For such a big company as they are you would think they would be more professional. Running down a carrier verbally sounds to me like someone needs to come in there and clean house rid of that rifrash trash

Back in 07’ I was parked for the night at the Flying 🪝, and I watched a Werner driver argue and then stab his girlfriend like three times. Then he pushed her out the truck on the fuel island, and drove off. No worries though, a JB Hunt driver pulled up, picked her up, used a roll of duct tape to patch her , and then he blew her back up, and put her in his truck!! 🤣🤣🤣

THE Security guards expected problems . I'm guessing they have the same problem on a nightly Basis.

FCFS is the worst acronym for truckers. If it were me I'd be proactive and start calling the receiver before arrival and making sure an appointment is scheduled. The broker only cares about getting paid, not taking care of the driver/receiver/shipper. Just because the broker says it exsist doesn't mean it really does.

Same thing is happening over here in Europe also. Companies treating their drivers poorly, always looking for the cheapest way of shipping stuff. And people talking trash about truckers etc and yet they forget who drives and ships the goods, food, cars etc that we all need on an daily basis. For me i'm just happy that they still run, despite the high cost of fuel these days.

This is part of the reason I retired early. Nobody’s in charge anymore. Whether it’s the broker, the shipper, or the receiver, there’s just too much indifference to the drivers issues.

I had a drop and hook where they regularly made me wait 2 to 8 hours. No restroom or anything. Won't tell you roughly how long. Just sit in your truck and we'll tell you when we're ready. This kinda crap is why I'm pulling my last load right now. These people are losers.

One of the main reasons I got off the road in 2006 was because I got tired of sitting at shippers and recievers all day. I would go in for a 12pm appoinment somewhere and wouldn't get unloaded or loaded until 8pm. Some weeks it felt like I was doing more sitting than driving. Being away from home just to sit somewhere got too lonely and boring.

I would encourage anyone that has to have an OTR company job, to pull a chemical tank. I was treated like royalty compared to how a van/reefer driver gets treated. The difference between how you're treated when what you're delivering keeps the plant from shutting down vs just replenishing inventory is astronomical.

Glad they got you in and out at P&G. I Hope the next load goes well with no delays. When I was a Shipper and Receiver I always hustled to get the drivers in and out as quick as possible and gave honest times. Now I drive and I am fortunate I know the tricks and like you just say load will go back with respect. They usually find a way to make it happen. Safe travels and God Bless

i used to work for the railroad as a switchman... if a railcar is taken to a customer and it cannot be placed due to the customers fault, the customer is charged a $535.00 per car intra-terminal switch fee and a $110.00 "unable to spot" fee... customer also has 24 hrs to release a spotted car or a demurrage charge applies, from $80.00 per day up to $200.00 per day depending on demand status for that car type... i spotted boxcars loaded with kraftliner at a place called tenneco packaging, you should see that clamp truck driver busting the seals off the car doors while i'm still shoving the boxcar in the building, he can't even wait till i spot the car safely... he was instructed to get the stuff off those railcars FAST and release the car to avoid demurrage fees... the railroads don't "F" around with their customers

This is an industry problem. They need to fix there scheduling.

This is an easy breezy load compared to the loads I’ve been hauling lately. Brokers and dock workers are a nightmare to deal with now. Definitely want to quit now.

Hey just got a chance to watch this. That river you crossed on rt 309 is the Susquehanna. It does get preety low at times. Huge catfish in there. It actually empties into the Chesapeake bay.

I sent the link to this to some folks I know at P&G Supply Chain.......Not sure if it will help, but P&G prides itself in being the most efficient and forward thinking organization. Hopefully this is just a result of them struggling to find "good" workers at their Mehoopany Paper Plant.

In the Netherlands we have the same problem, ignored when u arrive to load or unload on several places. In coronatime we got thumps up, now we are again a problem for them. That's why I drive at night and have it a lot less. I was and will always be nice to all paople, because the next time it can help u.

For the drop visor I'd ask your local auto body shop. My car guy did mine several years ago and no problems yet

Unilever is kind of like P&G, all kinds of consumer products. I'll haul them over P&G. Of course, I'm a company driver so all my loads pay the same and I get paid hourly detention after 2 hours at a shipper or receiver to help soften the blow of lost mileage pay, but it's still a hit to my paycheck to be detained.

