ALSO for all those who watched my last vlog and have kindly reached out wanting to help New Destiny Orphanage financially, I said I would have a way to do so in this next vlog. We held an offering last week and have been amazingly overwhelmed with how much the crew gave--they gave so much, in fact, that as of now all our current projects and plans for New Destiny are fully funded and we do not need any more. The faithfulness of God through the generosity of our crew and others has been simply amazing. Thank you so much for you willingness to give, I will keep you posted if we run into further need. Keep praying for these wonderful children and their faithful mama, great things He has done but GREATER things He will do!

Short term crew don't really get extended time off because they normally just fulfill their commitment of a few months and then go home but long term crew and especially families tend to take some time in the summer or over the holiday season off. You have to work it out with HR in advance though

Yeah I think a lot of people confuse us with the USNS Mercy but we are a faith based organization and the largest non-governmental hospital ship :)

Hi.. I‘ve heard that the volunteers have to pay for accommodation and food? I‘m seriosly interested in working on the mercy ship as a icu nurse. Thank you for your response 😊

How much money does a perrson need to pay / month? Also can they voluteer less than 2 years? (Teacher)

I am attaching a link that will take you to Mercy Ships Crew Fee page, they list all the info there as it is different depending on the amount of time you are going to volunteer. Last I checked, they require a 2 year commitment for teachers specifically (to create more stability for the kids).

Rica Saluria yes it’s up to crew to individually arrange their travel to the ship and then a mercy ship vehicle picks you up at the airport

just curious how many that actually say they are atheist, get chosen?

I have known quite a few crew-members who have not been Christian, it's hard to quantify, however, since people of faith tend to be the majority of applicants but we don't discriminate in accepting atheists so long as they're willing to comply with our rules and understand our community life will look a certain way.

Hey Carys! I’m looking at taking a gap year on mercy ships out of high school! If I apply a year in advance will that be sufficient time? Also what are common roles for 18 year olds?
