I like how the DJI goggles show a letter 'H' for the homepoint. They should also build in a function to warn for any Karens.

DJI googles do this for any quad ? or only for DJI FPV DRONE ? And what kind of receiver need to be at quad for fly with DJI googles ?

@@KazanskyAlex You just need a GPS antenna soldered on, and to set it up in Betaflight correctly. The home arrow is nice, you can also get distance to home, GPS coordinates, speed, and altitude on both DJI and analog.

Got into the hobby about a year ago. Luckily I have a decent sized yard, I’ve been able to enjoy flying without having to worry about Karen’s. I’m really kind of nervous about heading out into the public, I hate those negative interactions with people that are unwilling to listen.

And by sorry I mean fuck off, I really don't care about those people. If you care about what other people think you can't do anything anymore. Just practice your hobby responsibly and "ignore the haters🔥 "

Fwiw, I've never really had a negative interaction. A couple times I've been parked at a business and they asked me to leave. But that's fine and nobody got hurt feelings. Otherwise the reaction is always "Is that a drone?!" and then a bunch of questions.

I still fly my 5” with 2100 racing motors on it. 🤙🏽 in my experience when I get into Karen situations the cops always take my side and tell them to leave me alone so I’m covered

I like that they upgraded it against the GepRC Rekon3 Nano. On that one, once you fell below about 3v, you lost video, while the Crux3 held on while you were dragging it along the ground with the battery all out of life to give. Although I wonder if an upgrade to 26650 would be worthwhile, or if the increased weight would just be too much.

Hello Justin, I have been following your channel for a few weeks now, and I really like your videos, thanks for all the great content! My family and I became interested in drone flying and we bought the GepRc TinyGo RTF. We were very overwhelmed with controlling the drone and we could not manage more than a few seconds steady flight. Nevertheless, we kept trying. We got our kids some cheap amazon drones (no FPV), which work quite well. My wife and I are also flying those to practise, and handling the TinyGo now becomes more reachable, although it is still quite difficult and we have not been trying FPV yet. Since my wife took over the TinyGo, I am looking for a beginner drone to buy or build. Would you consider the Crux3 a drone for a complete beginner? Is everything I need in your video description? What about receivers for the transmitter and the goggles? I have a Spektrum DXs transmitter lying around, is it possible to bind it? Or would you recommend buying another transmitter? I think this looks like maybe the best 1S 18650 BNF as of yet, IMO. I think this type of build is going to become more and more popular. This is where the recreational hobby will probably go.

Why do people have a general dislike for drones? I’ve had a lot of negative comments said to me while flying and even threatened if I fly around or over someone’s home, also when I was using mine to check my own roof !

Because the main purposes drones are known for is espionage. If you fly a drone with a camera, especially over somebody's house, they will be worries that you are spying on them or recording their picture without their consent. If you fly a drone that is loud or larger than a children's toy people will worry about their safety.

Cool little cruiser for the park! I'm running a Crossfire module in my JR bay on the T8SG+ ... do you think I could 'plug and play' the ELRS module in there? (still a Deviation TX) ... I know it's time to move on, but I like my little Jumper.

Ooooo good question. I would assume… if it can select CRSF in your radio as the jr module option… I would say yes. But it may not work because you need to add the lua script to your SD card. Does the T8SG+ accept lua scripts?

The Rekon 3 is quiet also. But needs some kind of beeper or bright leds because I almost lost mine in the brush/tall grass. Thanks to dvr I found it, but definitely needs something other than that.

@Gygz HCIII the rekon 3 uses one 18650 battery and it's actually pretty quick. I was hoping for something a little slower to just cruise around. But it's very quiet and Flys really nicely. But if it lands somewhere or crashes, you really have to hunt for it because you can't hear the beeps and the leds it has aren't very bright and very tiny which isn't good when you're hunting for your downed drone.

Hey Justin, great video as usual. I’d like your recommendations if you have a minute. I’ve got the SkyZone 04X goggles per your recommendation and man I love them, great call. I’m currently sporting a Foxeer pagota Circular (long range), and a NewBee Drone Linnear patch antenna. I fly anything from mini’s with their spi wire antennas, to FRSky XM+, and also CRSF, is this a good antenna setup, and if not, what say you for a decent antenna combination. Thanks so much.

I watched many of your reviews and enjoyed them all, However watching so many, I am now trying to figure out the ones where you show a complete kit of drones, goggles, and controllers. Just throwing this out there Arris has some complete setups with quad, radio, goggs just literally throw your props on when ya get it and go fly. Prices aren't bad and so far I ha e been more than pleased with everything I've purchased from them. Will say one con is the standoffs threads such boots but are a cheap upgrade to do.

I bought the crux3nlr a few weeks ago and it flies great but my vtx has so much noise with vertical lines its almost unusable . Its so bad I don't care to fly it. The spi elrs is decent but you can easily failsafe it with the 15 minute flight times.. I have the betafpv hxlr coming in the next days with a 18650 battery bay and tiny gps. I'm hoping I enjoy it alittle more

Move the vtx cable route away from the power source. Also change the band channel. Just a few pointers.

They have a 2*18650 coming to market soon. This updated model could be better for faster and thus longer range…. This one is cool to cruise around you but not farther away.

The problem is this.... for too long all you guys call them " Drones". Drones are associated with the military and being dangerous. Everyone I speak to I say. "No this is not a Drone, this is a Quadcopter ". and compare them to a RC Helicopter or plane. Everyone should do this too. This reduces their anxiety and misunderstanding. As to the camera I say this is analog with a low quality picture that couldn't identify anyone further than 1-2 meters away. Let DJI keep the "Drone label status" with the irresponsible first timer inexperienced pilots with no previous RC hobby or building experience. These DJI guys have ruined our RC hobbies reputation.

I'd been ok at piloting the 'toy' level and decided to step up. Went with a Roma F5. That thing is a Saturn V rocket by comparison and you need some decent space as a result. Think this guy looks like it would be a good starter for the 'hobby' level pilot. Thanks for the review.
