every weapon in the game is entirely avoidable: the pistol can be skipped using a breakable vent that can be opened with the knuckleblaster near the secret orb in the same room shotgun can be walked past, same with nailgun railgun can be avoided by jumping around and over the corridor where you pick it up normally and the rocket launcher has a small breakable thing in the wall that can be broken with the knuckleblaster shockwave
Fun fact, the knuckle blaster's shockwave breaks a stone button through the wall in the 5-3 rocket launcher room that will trigger the same event. It was added to allow pure weaponless runs, the button is directly above the painting.
@@grunkleysmerb that wouldn't work with this run though another weakness is magnet nailgun followed by overheat, causing a swarm of nails that can take two thirds of v2's health really quickly
For a second I thought "When did I leave a comment on this video?" I then realized that I'm and idiot because A. I only used that pro on Discord and B. I haven't used that pro in 4 months.
You can actually skip picking up the revolver by using the knuckleblaster to break the glass pane above the door and a breakable section of the floor in the revealed small room.
1:15 There's a hidden button behind the top of the wall with the gabriel painting that allows you to skip picking up the Rocket Launcher. Such button can be destroyed with the Knuckleblaster's shockwave. Hope that helps!
It's a small detail but I absolutely adored the little boss ornements you added on the boss level titles ! Also pretty much everyone said the same thing but you are so damn underrated, instant sub on my part, the video was amazing !
Incase you were unaware you can bear the whole game without picking up a gun, in the first level there's a vent you can break to skip the revolver, in 0-3 you can just knuckleblaster the rocks, in 2-2 you can do some slam storage stuff to jump over the rail, and there's a button hidden in 5-3 to skip the rocket
I'd recommend this challenge to everyone that wants to become better at this game, it teaches you parrying, timing, dodging, whiplash technique, fist tech, unique interactions and everything you could hope to do with those cold blooded machine hands
I’m really glad RU-vid recommended me this video, it’s so well made! I especially love the random moments of British throughout it. I also can’t believe it only has 250 views right now, I wouldn’t have been surprised if it was closer to something like 250k!
Every explosion in the game can deflect projectiles. This is really useful because it can instantly kill enemies like mindflayers by blasting them when they shoot their volley attack, or for killing malicous faces by parrying their projectiles (normally they are immune to explosions)
while i enjoyed the gameplay alot and found this an impressive feat, i found myself just marvelling at the incredible editing and effects. this vid deserves way more views
Pro tip if not said already. You can KBP(KnuckleBlaster Parry) all projectiles in the game. Best used in groups of projectiles coming at you. While it doesn't heal you it does takeout batches of enemies plus the friendly fire style bonus.
Fun Fact, from a new file only 2 weapons are required to be picked up, the revolver and the shotgun, as you don't have the red arm at that point and can't skip them
i just want to say that i am incredibly thankful for the subtitles, i have auditory processing disorder which makes videos quite difficult to watch at times, and youtubes auto generated subs are awful, so thank you for making this video accessible for people like me ❤
1:20 it’s actually possible to make the ship tip over by breaking a wall behind the place where you get the rocket launcher, it’s kind of hard to hit but it’s a cool addition lol
Fun fact: theres a button that you can hit with the knucklebalster's blast behind the ferry man picture that flips the ship without picking up the rocket launcher
When I tried this challenge myself, 0-5 was super difficult took me a lot of time to beat it, V2 i beat on the second try, just parried his shotgun shots,I beat Gabriel first try, all non-boss rooms were pretty easy. But V2 second encounter was the hardest thing, it took me so long. And Gabriel second encounter was tough, but not as much. Every copy is personalized, I guess
0:55 Is that a Decaying winter reference!?!?!1?1!?1!1? In decaying winter there's a perk that has a Shotgun arm, you can use it to punch with big damage every 10 seconds and if timed right you can shoot the shell by jamming it.
