I only just found out about Matthew Rhys' accent. That's always a surprise. It's also good to know that people making such a great show are having some fun at it, too.
I just marathon watched the first four seasons. Great program. It's good to see them laughing and cutting up in the bloopers! And now, they have son Sam together born in May 2016. Makes sense!
ninecastles It's not a spoiler. The actors, Keri Russelll and Matthew Rhys, in real life have a son together. They have been in love for a couple of years. Nothing to do with the program. I can't help if you don't read or watch the news. And keep your physical violence to yourself. You're really mean.
I absolutely LOVED this show.. I was so sad at the end when the daughter was on the platform!! My heart hurts for them not seeing their kids again.. then I reminded myself it was acting and they all got paid to make me cry!! LOL . Miss them all now!
You know, I used to think she was like too goody looking. Now after watching the Americans I am fucking scared of her... her character is so cold and brutal.
I feel like this is the kind of bit Angie Tribeca would do, especially in earlier seasons. Actors are deadpanning everything but there's just some random thing thrown in there just to goof up the scene :)
I still say the funniest scene in the shows history was in the season 1 pilot when they were talking about the fringe benefits of a wine cellar. Of course, this is one tense damn show, so anything that breaks the mood and makes you smile counts.
And English isn't even his first language. He grew up speaking Welsh. He told this story about the casting process for "The Americans": He came in and started to read with his natural Welsh accent. He didn't think he would have much of a chance, because he wasn't "a big name" back then, but he got the job. They told him, they knew he was right for the role, when they heard him do the whole bit with an authentic Russian accent. At first he was confused and thought about telling them, that this was in fact Welsh... but then he just said, "Yeah, uhm... that's totally what I did: Russian accent!" 🤣🤣🤣
this is the closest I found to the song @ 3:00 .. "Lazy Sun" by AN-2, but I think in the soundtrack it is a different mix ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-njUxEupSg-I.html
They should have use this video to summarize difference in sense of humour between Americans and Brits. Just check Noah Emmerich's and Matthew Rhys gestures.
