What an incredible voice Eric Burdon had as a young man , I sometimes wonder if he still has it . Any positive comments are welcome .I'll be 75 in 3hrs and I am listening to this because of fond memories .
Just tuned in! Happy 75th 1/2 Birthday! This song brings back happy memories for me too - amazing how music can transport us! Many, many happy returns!
The reason they are called rock stars: They created the absolute joy of living for us then that we relive 60 years later... It's so worth being old now because we lived those magical days the world will never see again.
Yes,this was what my brother always play in his drums before Vietnam.but I Red feather salutes him and all Veterans today . Blessings Embraces Bearhugs salud Saludos de Carino ,Que padre nuestro glorious Jesus nos cuided siempre Besos fuerte Abrazos, Bendisones Amen
This is the best cover of Sam Cooke's version I've ever heard. The Animals sound as cool and bluesy now as they did in the sixties. They will never die!!!!
Eric is probably the most....I don't know how to express it....but he is the most casual singer I have ever heard with the most awesome voice...he looks like it takes no effort but truly conveys atruely mystical depth of feeling
Saw him live in some strip joint in Calgary, early 80's ? still one of my favorites, introduced me to the blues when I was around 12 and then: the yardbirds, the stones, howlin' wolf and I was hooked
Eric Burdon - A better Blues and R&B singer than ANY White Rocker from Mick Jagger to any Modern White Boy you can name. His sex apppeal eclipsed Jagger. Mick was"choreographed", while Eric Burdon was pure raw energy.
I can never get over the bluesy power and soul in the voice of this this floppy haired English kid who likes the kid out of the Aussie TV series - Skippy. For as long as I can remember, always catching his face on some album cover and wandering how is this possible.
I often tell people I am glad I grew up in the 50s and 60s we had freedom to be kids! Play after chores are done be home when street lights came on. Having the best music! Youth isn't wasted on the young! So many good memories! Eric burdons music is the best! Joe South too! So many talented singers! GODBLESS THEM AND ALL OF US!
Oh , And they were So Great 👍👍👍 , but the beatles and the stones had more than enough of a following then??? And I Have Never UnderStood WHY!!! But Always Been MissUnderStood!!!
Girl, please, Eric was frakking GORGEOUS in his youth. I make no bones about how handsome, exciting, sexy, sensuous, and stimulating ( You know what kind of stimulation I'm talking about) he was . Eric was a hazel eyed, manly, masculine beauty.Eric doesn't have a feminine bone in his body. Eric Victor Burdon IS ALL MAN, THROUGH AND THROUGH.
My favorite singer to this day. I saw him with The Animals and War and the as Eric Burdon. He's brilliant. I've had the pleasure of spending time with him. A gentleman. An awesome voice. And praise God for Mr. Chandler. Without him we may never had had Jimi Hendrix.
@@bonkeydollocks1879 Eric certainly had a.. ahem.. colourful private life... So, did the anal toothbrush incident come before or after the egg incident that induced John Lennon to immortalise him as the Egg-Man in I Am the Walrus, I wonder?
It is 1:30 AM, should be asleep but here I am listening to Eric Burdon. What an awesome voice- - so soulful and the song sexy and romantic at the same time. What lyrics! I was a young teen when I first heard it. Wonderful time to be alive back then, well at least for me 😌.
It's 3:14 AM here for me. Should be sleeping, but, hey, grabbing my sanity when I can, 'ya know... And and.. No. I'm not bringing it back on home to ya, babe.
The Animals: Awesome British Invasion blues group, just awesome. I thank the Lord I heard it back then and am here to hear it again and again....................................born 1949.
Today 2020, I still listen to The Animals' songs especially Bring It Home To Me and Blue Feeling, The Animals were one of the best groups Britain have produced.
All of the artists of the British invasion, including the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, did alot of cover songs on their first albums. The problem with the Animals was that they broke up within a few short years and thus, did not have time to hone their songwriting skills. The talent was there ( Hell, they wrote "I'm cryin" and " For Miss Caulker", (2) of their greatest songs), but there was a lot of turmoil within the band (The keyboardist, Alan Price, cheated the rest of the band out of the royalties from their arrangement of " The House of the Rising Sun", and that dirt bag Alan didn't even contribute to the arrangement of that classic song!!!!) They just didn't have the chemistry, friendship, and trust that the Beatles and the Stones had. Its really sad since they were such an amazing band.
Lies, damn lies, and stats I saw that Alan didn't cheated the rest of the band. Eric said that only alan's name appears, because there was insufficient room to name all the five members on the record label, and Alan was the first name alphabetically. But yes, the fact that only he received the royalties cause conflit with the rest of the band, especially with Hilton.
In my view the Animals were one of the most important bands of the 60's era. They sang about the issues of the day in a gutsy uncompromising style. Whether it was blues or rock their music is relevant today , timeless in its quality and depth. Like other reviewers I agree they were underrated and too 'in ya face' to be liked by the popular press.
@@danielward7008 this doesn't make them a cover band. Great musicians must always be able to play and reinterpret the music it represents them. With this logic every blues singer is basically a cover singer?
Absolutely chilling voice for this song One of my favorite set of lyrics I find Eric more tragic while Sam is somehow strangely joyful Even when they sing "i forgive you" After she stayed out late ❤ Or "i'll always be your slave until im dead and buried in my grave" Wow who wrote this ❤😮
In the 60s , British pop music had some the greatest male singers : Tom Jones , Stevie Winwood , Van Morrison , Joe Cocker , Steve Marriott , and arguably the best of all , Eric Burdon.
Those of us who were made to serve and those who wanted to serve during the Vietnam era loved the the Animals and their music-stuck in a jungle or a ship their songs gave us some joy in our misery-we didn’t know at the time that our situation would be so unique as to engender a whole genera of music -it made us remember the ones we lost and the futility and frustrations of war
I feel kind of sorry for the aspiring rockers of today. Just about everything they sing has already been done....only better. A lot of today's groups have to wear funny hats, have lots of tattoos, or some other gimmick to make up for their lack of talent. All they have going for them is their youth and an audience who doesn't have a clue of what was sung before they were born.
Yep, that's me, Wild Bill Firehands. I had to have a gimmick. Light my hands on fire while I play piano. It got me to America's Got Talent, but I failed because I'm not The Animals....
Happy Birthday John Steel born on February 4, 1941. He is an English musician well known for being the drummer for The Animals. Having served as the band's drummer at its inception in 1963. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Steel_(drummer)

Sorry for your loss , my father passed away he was 42 ! But we all must be brave! Fo mom , and dance with her Everytime wen she get lonely or something else! I'm do like that too anytime and everywhere! Love Mom and be best child for her! God bless our moms!
How crazy the recording company (RCA) stopped the original by Sam Cooke in 1963 cuz its was to Black. Love this version of it. Hate is a disease, and yes we can heal .
That is really odd since in 1963RCA recorded his live at Harlem Square Club. Are you sure they pulled a 1962 hit in 1963 for racial reasons while they were making a fortune off Sam Cooke?
It seems that you are a Google soldier. Yes Sam did give it out the first time in 1962 as a B side, and it went to number 14, and on the A side later that year and it went go nr 13 or 12. His real vision and how he really think that song should be is the one and only (1963).
Yes, the company makes more money on white people then on black. That's a fact. And they didn't want to loose there money maskin. Not that odd... not odd that the song was to Black in 1960s or 70s...
