If you are an organ purist, you may not like this.
PLEASE READ THIS
This is as experiment, my main keyboard is broken and some of the notes either don't always work or stick on, which is very off putting. Will anyone give me the money to buy new keyboards? I doubt it :-)
Here I am playing three rag tunes -"The American Husband", "Levi Jackson's Rag", Peacock Rag then back to Levi Jackson's Rag" on my Hauptwerk Salisbury Cathedral organ - on the fly hence some "goofs" with the accompaniment and tune.
There are two separate attempts here, the first I made some mistakes, the second I also made many mistakes and the keyboard was getting worse. I hope to make another recording of this if and when I get new keyboards.
Also my computer cannot cope with more than about a third of the stops selected when playing fast music, it was at its limit here and you may hear some extra clicks while it catches up with itself.
The pictures are all taken by me on a visit to St. Alban's Cathedral in 2012 which has the longest nave in the UK and its total length is one foot shorter than Winchester Cathedral. The organ is slightly larger than Salisbury and built by Harrison & Harrison's of Durham UK who also maintain Salisbury.

I've watched all your videos over time and have subscribed to you but some how missed this one, first time I've heard this song/tune but it sounds great :) if your ever in Cambridge (Cambridgeshire, not Glouchester or the USA ;)) then let me know, lots of organs here to be played :)

Thanks Mike for your comment. I love pipe organs but a lot of the music played on them bores me to tears and controversially a lot of Bach's music, musical genius as he was, falls into that category as I just hear it as finger and foot practice exercises. I'm a sucker for a good melody and without one somewhere in the music, I switch off. Variety is the spice of life they say, I like all sorts of music and quite frankly I prefer what I played here to most music whether classical or general pop.

Don't ask me for the music as it is hand written and has guitar chords underneath so I made it up the accompaniment as I went.

Hi Peter, I favour organ playing sacred music / hymns however I do enjoy any type of music played on organ. Music played on a pipe organ almost always gives me a severe case of goosebumps ! Thank you, I enjoy your music, keep up the good work and God Bless you.

Thank you for this!!! I am a proponent of music like this played on classical organ. I LOVE IT! And, of course, it is very well presented.

+Steve Hetzel Thank you. It was some time ago and I know I can do better now. I am hoping to record and upload some more of this sort of thing soon. Listening to this again, I can hear so many faults though in my defense I was using a very worn out keyboard with notes that didn't always work straight away.

I think it's always good to trot out music like this sometimes because it shows off the versatility of the instrument (and the organist too for that matter). Good show!

Wouldn't mind hearing these on the Redford Barton set! Very nicely done on the Willis though...

Very well played! Why use pictures of Saint Albans cathedral though instead of Salisbury Cathedral?

Thank you. Good question about the use of pictures from a different location. At the time I had used other pictures I had taken of Salisbury on many other videos and I had taken some pictures of St. Albans Cathedral, so I wanted to upload them, bit odd I know :-)
