Say what you will about this game, but you can’t deny that this game has some well choreographed and awesome finishers. Some are even better than the ones in Spiderman PS4

Say what you will about this game but if I had to pick one thing that I loved the most about it was the takedowns!! One moment spider-mans kicking, the next punching, webbing, and the next thing you know there’s all these acrobatic, air defying throws that feel like they have so much flare yet much more impact! I think THIS is what the ps4 game was missing… in that game, Spider-Man was mostly a kicker and rarely threw punches unless it was an uppercut. Here he makes use of both of his hands and feet!! It’s like the Russian Badger said, “You’ll be going all Jackie Chan on a horde of enemies…” Speaking of which…. After rewatching the video over and over… I did notice a lot of martial art elements of karate to taekwondo, Muay Thai and capoeira… and definitely hints of tricking, lucha libre, gymnastics and breakdancing!! Speaking of which…. If anyone here knows what these kinds of specific throws are, please tell me what they’re called and where they’re from!! I really can’t tell if it’s from lucha libre or pro wrestling or from another style of fighting I’m not thinking of…. 0:16 - anyone know what that over the top throw is called?? 0:20 - I’ve seen this move lots of times in the game and I still can’t put my finger on it… looks like something from lucha libre or WWE… 0:25 - still can’t tell if that was a kick that sent that dude flying or just the weight of the throw…. 1:06 - I’m still wondering if that is a jiu-jitsu move or judo… 1:27 - okay… I know that may be from lucha libre but I can’t remember what it’s called… 1:37 - now THIS move is something I’ve been trying to search for awhile now… where you lock your opponent by their neck your ankles or shin and throw them…. 1:42 - now this is another move I’d like to try… if it is possible… 1:48 - This is a combo string I would like to see someone recreate in real life and breakdown every move!! 2:01 - flare from breakdancing! Now that’s 🔥 ! 2:05 - seriously… that throw at the end is something I’ve been trying to search for and still no luck…😅

damn! i didnt kno there was *this* many finishers (only performed/knew like 10 in this vid when theres double). by how much there are its clear this game had bigger ambitions by the dev team and upper management heavily limited them or whatever. no joke this is one of my fav spiderman games. ps4 (2018) is the best but the final speech of stan lee's in this game saved some shred of compassion for this very flawed-game. which goes to show exactly how much i liked lee's speech when this younger and brasher rendition of spiderman needs guidance.

I find it ironic how TASM 1 & 2 movie games likely had a far lower budget than Marvel's Spiderman for PS4/PS5 when the sheer amount of combat animations for finishers and stealth is just so f*cking high, contextual, and versatile. goes to show tht passion paired with a sizeable budget is what really matters. obv the playstation series has more passion put into but the stakes are different--this was a movie game fit to be a cash grab but despite its lackluster identity still sports amazing passion and the animations are evidence of tht. puts insomniac's spiderman to shame. Game literally comes out next week and i see Peter using "Symbiote Surge" and literally only having a total of 4-5 unique instant-finishers on all enemies. not a bad amount but its bare minimum and v disappointing