My brother drove OTR for big companies for several years. Got fed up with the loading / unload hassles, especially in big cities. Ended his career with years of local day runs for oil fields. Amazes me how businesses that depend on truckers treat them like they wish they would go away. Don't think I would have patience for that

I have owned P&G stock for many years very stable company pays a good dividend they used to send me a coupon for Tide detergent but no more.It's ridiculous the way they treat truck drivers I would probably put them on the #@%% list.if I ever went back it would be a 1000$ surcharge just for the BS

Great post!! Blasting out P&G out of Pennsylvania. It seems like warehouse wants to control how they receive there loads. But you are right there should be a protocol in place to receive and unload in coming freight.

Those P&G loads sometimes can get hectic coming out of tunhanock or mehoopany. Safe travels 🫡

Amazing what OTR go through. I was with a friend a few years ago. Was in the truck for almost 5 years, and it is amazing what you go through out there. OTR truckers have a real tough job.

I can assure you that it is nothing personal. That particular warehouse treats everyone like poop. They are one of the reasons that I am now in the LTL business going terminal to terminal. Keep the faith and hopefully we all come out of the other side of this current environment stronger and better than ever.

just recently did some loads for Convoy and when I was late for one empty trailer move destination drop. I lost the entire load fee, under 100 dollars. beware stay on time

As a loader in a huge warehouse I see the disdain for the truck drivers by the shipping people every day . The truth is that if they expedite some thing they might have to get on a lift and help stage product ! AC office or no AC warehouse . Winter it's the same . Nice heated office and no heat warehouse ! Trust me a whole bunch of office people could use a poundage reduction program ! It been like this for ever. I was doing LTL. They tell me check back in 2 hours. I tell them call tomorrow for a redelivery in a couple of day after a redelivery fee. And they would take it quick.

It’s a CH Robinson issue. They tell you when they want you to deliver but they never make the appointment for you. That’s why when it’s a “Cheap and Heavy” load I call the receiver and check the appointment. Total Quality can be a pain for the same reasons plus they call every 15 minutes.

Most of their loads are brought by company trucks, whose drivers have no choice but to sit there till the customer feels like unloading.

If companies treats there drivers excellent. Give them time off to spend time with family. And pay them for each load they do. We have a driver that used to work for Walmart. His dad was ill and he went home to be with him and his mom. His dad does days later. Walmart trucking company calls him and says u get back in the truck and go to the east coast. He said that he can't do that cause the funeral is in 2 day's. They fired him over the phone. He sued for unemployment benefits and won. Walmart sent him a document that stated he's banned from all the Walmarts in the US. That's why we don't do Walmart loads. Cause they will treat you terrible if ur not an employee for Walmart but just a trucking company that they are using since they are losing driver's. Walmart refused to pay us for a load ww did for them about a year ago. I went and got the trailer and towed it to the yard. Walmart was not happy at all . Jackie Bosslady said pay us for our service. Walmart called police who didn't do anything. Walmart lost the load of products which was clothing and shoes and canned food products. We donated to the homeless people.

When I was a sprout the truckers were known as "The Knights of the Road". If a woman had trouble she & kids could depend on a trucker to stop and help. Our society has unfortunately changed. I have seen a lot of aggression /bullying/stupidity from truckers in recent years. It is our society, and it is part of the trucker society also. SAD!!

I'm thinking of switching to heavy hauling/flatbed or tanker. Dry van is a nightmare lately.

There talking about a major shortage of DEF coming in the fall .So I guess there prepping for it.Just a look out heads up Justin on that product.DEF gonna be in short supply comeing in the fall months .might want to keep that in mind if that's the case.

P&G, staples, Pratt industries, sears, home depot, lowes, target, there are lots of company who play with drivers time & money 💰 not all but most of them always issues 🙄 & not just shippers & receivers a lot of truck repair locations suck as well the best location i like if I'm in the area off hwy 44 / 69 big cabin their roadside is gr8 & fast visiting the shop as well friendly professional & fast solid repairs. stay safe drivers

Talking about the full moon, its just coming over the house roofs here (23:30), and it looks really yellow, large and there's just a touch of cloud crossing over. It only needs an owl in a tree to make it look ghostly🤣🤣. Just re-watched the part of using the drone, and there seems to be a runway for small aircraft between you and the river🤣
