Zombies are pretty gross in general. Fluids are always coming out of them. They bite a lot. Dental hygiene no where to be found. However, some advance beyond your standard gross and enter the realm of completely nasty. The slobber is one such creature. As a person was changed, their living choices would reflect in their zombified ones. A person who ate more than usual, possessed stronger acids and weaker closings of their stomach, now spews them onto others breaking down the flesh of those around them. But how did they get like this in the first place? Lets discuss that in todays episode over the Slobber from Dead Island 2!

This game’s zombie hivemind idea is honestly fascinating so Im glad you’re dipping in deeper to this series! If y’all didnt play the epilogue mission, the sewer flesh (made by the army melting zombies down) *made the earthquakes* by bending muscles. Coordinating hoardes with earthquakes broke the armies defenses

The hive mind idea is awful. It’s the one thing I hated most about dead island 2. It’s such a divergence from the first game’s virus. Zombies are zombies, there was no need to complicate it with the ticking time bomb DNA crap.

If you have a panniculus and go into surgery, nurses have to physically hold it out of the way too. And it's super heavy.

I read something about a few cannibalistic tribes who, after generations of eating their dead (due to corpses drawing predators) adjusted to kuru disease being in their bodies, and live relatively long lives with it. Think they were in new guinea. I mightve misread, but you might want to check it out, Roanoke. It was interesting

Sort of makes sense for the human body to adapt over that long of time but it would still be one hell of a process for that to even be but like you said they were under extreme pressure from their dead bringing in too many predators for them to deal with

Normally, I'm the kind of person who says it's not worth becoming a monster just to save a few people. But if it's total extinction we're facing, all bets are off and everything is fair game to keep humanity alive. It will be a horrible time and I'd likely have nightmares for the rest of my life, but at least humanity would live on.

I usually hate leaving recommendations for RU-vidrs, because I know you guys usually have a set schedule for your content, but I have Got to know if you’ve seen the monsters in Arcadian yet? They’re genuinely some of the most interesting designs I’ve seen in ages, and the whole time I was watching I was trying to pick apart their biology- Between the weird snappy head and the stomach mouth (multiple mouths??) I would like to propose an alternate theory. Humans are very violent and are known to de-brain function each other fairly regularly. What if this is a general adaptation already present that had not activated yet. A gene that is in place to make sure that the there is survival of your tribe in times of war. That will seemingly reanimate the dead, to ensure mutual destruction away from the tribe and in that perspective battlefield. Something could have initially activated this gene in the environment like certain harmless radiations (radio waves, wifi, cell signal, or just weird ozone and sun stuff) that in regular doses is harmless but in bulk we just do not know yet, then is activated when saliva of those changed comes into contact with blood of the "not infected" Just a thought coming from a degree in science in IT, good vid as always bud.

Most dangerous things I've done: Drew a gun on someone trespassing who turned out to be a cop. Somehow neither of us ended up in a body bag. If there's a multiverse I died there. Worked on a carrier flight deck. Ships don't have a morgue onboard so anyone who dies goes in the freezer storing the food. Handled explosive weapons from time to time. Even saw someone almost blow themself up when the grenade she threw bounced back at her.
