Camera Glitch and night vision shows that there is indeed a pilot's seat in that forward observation compartment. It is the only ship in the game that has visual panel damage. It is a shame that they have not rolled that out to the other ships.
Thanks - I'm going to have to check that out - I'm already feeling like a "X number of things I forgot to mention about the Anaconda" video might happen at some point, as literally the day after release I remembered it was meant to have hanger capacity for a Sidewinder (spoiler alert) - plus a few other bits, so I might have a go at capturing that and throwing it into a video later.
Sometimes I just disembark to remind myself how far away the end of the ship is to the cockpit. Its so easy to think its like 20m away but its like 100m
A fact about both type 9/10 If you find yourself having to do the loop of shame or doing large turns in supercruise it is genuinely faster to drop out into normal space, do your turn there, and then go back into supercruise. I timed it in an anaconda and taking the time needed to cool off and charge the FSD it is still faster to do large turns in supercrusie. Imp cutter is more or less break even for both methods
That's the sort of science we need - I've been in a similar boat with my Type-10 and as you say, bombing back into normal space is by far the quickest way of doing it in that particular space-slab.
I've actually got that on a script I've written basically called "Stuff I Forgot to Mention About the Anaconda" By the time I get around to recording it mind you, I'll probably have doubled the list.
Back in the day (2016-2017-2018?) I traded my Python in for the Annie...had to revert back to the Python because I didn't really have enough credits to properly upgrade the Annie to combat readiness, but another 3 to 4 months or so with the justly-fabled Python allowed me to address that. After that it was fine. (see: Elite: Dangerous Gold Rush, which was a new thing at the time.) Now I got 5.3 billion, but...whatever.
Oh absolutely agreed - for example I just bought an Imperial Cutter. The initial purchase was a bit of a dent, but I think it's fair to say outfitting it with A-rated internals has wiped out most of my finances - at least those that aren't holed up in the carrier bank.
To land in ruough terrain with an anaconda, I just keep slapping the ship's belly into the ground till it sticks. Works every time as long as you're not doing it too hard.
My AX Shard Conda is named GoidyMcGoidface. If I had millions of credits for every thargoid it’s shredded I’d have billions of credits, wait, yes, yes I do.
I love these videos. Want to take out my Ana and just look at the nose in my view. You have the ability to hype me for every ship and that is the beatuy of your work!
Thank you - I'll keep at it - I want to get all the ships reviewed and then make a start on other bits - fighters, SRVs, extended lore and all that If Frontier are feeling generous and release new ships (you never know), they'll probably get two videos each - an "initial impressions" and a long term review - but somehow I think it'll be a while before I finally get my hands on a Panther Clipper LX...
The Anaconda is my favourite ship to hunt with my corvette followed by the Type 10, which is too slow and cumbersome. However I owe earning enough to get my Corvette to owning an anaconda
It is the worst for landing on planets BUT when you call the ship in the planet and that monstrosity of a gigantic mothership comes, everything is worth it.
Great video. Alas I can't bring myself to buy it. It looks so disgusting, container carrier from bottom, the wires in the cockpit... All they had to do was put something similiar to the top plating on the bottom of the ship as well, very unfortunate.
I only fly condas lol I have 3 of them. My mining conda made me like 8 Bn in no time in the borann triple LTD hotspot back in 2019. I really should try another ship lol

GS&B - you do a great job on your video reviews. Thank you! BUT I have to disagree about the looks of the Anaconda. It ain't no beauty queen. There's something kinda insectile about the lower half when viewed outside on foot from a planet surface. Parts exposed that I'd rather not see. And that huge prow sticking out forever in front of the flight deck....doesn't make for the best visibility. The Anaconda does make a good explorer as you say. Plenty of space for everything you might need...2 AFMUs, a Repair Limpet Controller (for when I get stupid and too close to a star), 2 SRVs, and even weapons just because I can. Even loaded up as mine is, it's got a very respectable jump range. Still, it does tend to lumber. My heart belongs to the Python.
we might need this feature from star citizen where we can roam around inside the ship, store weapons, interact with stuffs like repairing modules etc.. Yes! of course it's only done in odyssey but still it'll be cool.