This video is awesome. You've shown to me that this can be an actually fun challenge. It's challenging, sure, but if you're good at the game, melee only can be fun.
oh yeah, and also something else to notr, if you go into the blue path, in the first room with the blood orb you can get the blood orb, grab the skull, slam store back up the blood orb tunnel, and go back to the first room without any kills. you can then grab the soap if you don't want to fight hmas.
Actually, ship of fools can be triggered without picking up the rocket launcher, you can trigger the transformation with an explosion somrwhere in the room iirc
decided to start a fist only run after seeing this video, flesh prison was hard enough, and you did the entirely of p-2? i have absolutely nothing but respect for your dedication, props to you
dude this shit is insane! not only is your game skill impressive, but your editing and music choice for the video was fucking impeccable! great job man, loved this video
v2 becomes far easier than any boss just because he's parryable, and doing that does a lot of damage. Shotgun, pistol and recharged piercer are the attacks you can parry (Except for the grenade). Parrys are easy as long as you stay still instead of moving around the arena. The easiest attack to parry is the shotgun since it is something he spams a lot, you just need a bit of timing and aim to v2 in every move, also, he moves around you in circles most of the time. That's why it is better to stay still. In the second encounter, the only thing you can't parry is the nailgun. Coins can be punched during their red flash, although doing that is hard af since you have to move and predict where the coins are going to be.
in 0-1 you can knuckleblast the window in the room to skip the first room entirely and avoid picking up the pistol in 0-3 you can simply avoid picking up the shotgun when dropped in 1-1 you can simply avoid the nailgun easily, unless you're trying to P-rank in 2-2 you can jump around the tower with the railcannon in it by wall jumping. enter the door on the other side to load in the next section in 5-3 knuckleblast teh painting behind the dead guy and you'll hear a crack, you can then exit the room and progress Also some tips I have for bosses: All of V2's bullets can be parried in the first fight. The shotgun pellets are much easier to parry and a good parry can knock out one third up to a whole half of their health. When attempting to parry punches from the giant corpse, don't wait for the hand to come to you all the way, wait for it to envelope about 60% of the screen, your parry hitbox is massive against the corpse. Using the whiplash to kill the eyes can make killing them very easy, use the blue arm for them, as they die in one hit from the blue fist and blue fist can attack faster. Minos has a lot of parriable attacks, you just need to make sure you can do it. Any swords and spears Gabriel throws in the first fight are parriable. All of V2's bullets except for nails can be parried in the second fight. You can also punch the coins they throw, though this is not recommended to do as it V2 will still follow up with shooting the coin that bounces off of them. Whenever the Ferryman uses a blue attack, they will always follow up with a parriable yellow attack. If they stand up on top of their oar, you can parry, if he jumps back away from you, dash after them and parry the attack they're going to do. Parries in the second Gabriel fight are ESSENTIAL. If you can't get the timing you're gonna have a bad day. When he does blue attacks, he will do 4 of them before a parriable yellow attack. When he does yellow attacks, he will do two of them, both can be parried, before following up with a sword throw, which can also be parried. watch out for his second phase where he teleports around to try and trick you. More tips about smaller enemies: Strays, Soldiers, and Schisms can be parried right before they fire their projectiles. Since Schisms fire multiple projectiles, the window to parry and instakill Schisms is much larger. Sentries, similarly to Maurice, their laser can be parried when it flashes yellow, right before they fire. When fighting a Mindflayer, change into a robe, climb atop a mountain, and pray to whatever higher power you worship and -pray- beg for mercy.
Gabe (2nd) has an alternate attack, where he swings once, then waits, and then does it again 2 more times, and then he uses a parryable slash. Also in 3-2, the spinning axes he throws is parryable, but the timing is very bad, and more of a last resort kinda thing. Also the swords summoned around Gabe in his second phase on Violent (in both fights) are parryable, and do massive damage to Gabe. Just be sure to face him directly.
you are actually sick. i genuinely have no idea how you are so good at ultrakill and editing, one of the best ultrakill videos ive seen in a good while
