@@ThaVillaMan I think that would be the way to go since so many of us have great surround systems.Hope Apple offers a way to sync this up with Vision Pro
I think health might be a concern - your eyes constantly focusing on a small screen that is just an inch or so away for longer period of time... Watching a movie here and there, maybe. But productive work all day, every day... I don't think so
In this type of devices, there's a special type of lenses that make your eyes focus at a distance of around 2 to 3 meters so no it's not bad for your eyes.
might consider it IF it let you connect it to a blu-ray/dvd player. I own too many physical copies of movies that aren't available anywhere else (or 4K movies where there isn't a 4k version on streaming)
I've watched a lot of videos about this and one of the things that impressed me is the ability to relive moments of your life in a way that you couldn't before. Also sports can have a completely different experience. The trip to camp Nou to watch Barcelona can now be done from Xavi's standpoint - you can coach the team if you want to. The F1 race can be watched from Hamilton's cockpit as if you're driving the car. The one thing I've hung onto is the word "spatial computing" and I think Apple is applying a 3d spatial effect to create the illusion of being there in everything you watch including the way the screens float in the air. I was wondering if the PSVR2 could do that but apparently there were massive concessions made to it including fresnel lenses with a very small sweet spot (apparently it's the equivalent of a viewing angle on a tv but massively important as the picture is blurry as opposed to washed out) and pentile OLED technology. Those 2 things make it impossible for the PSVR2 to do what the Vision Pro does. But the Meta 3 has pancake lenses which have a larger sweet spot and are clearer (no idea how clear compared to Apple's Micro OLED Sony displays) and has a visual OS that will be improving massively to match Apple's and it can be tied to a PC for quality gaming giving it an edge in some regards.
For a single person this can be great but for a family? The phones already takes the family apart, this is going to get worse. And like you said, movie is a family thing when all can experience the same thing together.
Is it possible in the future to bring together a group of people virtually to watch a movie together. It would be great if I could set up a small theater and invite my friends into a virtual living room.
I think it looks wonderful and I can't wait to get one. I hope it can connect via bluetooth to my Dennon 11.2 dolby atmos sound system if the sound from the headset is inferior. Just have to wait and see I guess !! I've seen watching a lot of RU-vid videos about Vision Pro that the sound through the headset is very good. The price is high, but this is a MAC Mini M2 on steroids that you wear on your head !!! It looks way, way ahead of ANY other VR glasses or headsets that I have seen on the market and it should be for the price ! I am glad to hear that most apps that works on an iPhone, iPad or (probably AppleTV) will work on the headset and be on the Vision App Store. I still want my Netflix, Prime, PlutoTV, BritBox, RU-vid, etc. not just the AppleTV+ app (only) for movies and TV shows, etc. I can see mainly using the headset for movies or well made series like Foundation (on AppleTV+) and my current OLED TV and home theater system for regular TV shows. Cheers !
Sphere is an evolution of the screening system of the past, "Cinerama". I experienced a similar circular projection at the Japan building of the Osaka Expo. It was just a video of a steam locomotive coming towards me, but as a 22-year-old at the time, I remember being surprised at how terrifying it was. That's why I think Sphere will achieve maximum video projection. In order to expand this globally, I think it is necessary to reduce construction costs, and I hope that this will be realized.
The general concept of this can't be copyrighted by Apple, so hopefully in time to come we will see things that do this for a lot less money. I have a good surround system all on my own, so I'd be all in for this experience.
@@ThaVillaMan Augmented reality was a thing already. How can you copyright the idea of a big augmented / virtual reality screen? Headsets were a thing already, headphones were a thing already.
@@ThaVillaManthey have 5000 patents actually but none of them cover the concept so you'll see many headsets like it (for example the new meta quest 3)
@@ThaVillaMan I'm assuming amazing. I was shocked they even mentioned it doing 3d in 4K for Avatar. I'm not an Apple device owner, do they allow outside video files onto their phones and Apple TV?
@@ThaVillaMan with it being the first generation version through time over the years they will likely release a pro one and lower price version one and reduce the price with different version fingers crossed lol 🙂
it's a 1st gen product so it's bulky n heavy. sometimes on the weekends i like watching 3 or more movies non-stop.... saturday and sunday, but i won't be able to wear this comfortably for more than an hour. the rechargeable battery is good for only 2hrs. and even tho you can charge it while watching, that limits your head movements. also headphone audio can never compete with a good external system. for me i think the novelty will wear off in 9mos, i'll wait for the gen 5.
Great points..I don’t think this device will be best for any type of activity (FT, messaging, gaming, etc) because of the immobility factor and how impractical using hand gestures is for completing tasks quickly. It’s looking like it’ll be mainly a luxury item for streaming movies for an immersive experience
The worst device to make family apart , this will be only for people that live alone in a small apartment , and also this device need to be link only with apple device , no thanks
@@cwhiting then again it has the potential to fully replace a Oled TV (in theory) ... as long as you don't need to share it. TV's are also severely overpriced and Apple is a Prestige brand.
@@TheAntifluencer prestigious because people are willing to pay for overpriced stuff they sale. I would've surprised if it only worked with crapple tv. Also yea TV's can be overpriced, but atleast it can be viewed by more than one person at a time. I've never been a apple fan boy but the crapple sheep will buy anything they put out
@@HoodRed69 you're fine, as long as it doesn't send out negative Subliminal programming to mess up your subconsciousness. I doubt Apple would do that but who knows, TikTok is already doing that. I guess Eye health is still a concern with this Toy, so I don't want to be the Guinea pig / Beta tester.
@@HoodRed69 But yea that Metaverse sh*t is creepy. I sure as hell don't want to be part of a world of virtual friends and no more real world social interactions. 💀I guess this is potentially just pushing it further down the rabbit hole.