Preaching to the choir bud - one of the most immersion-breaking parts of Odyssey is the blue ring to get you back into your ship after a little walk. I'd much rather walk up the stairs, drop my stuff off and head to the flight deck manually. My suspicion is if FDev made a new Elite game from the ground up (Elite : Deadly?) we might get interiors, but unless that happens it's unlikely.
@@gamingsnipsandbitsYou don't play in VR. The most immersion-breaking part of Odyssey is getting kicked into a featureless gray void with a movie screen in front of you every time you go on-foot. Everything else is trivial in comparison.
Already done and after many videos about corvette i don't think to buy it because i have more hard points and place than corvette who is of course good at fight in conflict zones but not for one to one and to turn faster i use boster in combat
Still don't have an Anaconda in my fleet, I'm just not sold on it's worth to me. I'll admit it's a nice looking ship & is obviously very versatile, but it just doesn't appeal to me with my style of play. Someday though, I'm sure I'll give it a go
It's a good theory, but IIRC ships from other manufacturers with multiple seats (think Corvette, Cutter and even the small, low-priced Adder) don't have anywhere near the level of mess in the cockpit - which is especially odd in the case of the Adder since Zorgon Peterson are owned by Faulcon DeLacy from what I remember.
@@gamingsnipsandbits could it be because the corvette is a warship it might have been designed from the start to be controllable by a single pilot in case of an emergency and the Adder doesn’t really have any functions that would need more crew without modifications
It's true - where the Corvette can slay in combat harder than Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it just lacks the range to get you anywhere fast - meaning its often quicker to take the Anaconda if you need to get somewhere fast.
Paint job is called "Blizzard Frost" - I don't think there were any special requirements to get it - certainly not seeing anything in my Twitch rewards from watching previous FDev streams that look like it, but I'm not 100%
You'll get there - if the Anaconda was made for one thing, it's made to make the money to make it better. Just...make sure you have enough in the bank for a rebuy - don't want to be losing the Anaconda as quickly as it takes to hit the "purchase ship" button. o7
I did have a play with a Shardconda and got some great results (all fixed, with stabiliser - largely ripped the loadout from my Challenger) - but 100% need more practice with rails and gauss for fixed weapons - either way though, if you're using an Anaconda for the first time, I stand by using turrets / gimballed weapons at least initially while you get used to the boaty handing of the Anaconda.
I really, really, really dislike this ship. Both the Corvette and the Cutter are far superior. Heck, i even like my Type 10 far better than this ship. Abysmal IMHO
There is no ship what does exploring better. i managed to get 81LY jumprange with shield and Scarab. Diamondback only got up to 79LY max jump. Ah and i have an AFMU on my anaconda aswel, and emptry cargo racks and empty fuell tanks also dosent add weight aswell i have 64 ton fuel extra and 64 ton cargo space if needet. you dont have to fill up all the time, im mostly use this for the neutronstar traveling to places what are far away. I was out there like 5000LY from Colonia with my Krait, just to find out the Traget i wanna travel was actualy 319 LYs away 🤣 thats how i learnd to check the NeutronPlotter.
First time I went neutron jumping to Colonia it all started well - using the Neutron Plotter and working out the best route, right until my FSD cacked itself and I realised I forgot to pack an AFMU. That was...a long trip to find a carrier to repair and sell me an AFMU for future repairs.
Yep, there's a few things I missed about it (incl this and being designed originally to house a Sidewinder) - one day I'll circle back around to it properly and release a follow up with things I missed
This is a Mary Sue ship. I hate it. The magic ultralight hull, along with higher firepower than top of the line current warships like the Corvette. It should be nerfed - the hull should be twice as heavy and should not have 8 utility slots.
