In this video we will be taking the world-famous Amtrak Crescent train Northbound to Lynchburg Virginia. This video invites you along the overnight Journey with me on this lovely adventure. This video was filmed in 720p on the iPhone XR ( reason being to save space considering I had low storage. ) most of this video will be be Northbound trip and the last bit of this video will be the southbound journey and a few bonus clips!

My plan is to ride Amtrax across the U.S. from Atlanta to California to New York to Atlanta. Money is no issue. It would be my vacation time 🎉

Now that the crescent leaves NOL later in the morning that makes Atlanta and points north around midnight or later.I live in Gainesville GA and the crescent used to arrive here around 830 or 900 pm if it was on time now its scheduled at 1225 am

I've never been further south than Greensboro on the Crescent. I'm usually traveling north to New York. I've passed the station many times on I-85 in ATL, and I was told that for a city the size of ATL, the station is very small, and the platform is narrow. Greensboro is where I'm from, and most morning's I hear the Crescent #20 blowing its horn🔊 in North-East Greensboro, crossing over Yanceyville Street at 7:36a.🚆

Yeah with a population of over a half million people( and it’s going to continue to grow) , ATLs Amtrak is a very small but historically important station.

train should be crossing yanceyville rd at about 3:55 am they got the schedule all jacked up after wdc you got stops like a local if you're going say to albany ny it's late at night when you arrive then on top of that they removed the dinning car which was one of the highlights of a long trip on this train

at 49:36 that's the old lexington furniture industries ( LFI ) complex a gang of job lost to cheap labor over seas as you get on up the tracks to thomasville and high point they suffered the same fate 😐

@@Flamerailzzz brooooo U ever gonna go to duluth? I railfan there like literally every weekend or any day that I don’t have school except Friday. I always go to duluth or norcross but mostly norcross. U ever gonna railfan there? It’s the NS Greenville district
