Arthur Williams scientifically the energy in your body would leave and dissipate into the surrounding area as your body decomposes, but their isn’t any evidence that consciousness or anything else remains from your life in that energy, or that that energy stays together by some mystical force. This song is what got me into this genre. This song got me through so many tough times. My friends always downgrade this genre and say how 'emo' it is and how the screams are pointless. People like them dont realise how much this type of music can affect people. The lyrics, the raw emotion. Amazing.

I feel you! I have always loved this type of music because it has to do with real life and how people feel about this world, like this about suicide. Not what ever the genre for music is today, pop? I have to tend to agree with you there I just found these guys and I'm always looking for new music I'm a headbanger from the 80s of course it was somewhat of a different time but anyway since I found these guys I've listened to 10 songs in a row and every one of them are the f****** real deal this is a really talented band and the great thing is yeah they've got the screamer and they've got the singer but they have their own sound nobody sounds like these guys really other than the fact of the screamer and the singing and they keep it simple every f****** song is great.....

It can, but that's not what this particular band has focused on. The singer suffers with depression and they know people who also suffer with it. "Normal" people can have depression too, by the way, and "normal" people can enjoy the music without being depressed.

I cant tell you how much this song means to me... my brother commited suicide years back and my depression took over me and I always found myself looking for his face in big crowds even though i knew id never find him... countless times I wanted to take my life after he passed but I knew the burdens id leave my family with and I took these lyrics and heard them in my brothers voice telling me not to do it.... So from the bottom of my heart thank you for this song

The first song I heard by The Amity Affliction which helped me from what I was going through because of the chorus in the song which I feel like the band is asking me about my depression: Are you at all haunted by memories past? Are you ready to make this one breath your last? Is your chest so heavy you're ready to leave? Or are you just hoping that someone will grieve?, I chose the right decision of moving on with my life, so I'm happy that my depression is gone.

I understand that people may not like the screaming but at the end of the day bands like these are the ones trying to actually make a difference and affect people. These songs are not about screwing and using people but about finding yourself when you are lost and showing people that no matter what you are not alone. It's truly amazing to come to the comments on some of these song and to just see that strangers are reaching out to others to let them know they are not alone! this band is amazing and so are you guys!

People don't hear it in music like this if they don't already like it because all they focus is the screaming and that's perfectly fine. Same reason you probably don't hear the messages in music you personally don't like because how can you hear it if you're too busy thinking about how much you don't like it?

bourky93 all songs may have a message but honnestly, I'm in love with the coco, that song doesn't mean shit xD. mostly rap songs talk about twerking and showing off them butts, that'S why I hate rap. all other style is ok tho. plus it'S not only screaming. if you check out the lyrics, and listen to all these harmonies, when do you hear harmonies like that in rap music or pop? sometimes yes, but not as much as in this kind of music. but yeah, my sister didn't liked this cause it had screams in it, I showed her the lyrics and tyhe harmonies and she liked it, she only listen to metal now.

There is something nostalgic in those 2012 times when i was young and depressed, wanted to die, often cut my arms and face to blood.. and found this band. I'm 28 now and this is still my favourite band and my top 1 track. And i'm still depressed, just kinda learnt how to live with it. But somehow i want to travel back, i want to feel that again, don't know why. It felt so heavy and emotional back then, it was so true. Please, let me be young again. Let the Amity Affliction be young again.

That hits home dude. I am same age as you and still depressed like I was as a youth, just gotten used to living with it. I think we've become increasingly resistant to the overwhelming emotional feelings over the years. Like a waterfall that beats on a rock for years and shapes it. I reckon it's super unhealthy for our everyday life to be this used to feeling down, our baseline emotional level is lower than it should be. I think we will have massive regrets if we stay in this state throughout our 30s aswell. Goodluck dude

This song means literally everything to me, especially in my darkest moments when i have no one around and I feel absolutely alone. When I hear this I remember the time I did something and almost died i am so happy to be alive. It reminds me specifically how my death would affect others and when Im gone there is nothing...No ghosts, no heaven, no hell, nothing at all.

The reason they censored it is so they cant be blamed or sewed for "promoting" people causing self harm as well as the other things they censored (i know its fucking stupid but its politics and people are fucking stupid get use too it). Its mostly too protect themselves but also too relay their point through music without completely removing it. Hope this clears up any confusion :P

this was the very first amity song that I've ever heard (around same year of release), scrolling through channels and there was this, I instantly fell in love. TAA is also what got me to listen to this genre, so coming back to this video feels kinda surreal. I haven't had the opportunity of seeing them live, but one day! one day, I'll get to see them and it'll be one of the best days of my life.

This seems original. So let me be the first to say I’m getting a tattoo of the amity affliction band logo ghost outline and then I’ll have lyrics that say “ I had stayed spoken to a friend.” A twist on the lyrics in this song that’s gotten me through such dark tough times. I owe this song a lot. And I’m glad I reasoned with myself it was okay to feel these emotions and understand them to help myself guide me through it and all. I spoke to myself and I chose to live.

was 15 when this came out now im 23. Remember listening to this album constantly and it being sort of a soundtrack to my depression and everything i was feeling at the time and listening to this now takes me straight back to those moments. Funny how music can serve as a memory

this is by far the best music video ever. the strobyness with different cuts is perfect. could not have made a better music vid for this song. I love the part where they zoom up on her eyes as asian guitar guy sings "are you haunted by memories past" and the shot where they have the camera sorta looking like its flying as its recording. siiick.

Saw these guys back in February and they KILLED IT. Their whole performance was amazing, but once Chasing Ghosts started playing everyone in the crowd started freaking out. For this being the very first song I ever heard of by TAA, it's still one of my favorites.

normally i listen to one direction and 5sos and that stuff (don't judge) but this genre really does something to me, it has way more emotion than the other music i listen to, i can really feel all the emotions coming up again from when i had a depression, this scream music really does something to me, and i know this isn't so much screaming and stuff like suicide silence, but i really like this tipe of music :)
