Just south of Marfa, TX near Presidio and the Rio Grande, is where they shot parts of the Science Fiction film "The Andromeda Strain".
Written by Michael Chrichton and directed by Robert Wise. Released by Universal Pictures in 1971.

Here are some pictures I recently shot there, compared with the corresponding movie scenes. I was unable to access the vantage point of the first shot, as it was on private land. You will also notice that some of the buildings are no longer there.
