He's definitely dead on with that quote . I watch MNF on mute with music blasting in the background. That Manning brother crap ain't no better , those fools straight bore me to sleep. It sounded like a good idea , but it turned they're almost as bad as the other lame ass crew on ESPN.
The reason he was afraid of heights is when he played college football at cal Polly San Luis Obispo he was sick so he missed a game and he wasn’t on the plane that ended up crashing and killing everyone on board.
Madden was not on the Mustangs football team at that time (1960). He did however know many of the people on board the plane. Only about half the occupants of the plane perished in the crash however.
He knew more about the game than anyone else ever will. He always would pull out some obscure pieces of trivia about the game while announcing. I miss him already.
Man’s a legend he gave 1/2 pound candy bars out on Halloween it was our family tradition to stop at at his house and wait in the long line for some candy.
The voice of the NFL was also the soul of the broadcast booth. The man made horrible games worth watching just to hear him break down the plays and his stories about certain players. The Legendary Legacy of Madden will never fade the man was just to damn good for that to happen! RIP--John Madden
RIP JOHN MADDEN.Football will never be the same!Listening to your commentary I know now that I was lucky to grow up listening to you I am now 41 brings tears to my eyes.
R. I. P. John. The greatest name in football. Is it just me, or did anyone else had an eerie feeling watching him at the end of his tribute? Like he wasn't long for the world?
He is the NFL, Rest In Peace! I have a Super Nintendo console with a John Madden Game. Down in my vacation house, in Cape cod Massachusetts. I’d always go there for the weekends to play! That game was literally my childhood
Rest easy John u shall be missed greatly .. I'm a 80s baby so I grew up watching n listening to madden ,I hear maddens voice instantly think of Monday night football he helped my generation learn the particulars of the game , man his energy was second to none and he gave us the best football video game ever
And he also gives insight into the man in a fun and entertaining way. These guys are clearly sports fans so obviously they have respect for one of the biggest names in sports. Your comment really fits your name
@@eickengelson8120 I am European and know who is and that's exactly my point 🤭😂 The guys quotes and lines catched on in Europe similar to how Marshawn Lynch "I am only here so I don't get fined" was shared around Europe. Plus he literally had a video game named after him. Even if you didn't play it you saw and knew of the game. Guy was able to grow bigger than the sport itself and become known globally. If you was to ask an average European to name someone involved in the NFL. John Madden would be the most common name.
I meet Mr.J..Madden back in the early 90's at a Monday Night Eagles game at VETERANS Stadium I snuck a Philly Ches Steak in He seen me eating it came over to me and asked me if it was good I sead find out for yourself and gave him the rest of it He ate it in 3 bites It was his first of many I'm sure of that REST IN PEACE JOHN MADDEN You will be missed
Fuck 2021. Just when you though that it was finally over this fu*ckin year took Betty White and Madden right at the last day of 2021. It could not give them more time. They survived the worst of 2020 and 2021 just to past at the last day of 2021. What that fuc*. Rip.
