I kinda came in a little biased. I'm not the biggest act man fan. But I like some of his content and probably would have sided with him more. But before the debate I did check out Andy's videos and overall my thoughts were.... he's just another quartering type who will scream about anything and call it woke. Except for the older, much better, games or movies which at the time would be considered very progressive. Overall I'll agree older games are better. But to me it just has more to do with a popular franchise that's gotten so old they don't really know what to do anymore. Call of duty had to reboot just to go back to popular characters lol. There is no competing with the original which was very ballsy.

The Starfield pronoun stuff kills me a bit inside everytime i hear it. Personally i chose he/him and never thought about it again. It was the smallest issue of the game anyway. For “some reason” my first thought wasn’t “Oh my god, they are forcing this on me”, because they are not, they are just giving an option for people who prefer something else. If my only option would be making a guy with she/her pronouns or they/them or the opposite with a girl character, then i would say, Yes, its forced and its stupid. But that’s clearly not the case.
These nutbags actually compiled a list of games that people shouldn't play because they have something "woke" in the game. These people are not reasonable and support censorship because they dislike anything they deem to be progressive. Ignore them and just enjoy playing games. Don't let people with political agendas rot your brain.
It's funny how AndyPantsy says to Act Man "you never call things woke" like it is an accusation. When anyone with two working braincells realizes that if you do that, you pigeonhole yourself as a partisan hack. Even if you hold those views, if you want to be taken seriously as someone who does reviews and media analysis, you can't be throwing around loaded terms and buzzwords like that. You have to do the work. If you rely on a shared assumption that "we all agree this thing is bad, it is a forgone conclusion," you're just pandering. But ofc the vast majority of these anti-woke grifters can't cut it. They don't have the knowledge or skill to do real analysis. Without the shared, agreed upon understanding of "woke = bad, DEI = bad, CRT = bad, not masculine = bad," they have nothing but their basic, uninformed opinions. They can't take things to their logical conclusion, they can't prove how it affects real material conditions in a negative way. Because ultimately they just don't like it, and every argument is a post hoc rationalization to justify that. It is not based on anything but that.
On the topic of muscling male characters. So are they now basically screeching about the lack of representation? Well well well... And as for the new games - the industry doesn't make a lot of new IPs anymore (and as such - new characters) as the development costs became too high so now companies are refusing to invest in anything that is not an already established brand. But i guess wokeness is also to blame for it somehow.
If they would just watch my videos on how capitalism and corporate greed are what's ruining games, we'd be saved me breaking down a stream for 2 hours smh...the never think about that
I don't like or watch the act man, but I at least appreciate him seeing through the culture war bullshit. He knew what he was going into and came in prepared albeit he probably wasn’t expecting to be talked over as much, like I can see it in his face that he’s a little annoyed being talked over. Like genuinely later on in the video he looks so done. When it comes to Andy pants, he has sold his soul to the wokescold, and he has no real choice other to feed into the grift to gain money and keep his subscriber base. He knows if he backtracks away from his wokescolding he will lose all of that he’s gained. You’d hope he’d be better in this ‘debate’, but really he just ended up running around in circles chasing his own tail. Act man came out of this ‘debate’ with the W, and he at least didn’t run around in circles and bring up three-four different topics as once to disorientate his opponent.
Can we talk about his big example of "White ppl getting taken out of Gaming" (asking for representation, cute) Was CONCORD. A fail of a Flop so Bad that everyone made fun of how unbelievably bad it was. Cause yes failed games noone bothered to buy really gonna have an impact on the industry rather than properly made smash hits everyone loves (Eldenring, Baldur's Gate 3, Doom, Space Marine, Helldivers)

What new characters were released (all of the doom games, you can’t say doom guy now is somehow just the same doom as the 80’s that’s beyond stupid. Space marine 2 are all “new characters” from the first game, as far as I am aware. Mccree was masculine, soldier 76 was masculine even though he’s gay. Overwatch had no “uglified women.” Remastered games have the opportunity to cut things, so even saying remaking old games doesn’t count is a terrible argument. 3. “Has the check cleared?” Sponsored content doesn’t mean influenced content. He also simped so hard over Starfield, which is an objectively mid game, on basically every front. Yet saying black ops 6 and saying “oh this is kinda fun” is bought and paid for? Actman is the most normie core person I've ever encountered on the internet, the fact that he got annoyed at a few terminally online feminists and laughed at a terminally online gay person once and alt right people mistook that for him being there greatest soldier in the culture war makes me feel sad for them. It speaks to a level of desperation I'm used to seeing in communities that are dealing with an absurd amount of discrimination, legal and otherwise, who are simultaneously dealing with a shitload of mental health issues from said societal discrimination. The goonergate people are now the annoying SJWs who are trying to force there politics on everyone... and the biggest issue they have to bitch about is not having T&A of the right variety for there specific tastes in ENOUGH of the games that come out.
