Great video! The Americas seems to be a very solid complex, although the theming could be improved. My biggest griefence is that it seems like you can see a lot of the animals only through chain-link fences. The tamandua exhibit is also not a great sight. I'm alwasy happy to see an outdoor alligaor enclosure though, because we really don't have many of them in our european zoos. Thaks for the detailes impressions and keep up the good work. :)
I love your tours. To answer your question, I’m excited for Asian Passage at the Birmingham Zoo, as well as the Smithsonian Zoo’s updated bird house. I also have two questions. 1. How would you compare World Wildlife Zoo to other zoos and why? 2. If you were to showcase any new exhibits, which ones would you showcase and why?
1. Wildlife World Zoo differs from more standard AZA zoos in a few ways. The exhibits are not as organized by animal type or geographic region, the exhibits tend to be more simple with less immersive elements, although there is some really nice ones, and there is some species displayed like Pileated Gibbon and Striped Hyena that you typically don't see at AZA zoos. Overall I had a great time there. 2. Two new exhibits I'm hoping to showcase are the new Kodiak Ridge at the Toledo Zoo opening on March 16th, and the new African Forest, Pygmy Hippo Exhibit at John Ball Zoo.
