i love tally hall and i’m also genuinely surprised that i’ve been listening to the same songs from the same albums for 7 years and i haven’t gotten sick of them 💀
@@beetlebat the insane thing is that every member insists to this day that tally hall will be back together and another album will be made despite them all having dedicated seperate career paths and admitting that the very last time they were all in the same place together was on their final concert in 2011
I've been down a TallyHall rabbit hall thanks to my teen (aka Frog) who used to play Mind Electric on their ukelele some years ago. For some reason it decided to lodge in my brain a couple of weeks ago and refused to leave. From there and a bit of Wiki-ing I discovered the connection between Miracle Musical and TH and they've been pretty much on repeat play ever since.
@@beetlebatit's a one-man band, who is Neil Ciecierega, who created Potter Puppet Pals. Many, many Tally Hall fans also like Lemon Demon for his quirkiness (and definitely internet music, he did Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny)
could you do That Handsome Devil one day, maybe this one's _a bit_ different but it's kind of a rock band with a mostly "underground" and "strange" vibe and pretty serious topic (you've probably guessed it), some songs that I often see people mention are Charlie's Inferno and Elephant Bones (I personally like the latter). btw that was a pretty good Tally Hall analysis you made, Banana Man is one of my favourite songs (and the reason I got into Tally Hall and listen to them alot lol). Apologize if my wordings is pretty wired and convoluted, I don't usually talk to other people that much 😅
You have to do The Appeal Of Lemon Demon. He is literally on the same level as Tally Hall, and also makes quirky kinda music sorta like Tally Hall. I recommend listening to his most recent and popular album Spirit Phone. He also has a whole career on his own, making Brodyquest, the Ultimate Showdown Of Ultimate Destiny, and the Mysterious Ticking Noise, and basically invented internet culture as we know it today.
Could you maybe check out Lemon Demon? It's has my same type of fanbase as tally hall, though has MUCH more albums and the person behind it has made so much more stuff than just lemon demon
Woah! I expected this to be from like two years ago at the start of the video. (Till I heard about the docs.) I really really should not be doing this right now as I do not want to be absolutely bashed by people online. Joe doesn't deserve the stuff thats been happening to him, as for when people draw the band as a whole, they leave him out and replace him with a different member. He doesn't deserve to be doxxed, anything like that. He isn't/wasn't in a good mental state at that time and still probably isn't. Does that mean i support him or think what he did was right? Absolutely not. Anyway how about I actually get to what this video is about. For one this is an amazing video and I will most likely use some of this for a school project if I even get too. Or just for a fun little thing that I want to make for all the songs. Especially the MMMM stuff. I love how you worded some of the stuff in this, at some points it was funny as well. Very much so sorry if this doesn't make sense I don't know what to say or whatsgha (And the fact that I'm commenting this 4 months later) 😪 AGHHAA AN EDIT SINCE I FORGOT TO ASK: if you haven't done Rob's album yet would you be able to do that?
BANANA MAN IS SO FRICKIN' GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN AGREE, I JUST ACT LIKE IT IS ABOUT NOTHING CUZ THAT IS THE BEST THING I HAVE HEARD. so i love banana man, it is my favorite tally hall song.
It's weird seeing actual essays on the band lately. I'm too used to brainrot and shitposts. I hope you'll kinda go over the side projects one day! (mostly Not a Trampoline, Sketches, and Joe Hawley Joe Hawley)
pretty good video but i want to make 1 correction: im 99% sure good day is about TV. i could be wrong, so dont quote me on this, however itmakes sense igåf you look at the lyrics
I love this analysis! It's honestly extremely well thought out and properly answers the question in the title. I'm decently new to this fan base but am also decently well known in the community and I can say this video will most likely be extremely important to the fandom. You really took the time to understand all of it in depth. Basically, thank you
this was actually super interesting to watch. ive always considered my hyperfixation of tally hall just something like "haha what a cute silly band !!!!!" and now whenever someone asks why i like tally hall so much i can just whip out this video and go on a very sophisticated rant 💞😁 (also, could you do beetlebug or cavetown? beetlebug isn't that popular so ig there isn't much "appeal" but errrm i think it could bring more fans to her music so !!!yeah)
i’ve never liked tally hall outside of a couple songs since i discovered them my sophomore year in 2016, but it’s nice to hear another perspective as always. fire video
6:36 nope. not last... hawaii: part II is their last album... though its under miracle musical, it was made by the tally hall guys so it still counts... just dont look into the lyrics of variations on a cloud
Jukebox The Ghost is also fantastic lol I saw them last year, they put on a great show. Their music often has a simialr tongue in cheek attitude but its also a lot more sincere than what Tally Hall made. Jonathan Coulton also makes music quite similar to Tally Hall, and Flight of the Concords, and They Might Be Giants
some of my friends and family don't like my music interest, my grandma doesn't like Banana Man😭. so far what i have experienced is that if you find someone that doesn't like music like tally hall's just show them Be Born and they will get into it. that is so far the only song my grandma and one of my friends actually liked by them. (my friend kinda likes the band but loves their humor way more than their music)
the biggest brain blast for me here was when you showed MY copy of the pingry EP in the footage. like i completely forgot that my scan of my original CD has been the definitive scan of that disc for a year or so and i can tell by the serial number on the inside of the disc!!! i cna tell that that's the old version of the photo straight from myphotocopier, from before people on the wiki color-corrected it like half a year later.
🖤🤍 I only found Tally Hall about 3 years ago, but ever since, I haven't been able to stop listening, and they are now my favorite band. As for my favorite song, i can't decide between 'Welcome to Tally Hall' and 'Spring and a storm'. And im still learning more about them every day! ❤️💛💚💙🩶
The way you pronounce the names are killing me(dont worry its fine...except for bora what were you thinking) also uh you should listen to chonny jash (not johnny cash, please I've heard this like a thousand times) he has covered tally hall, will wood, thd (that handsome devil) etc and i think you might like him and if you do please talk about him (please we need more fans)
no, they were pretty popular in the 80's & have a new-wavey style in their earlier albums, but then later in the 80's moved to pop rock, & then in the 90's they completely changed their style@@beetlebat
Ok, I’m aware I’m late, but since you’ve done AJR and Tally Hall, you HAVE to do Lemon Demon, trust me, his music is amazing! (Uhhh don’t listen to his first two albums, they were kinda bad [maybe cuz they were his first albums he sang in and he didn’t do instrumental music like deporitaz])
I honestly think Tally Hall has a very interesting thing going with their idea of nothing. That having a kind of absurd run of lyrics with meaning behind it.
Personally I enjoy Good and Evil a lot :00 It is calmer but I really like & and Turn The Lights Off quite a bit ! It could very well be that I’ve listened to them WAAYYY too much though lol
im sorry but i have to say that i dont really like how you do your band video essays. the last video essay that i watched from you was about will wood and you got some things wrong about him and it seemed like you did more surface level research than anything. maybe that was the aim of the video, to cover surface level knowledge about him, but i just want to say that MMMM did not name the mueseum after their album. some of the band members that used to live in the area wanted to pay tribute to that mueseum and so they named the album after the mueseum, not the other way around. it really sounds like youre doing tiktok level research ://///
Ok i understand the will wood video but the MMMM thing was a complete sarcastic joke in the intro. i’m aware they named the album after the museum and not the other way around!
