@@Dr_KAP It sure is. I'm so glad that we've been able to grow up listening to bands like them that can sound just as good, if not better, live as in their recordings.
I love the No Emotion the guitar player does, Total opposite to everyone. Doesn't move or smile or anything. I used to watch him a lot whenever I saw them live, The upside is that because he is standing fairly still, he can play like a beast, live he can really tear it's head off, Great guitar player, vey underrated and unknown, I think he is brilliant.
Mate good to see you digging The Angels .Your enthusiasm is growing for these guys and you get it 😊. We had them to ourselves for so long . Good to see them being appreciated by reactors like you mate and keeping their music living on . Thanks 👍
Lol, this brings back memories of speed skating at the local Ice Rink VK. So nostalgic as a GenXer😁 great reaction mate. Hope you and grandma and grandpa are all well. Love from Western Australia 👍🏼😁❤️🇦🇺🇺🇸🖕🏻🍎
I am enjoying this so much. It's amazing to find so much music I've never heard even as someone who listens to a lot of music. Thank you for being here and watching. Love and blessings to you ❤️
Doc studied acting early on in Adelaide, he used this to create his stage persona which was amazing to see live, and fucking scary at times. Saw them all over Australia in pubs and clubs and they never disappointed ever.
While there's definitely a punk / grunge sound to it, yes we would just call it pub rock. Australia was incredibly lucky. We were close enough to the UK and the US to absorb their best influences and yet far enough away to develop our own sound. The Angels were one of the bands to completely embrace all of that. G'day as always mate. All the very best to you :)
Thanks man. Love your appreciation for this fn incredibly underrated band. Love your reactions and comments. You really soak it up. Here one from them from left field, but ain’t they all: Outcast. Cheers brother.
Love you response to the Angels. Just a note, Doc didn’t write the songs. The guitarist Rick Brewster and his brother John did the heavy lifting. Doc had a notebook of verses and notes that they would also use.
Yep a lot of these Aussie bands from the early 80s just refused to buy into New Wave which took over from the punk scene worldwide, hence the genesis of what would become the pub rock scene in Oz.
Oops, theres that “ Angels Rabbit Hole” , there back catalogue is exceptional. Please play any live version of their track, ‘ Will I ever see Your Face Again”, just wait for the crowd retort to the question, so OZ, its not funny.
