collapse is beyond me. It is by far the most marking event of Antiquity.

An amazing effort. Grateful for this. What's very striking is the honesty with which you explain a very dense story. You're right, though, the Amarna Letters are very important and merit being placed at the centre of the archaeology of this period.

This is one of the best contemplations I've seen yet on the Exodus and the conquest of Canaan. 💯🔥

I have been studying this for years and I firmly believe that Moses and Senenmut are one and the same. Could you talk about this?

🌈 Let me try... Exodus 1:11 the pharoah is building only 2 cities, not 3 like some say, called Pithom and Pi Raamses... its known in history that Ramses II built and finished the two... but.. did he begin them ? or his dad Seti I or his GF Ramses I ? .. Pithom means House of Atum God in Hebrew... Pi Raamses means House of Ramses in Hebrew... Exodus 7:1 the pharoah worships only one God.. not many Gods... so all the pharoahs before Amenhotep IV along with Tut, Ay, Smenkare, Neferatue, and Horemheb follow the many gods... and Amenhotep IV did not build the 2 cities.... also Exodus says pharoah rode on horse chasing Moses... Ramses I was too old to ride as pharoah so it narrows down to younger Seti I and Ramses II... now ask this one... would God reward the exodus pharoah as a great with lots of women and children flourishing is ?.. or make him be forgotten in history ?.... the exodus Pharoah is Seti I... his father Ramses I wanted to build Pithom for his one god Atum and Pi Ramses for himself.. he dies right when construction begins so Seti I begins to build 2 cities for his dead dad using lots of slaves... now Moses arrives... God takes Seti I first born son Seti II who sits on throne with his dad about age 15 to 18.... God forces Seti I second born son Ramses II to take the throne soon.. all Egyptian firstborns were not buried with family cuz of the curse... Seti I first year of reign is Exodus 1290 BC... so Seti I now has 10 more years on the throne after exodus ... one year for each of the 10 plagues of Egypt.... total 11 years... soon under Ramses II egypt rebuilds again and the cananites are done mostly... Ramses II son Merneptah ruled 10 years and wrote about the Seed of Israel is dead abt 1208 BC....look it up... some think Israelites cross save over to land of milk and honey abt 1207 BC.... so....Seti I, who has the worst boring profile of all Pharoahs in the 18th and 19th dynasties, is the pharoah of the Exodus.... While Amenhotep II who brought in over 100,000 Israelities, the timeline of Seti I is plenty of time for the Israelities to flourish above 600,000.....Huggs ❤...🌠

Wow I agree that Tut was Pharoah during Moses. The dates line up! Academia denies the significance of Tut. But we all know why they put so much focus on him.

I would actually say that Tuthankamun (Tut) was Pharaoh during the early time of the Judges. One of the reasons why Tut had so much attention paid to him was because his was one of the only tombs ever discovered that raiders hadn’t already found and extracted anything of value. It was essentially untouched since the time of his death-something I don’t know if they’ve discovered before or since.
