Those slugs are pretty nice. I always feel like a kid watching these videos. Who cannot love shooting crazy things with a shotgun, using strange and exotic slugs? My first gun was a 22LR rifle. My second gun was a 12ga 870 my Dad got from a pawn shop. It was rough. We took it apart, refinished the wood. Someone left the thing in the rain or something stupid like that. The metal was fine. I used to shoot all manner of crap at the county dump with that gun. I even fished with it! I got up on low bluffs overlooking the river and would shoot gar when they came to the surface. Gar would always screw with my trot lines. I am 65 now and I still use that gun for dove and turkey hunting every year, and for varmint work around the chicken coop at night here on the ranch. These videos make all those memories flood back. Thanks guys. Very enjoyable for sure.

@@It-b-Blair Yeah, thanks. Supersonic characteristics are all about maintaining a pocket of air around the object that ultimately refines itself as the optimum flight shape for passing the bulk of the air. A flat front, perpendicular to trajectory is never optimum. A stepped or angular nose might be better, but the classic bottlenose shape fits most ballistic shapes, supersonic or not.

I loved that secondary shock wave. I still think it had to be the sound return coming back. I wonder if you could make a blank round with no projectile or a projectile that would still allow pressure in the bore to build that would almost instantly go subsonic out of the barrel and shoot that closer to the ground to see the sound wave separate of the shock wave from the projectile. There's some kind of fun science going on there.

At 14:01 when you look at the lead plate, the big upcurl you can see with the dark patch shows that the lead was not cast properly so didn't bond properly, hence it ripped apart on impact. My husband noticed this and understood what he was seeing since he has done engineering inspection in foundries amongst others. Evan has created another beast of a round!!! Surprised at how true it flies and it packs one hell of a punch. Love this channel. All the best fron England

@LENZ5369 3 месяца назад
Actually you are talking about 'metric' system in both cases -US gov 'legally/technically' switched to metric in the 1800s (all USC are defined in metric, eg. US 1 lb is legally 0.4536 kilograms), most scientists in the US started switching to metric in the 1800s and up until the 2000s NASA used both (with US customary was mostly used for comms with the public and businesses); since then -them (and most of the US gov) is overtly 'metric'. Additionally there a bunch of stuff for which USC has no units for; eg. electricity -NASA would have needed to invent new USC units; without metric.

The performance of these merits further experimentation IMO. Possibly a pointed tip, or an even a harder tip like tungsten for a penetrator round. My other thought was a serration spiral to the front half, similar self drilling construction screws. That may do some damage! Anywho, thanks again guys for doing what you do so very well.

Great stuff guys! Evan sure put some doozies there for you. Of course, it's the skill of the Loader and eye of the marksman/person that makes the shot too, but as Eddy said, Wow, That's Somthin' Else! Nice one Evan! If you're in Scotland this week, you got the best weather we've had this year Gregg. Enjoy the travels Gregg, and thanks again Jeff(Geoff?) All the best! Cheers!

Loving that T shirt, please don’t send me one😂😂. If we didn’t know that Greg had retired we might think he was growing that beard for undercover work. The can of peas was awesome. Have a great visit here in the UK 🇬🇧.

Awesome video. I'd also like to point out that OG has better aim than he thinks. When he's pointing at the like button at 24:00, he is actually pointing directly at the thumbs up on like button (if you're on a PC with a 1080p screen, and not in fullscreen or theater modes).
