The Animated History of Tibet is a nine-episode, fully-animated historical documentary series, written, directed, and animated by historians and artists passionate about Tibetan history and culture. The series covers the entire history of Tibet, from the earliest instances of writing on the Tibetan Plateau, through the 20th century, and into to the present day. We're currently fundraising to finish the series and need your help to bring Tibetan history to life.

If our current crowdfunding campaign is successful, we will not only be able to fund episodes five through nine, but we will translate and re-release each episode, fully-narrated, in both Tibetan and Mandarin-language versions. The campaign is running until the 14th of June, so get on over to our Indiegogo and support the project! We have merchandise available as well, including prints, stylized maps, commemorative mugs, and more!
The series is produced by Armchair Academics in collaboration with Tibet House US (thus.org). Each episode is written and directed by Dr. Alexander K. Smith, who holds a PhD in Tibetan and Himalayan Studies from the University of Paris (EPHE - PSL) and a MA in Tibetan Studies from Oxford University.
