@@gavinschulte3017 just remember, music is something for each individual to connect to regardless of your own opinion, your experience isn’t wrong or right over what someone else feels.
Here I, and I'm sure many others thought they were going to get a little softer after Misery, which I would've totally been fine with. Then, they just came back harder. Keep rockin' dudes. 🤘
@gavin schulte The lyrics are about the singers struggles with Bi Polar disorder and an tribute to the friends they lost. You don't have to like it but definitely not bullshit they have meaning. I honestly like this better than Let the Ocean Take Me, and I've been listening to them since Severed Ties.
@@coochie8670 dude, youre missing out on a banger Misery is definitely not heavy in any way, but it's still a great work of art from TAA, that album proves "soft" sounding songs can still be good if done correctly (imo, atleast)
@@RVxCobraI think most people dislike the bad writing in the chorus, people can only hear so many "woah oh oh's" Not the lack of heavy, this is the case for me, at least.
This is also what I love about mgk... Bands like amity, mgk, and blink 182, They are just damaged people that found a way to help heal through their own pain, an people just throw shade because they don't fully understand.
@@docvalentine13 I know, right? People need to quit getting offended by inspirational rock n roll. They need to educate themselves on what people are going through.
The amount of emotion in pain and sadness Joel has put into these singles for this album is unreal. One of the few bands that can make you feel so much from a song and these all hit with so much emotion. At least in my opinion.
I don’t really feel emotion from a lot of their songs because a lot of the vocals don’t affect me. But they are lyrical geniuses who have amazing talent and voices. I still love their music even if it doesn’t actually relate to me. TAA forever❤️
If they won't miss with a more melodic based song, it might be the second best. But for real they have been on fire constantly and all their albums are solid af.
@Josh Glenn they have good mellow songs lol I enjoy both their styles! I got into them because of their more mellow one. I can't always head bang at work lol
Really hope he doesn’t leave the band. They released a statement saying he’s not going on tour to focus on recovery and mental health. But unfortunately judging from his comments on IG it looks like this was a “forced break”.. personally I think it’s a little fucked up to put your band mate on blast like that, stating they have an addiction on social media.
I've only gotten to see them once, at the final Warped Tour. Whoever it was that hugged me during their set when I broke down, I haven't forgotten that moment. I really like how their fans are a family and help those that feel down and broken during their sets and shows.
I remember trying to cover Open Letter with my friends in 6th grade. Now I'm in college for music production and this band has maintained such a special place in my musical journey
@rational irrationality it's what I want to do and I know I can make a living doing it. I understand the sentiment of an arts degree being a waste of time, but you can make a good living producing music for people and its something I enjoy above anything else
My grandmother just died the beginning of this month and this song definitely definitely speaks to me in a different way now. I just hope she isn't suffering anymore wherever she is like she was down here. Dementia is truly evil and I'm struggling a lot with this death. But anyway thank you for making music I can turn to whenever my life decides to take a shit on me. ❤❤ love you guys so much
52 year old headbanger from way back. Heard everything from Anthrax to ZZ top and I'm am going to just say this is one of the BEST METAL SONGS EVER MADE. NO CAP! Change my mind! This song is fucking amazing. Hits the mark on so many points. Super impressed and can't wait to see them in Oshkosh this September
Los amo! Aquí vuelvo nuevamente, es tan adictivaa, y no puedo evitar llorar, no puedo esperar para el nuevo album!!! Desde el 2009 los sigo y que pasen los añosss, seguirán siendo mi banda favorita #1. 💕💕💕
The Amity Affliction has helped me battle my demons for many years and this new album you can tell they are really in touch with what they want to produce as a band this album is goin to be one of the greatest ever!!! FACTS
I can say with all my strength that this band saved me from my pain. All songs, vocal lines, melodies have powerful meaning! Thank you so much for existing ❤️
My pain will unfortunately last a lifetime there's no fixing a severe spinal cord injury. But on the days I don't wanna be here anymore their music helps keep me here.
I won’t lie, personally never been a massive fan, but this song. Mad respect, this is a brilliant song a hell of a lot of emotion in it, fucking well done fellas 🤘
@@B3Band pretty funny you think you have any idea why I even commented this. My life is beautiful now. It just wasn't always. And in my hard times I did lean on this band. I have lyrics from "Don't lean on me" tattooed on my entire forearm, go waste your miserable existence somewhere else dude. I'm here for love and great music. You're here to be a douche. Mission accomplished 🤷
@@B3Band Yeah seems like it, prominently featuring fans with signs line "You saved me" in their video. Sure seems like they're tired of creating hope for people... 🤡
Frontman Joel Birch said of this track “This song is a letter from myself and (co-vocalist/ bassist) Ahren , written by me, to our friends who have passed on to the other side. I’m 41. I’m bipolar. And I’m pretty tired of it. That’s where lyrics like ‘Like a snake I tire / the cold dark clouds, they steal my light’ come from. The song is wrapping up how I feel daily, and reflecting on the time leading up to my friend killing himself. I’m sure a lot of people who have experienced that guilt at not seeing what becomes glaringly obvious after the fact.”
I’m going through a really bad time in my life right now. I don’t have a doubt in my mind that your music is gonna help me get through the next few months. Even if it just helps me escape for a few minutes each day.

I'm not gonna lie, I fell off the bandwagon with you guys because the music just didn't speak to me the way severed ties, youngbloods and chasing ghosts did. I gave let the ocean take me a shot but most of it didn't resonate. You guys will hear it a lot but yall saved my life. And as thanks I got your words and some of Ahrens work tattooed on my skin. It's been years Since I've been to one of your headline shows, but I promise I won't fall off again. See you in the pit
Its crazy to have been listening since the OG days, to see where they are now. Kings. Ill never forget seeing them live at the last warped tour ever, last venue of the tour, last tour date in West Palm 2018. They played IVY and the crowd went insane. Just a moment I wont forget for some reason. Seen them live like four times, but that was the most memorable.
it was very tense this tour, too. many fans were in tears in the absence of Ahren. we had an encore for Ahren. It was one of the best ones, i was bummed but it was worth it
My absolute favorite band. I just got extremely bad news today and this lifted my spirits. Thank you Amity for once again coming around at the right time ❤🖤
I love the song, but isnt it kinda fucked up to have a song called "Its hell down here" but then show your fans a video of y'all having the time of your life? What part of being down here is hell for yall? Im sorry but thats all kinds of fucked up
It's showing everyone having a good time.. band members and fans .. It's a perfect fit for a dark song .. visuals full of hope and light .. I'm guessing you don't know the band very well 🤘
I've loved them for over half my life now, watching them grow as a band has been phenomenal. They are my #1 go to band when I'm feeling down, because it helps me feel like I'm not alone. I love you Amity, keep kicking ass and putting out some amazing tracks, I'll love this band and what they've done for me the rest of my life ❤
Love this style of music video. Haven't seen them do this style since greens avenue and skeletons. Seeing the bts stuff, happy faces and friends. Best type of music video. Gives you that insider experience.
TAA, you all saved me. So grateful to have met @ the Wiltern last year and to be able to say that in person. I cannot wait for the album to drop. I have something to look forward to ❤
honestly metal saves me EVERY SINGLE DAY and Amity was one of the first bands i started listening to. I’ve seen them before and they are just as awesome live as their recordings are. I can’t get enough of their music. It’s heavy but really emotional at the same time. Thank you guys sooo much for what you’re doing for us. We appreciate it yall don’t even know how much❤❤❤❤❤
