If there is one album I want to relive and reexperience once again, it would definitely be this one. The array of emotions you could feel through is staggering. I revisit it from time to time whenever I contemplate about things. This is my own form of catharsis and it helped me so much. I treasure this hidden gem.
When I first listened to this album, I didn't fall in love right away--like I had with Hospice. But then I listened to this song on my giant headphones, and holy eff, it made all the difference. And the lyrics really just hit me hard. So beautiful.
Familiars is the finest work. It's a masterpiece. I loved Hospice so much. Was afraid to listen to anything else they put out, but it's crazy that Hospice is now my least favorite album of theirs. Crazy to think about when it had such a tremendous impact on me.
Hospice is beautiful, but Familiars somehow hits me harder than anything else. It's a like a funerary dance with the memories of people and a self long lost and gone.
I lost my best friend 4 years ago almost to the day and this song hits the mark. Such a beautiful soul to be lost to the darkness. Still shakes me to my core. Learn to love to live to love and learn to live to love to live.
